Salut a vous, Monsieur crayon. Je suis tombé sur votre vidéo un peu par hasard. En effet je suis habitant et citoyen roumain plarlant le francais. Votre accent pour prononcer les noms des locations m'a quelque peu amusé mais ce n'est rien de bien méchant. Votre épisode est très juste et vous avez bien vulgariser les choses. Moi même connaissant bien mon pays je peux certifier de la qualité de ce videoclip. Néanmoins, je voudrai apporter quelques précisions (superflues certes mais interéssantes) quibien evidemment ne remettent pas en cause l'essentiel du vidéoclip. 1/ La roumanie n'est pas le pays le plus pauvre de l'UE, ni en terme de PIB, ni en terme de PIB par habitant. Si vous regardez plus attentivement vous verez que en terme de PIB il y bien des nations européennes avec une moins grande economie. Et en terme de PIB par habitant c'est pareils, je peux vous citer la bulgarie, la croatie, l'estonie notamment. Pour le PIB c'est très evident mais pour le PIB par habitant c'est plus compliqué car selon les sources cette valeure diffère mais globalement la roumanie n'apparet pas comme la région la plus pauvre d'europe. Bien évidemment c'est mon chauvinisme national qui parle LoL mais bien sur ca fait partie des moins riches mais ce n'est pas top 1 le plus pauvre. (Big up aux frères bulgares, grace a vous on n'est pas dernier de la classe XD). 2/ Le terme Valachie n'est utilisé qu'exclusivement dans les autres pays. Les roumains désignent cette région "Olténie" en général mais peut se designer par plusieurs termes selon le contexte. En tout cas vous n'enterez presque jamais un Roumain parler de Valachie, c'est un terme utilisé seulement à l'exterieur de la Roumanie. 3/ En fait le litoral Roumain ne se situe pas dans la région de la Valachie mais constitue sa propre région que l'on appelle la Dobrogée en francais. Elle se situe a L'est du danube et est séparée du reste de la Roumanie par le danube. Ce territoire comporte ses propre spécificitée culturelles et une histoire différente à cause de la domination turque plus importante dans cette région. Cela dit ces précisions que je partage avec vous comme je l'ai dit ne remettent pas vraiment en cause la qualité de votre vidéoclip car elle ne sont pas indispensables a la compréhension de la situation du réseau routier de Roumanie qui laisse encore a désirer mais qui croyez moi s'est bien amélioré ces dernières années. Bref bien amusant de voir des francais parler de son pays et de facon correcte, une fois n'est pas coutume. La bise a la francaise.

Is not very common for French people or foreigners to be that well informed about my country. I don't speak french but you've been puttin the english CC. That helped a lot. There is a bond between Romania and France that goes deep into the history. I am glad this bond exists and i really hope it will be a friendship that is meant to last. Longue vie a la France !

Je suis un Québécois, francophone et j'ai compté quelques Roumains dans mon cercle d'amis au fil du temps. J'ai été surpris d'apprendre il y a quelques années que la Roumanie avait un statut de membre de la francophonie, mais j'ai été encore plus surpris de voir en réalité à quel point les Roumains sont une sorte de village gaulois en Europe de l'Est quant à leur langue aussi d'origine latine. Bon, c'est un peu ironique de parler de résistance en citant Astérix, puisque c'est justement aux Romains qu'ils tenaient tête après tout, mais ça reste très intéressant comme situation, et en tant que francophone d'Amérique, je peux arriver à un peu mieux comprendre ce sentiment d'isolement sur le plan linguistique. Sincères salutations !

It is country with breathtaking nature, old cities and beautiful castles, whole country is absolutely packing with interesting and beautiful places! When you are in Romania you feel like in some kind of fairly tale it is ducking georgeous, and it is fairly cheap, best 2 months on motorbike ever! I love you Romania 🇨🇿♥🇷🇴 i am going to visit you soon again with my friends next summer!

Les montagnes des Carpates sont un trésor pour la Roumanie, tout comme le delta du Danube et le bord de mer de la mer Noire. Le manque d'autoroutes est lié à la corruption des dirigeants politiques, qui ne pouvaient pas non plus bénéficier des fonds européens autant qu'ils le souhaitaient, et non à des obstacles naturels.

C'est le plus beau pays d'Europe de l'est, avec les paysages les plus variés. The route for the motorway between Craiova and Pitesti has already been chosen and it’s divided in 4 sections, one of them (the second in order) was opened this year. The other ones are also in construction and one or maybe two of them will be finished by the end of 2023.

Un DX este o autostradă nefinalizată, deschisă cumva "provizoriu", anticipat, din rațiuni de cost, înainte de a finaliza și banda de urgență și celelalte adaptări specifice. Bineînțeles, DX-ul poate să rămână ca la inaugurare alți 100 de ani, nimic nu garantează că va fi finalizată autostrada, dar teoretic, dacă ar fi urgentă nevoie, este ușor să transformi un DX în autostradă, în mod normal ar dura câteva luni. Și francezii au DX-uri, doar că la ei nu are aceeași semnificație, fiind mai mult echivalent cu un DN la 2 benzi pe sens la noi, având giratorii în mijlocul drumului și porțiuni bruște în care se îngustează la câte 1 bandă pe sens. Asta pentru că ei au lățit drumurile naționale, intens circulate, acolo unde spațiul a permis și unde ar fi costat miliarde să faci o autostradă nouă. În schimb, toate satele și orășelele lor au centură, nu merge niciun drum prin centrul comunei.

Glad to hear that! Whenever I hear "east" / slavic European people lament how they get external funding for some infrastructural projects only for their corrupt politicians to bail the country with the funding, I get sad. I'm romanian, there are many problems regarding Romania but i can say one of the biggest is this one presented in the video, i won't say that the corruption and lazyness combined with xenophobia isn't an important factor in the building of the highway Sibiu-Pitești and why it"s happening so slow, but also another reason it's happening so slow is that other countries that are in the european union that have opening to the sea dont actually want this to happen because countries like india and china won't use their ports to get their cargo into Europe, simply by looking at the map you can see this clearly, why go around the whole Europe by boat to reach the port in netherlands when you have a port right here in Romania, this makes export shorter and less expensive but by keeping it this way the other countries that have acces to sea can gain big money, that's why countries like netherlands aren't ok and try to bring excuses to why this highway shouldn't be built,

Make no illusion. No Romanian harbour will threaten the position of western european harbours. Why? Basically because that region is not being serviced by either Hamburg, Rotterdam, or Marseille. Due to the lay of the land any Romanian harbour will remain a local harbour. Theoretically it could have some potential, but it would also require development of the Danube. The danube is fully underutilsed as a transport route, and that is amongs others the many borders and border conflicts, and the lack of large industrial centres on that river. Yes several capitals, but look at industrial density and population along the river, and then compare that to the Rhine. If you expect any Romanian harbour to become leading with a highway, then you are in for dissappointment.

@@j.p.vanbolhuis8678 it takes nearly 3 weeks for a ship to sail Suez-Roterdam; it takes 4 days to sail Suez- Romania, after that, the load takes 2 days on the road to reach Roterdam. Use your mind, or if you do and still say what u just said, that means that your goal, is pure manipulation. Roterdam and Hamburg will be highly afected, since trade with China is more and more important, and all maritime routs go thruogh Suez.

Romania still dont have highway try country which is crazy consider that in Former Yugoslavia there was highway from one side off country on Austria border to Greece border for 40 years ..and people from west countries still travel try Serbia when go to Greece and Turkey even we are not in EU so they have to wait looong lines on borders just to pass try Serbia

Well I live in Constanta, the sole city connected by highway to the capital (at the moment at least). Very good pronunciation of romanian names, congratulations! And yes, the Carpathians are at the same time our historical protector, our natural treasure and a God damn big wall in the middle of the country :)).

Despre romanii ramasi in afara granitelor, Romaniei de azi, cu comunitati majoritare de romani, ramase din timpuri istorice sau partial absorbite de populatiile statelor in care se regasesc, ramase in diferite perioade istorice tulburi,pe langa cele prezentate in videoclip si comentarii, pot fi prezentate multe altele, ramase prin tarile din jurul Romaniei,in Bulgaria,intre muntii Balcani si fluviul Dunarea,in Serbia,Grecia,Albania,Ungaria,Cehia-Slovacia pana in Tatra si Beskizi,Ucraina actuala,Polonia,Rusia actuala,chiar si in regiunea Siberia a rusilor,Tadjikistan,etc.,numai zic de emigratiile mai mari sau mai mici, in Australia,SUA,Austria,Germania.Belgia,Spania,Potugalia,Marea Britanie,tarile din nordul Europei, apoi Franta,Italia,Mexic,America de Sud,Noua Zeelanda,etc. Partial videoclipul prezinta lucruri interesante despre starea drumurilor din Romania,dar cred ca se va reveni intr-un alt episod cu actualizarea necesara la zi,fiindca sunt multe de spus.

Before Dacians and roman empire, there where Tracians! Tracians had expansionist tendencies and they where expanded till Maribor, in Slovenia. Then they started to lose teritory. Decebal, king of Dacia was protecting his land against roman invasion. He killed himself in year 106 before Christ, to avoid getting captured by romans.

Merci pour ce documentaire. J’y ai passé 14 jours au cours d’un périple francophone de groupe en août 2017. Nous avons même roulés sur la Transfaragarasan. (pardon pour l’orthographe de la langue) Très bon souvenir. Bien sûr, idealise par les livres de Radu Cinamar !

Friendly advice: it's never a good idea to call a country the "poorest" especially when there are no "poor" countries in the EU. And if you check more than a few sources, Romania's GDP PPP per capita outranks that of Bulgaria and Greece, and sometimes even outranks that of Croatia, Latvia and Slovakia (depending on the source)---you could say it is on par with those countries.

Poverty could be measured in many ways. GDP per capita is primitive for this IMO, as inequality and extreme poverty are overlooked more than in other indicators such as median household income or percentage living in extreme poverty, material deprivation etc. For the latter two indicators, Romania is last.

When someone calls a country poor, they're not referring to the rate of poverty per se.

@@margcantelli4723 i will sound bias but I think collectively Romania and Bulgaria are the poorest countries in the EU, they usually are last or second to last in every EU statistic (or first and second if it's a statistic about bad things) but that doesn't mean living in them is hell (although I want to leave after I graduate), it's not as bad as living in most of countries in Africa, Central America or Asia

Sorry but Romania it is not the poorest country! Make you research properly. Like other countries from Europe there are many, who have problems with roads and different kind of problems. Romania doesn't have a problem with the mountains. We are happy that Carpatian mountains are in Romania as well because it is the most amazing site from my country. Transalpina, Transfagarasan, Brasov and so many amazing sites. Romania has the most biggest gold reserve from Europe if not from the world. We have huge History and heritage, Moldova was part of Romania but Russia took it after the second world war. Some parts of Moldova it is still ours. Romania it is a very beautiful and amazing country with amazing nature and wilderness. Amazing food and beautiful people. In this video you should say that.

Moldavia (Bessarabia) has been part of Russia for hundreds of years. Until it was annexed by Romania because of the 1917 revolution. And the ethnonym Moldovans is much older than Romanians, who appeared only in the 19th century.

from what i’ve seen you french people are quite racist and insulting towards us, which i find amusing because my city is filled with french girls who came here to study.

J’ai passé un mois en Roumanie cet été et ta vidéo m’a permis de mieux comprendre ce que j’ai vécu sur la route. Il y avait un fossé entre les belles autoroutes autour de Cluj Napoca et Bucharest/Constanta comparé aux routes mono-voies des Carpates qui s’apparentent plus a de longues files d’attentes où il faut se mettre en danger a chaque fois que l’on veut doubler. La Roumanie reste un très beau pays avec des paysages et une culture incroyable a découvrir.

LOL, the Problem of Romania is CORRUPTION, not the inability to settle which high-way project to do first and where so to catch up the EUW. Even the routes we have were 4-10 times more expensive(in the Bechtel scandal we paid 1.4 billion euro for 52km) and they are like second-hand highways without markings, toilets, safety zones, gas stations, etc.

exactly, corruption bleeds into the roads we don't have roads because of the corruption if we were to solve corruption we'd build more, better, cheaper roads and roads aren't the only thing affected by corruption, most things are so not only is corruption the biggest problem in this country, but almost every other problem we have is made worse by it

yes but you also miss the fact that our country has massive hills and mountains. it's pretty logical to be more expensive then the highways on flat lands. look at the bridges and aquadoqs we have to build, even over 100 meteres high. that's not a easy feat.

Very important to underline this. ;)) The Hungarian king called the Saxons to come and defend the territory of Transylvania and Hungary in the 1200!.... There were no Ottomans in Europe! There was some Tartar invasions ( Genghis Khan and his descendants), they took what they could found and back to their place, in Krymea= never Ukrainian!!!). Always jealousy, greed, ....unfriendly environment. Saxons are mostly Catholic and Schwabs are mostly Protestant ( Lutheran), if my information is right. Hungarians from Romania are mostly Protestant (Calvinist) and Unitarians.

Atunci când a spus săracă, cred ca s-a referit la situația financiară și nu la resursele naturale. In același timp, cred ca străinii au ‘furat’ prin intermediul celor care se afla in administrația româneasc, care au încheiat acorduri comerciale cu aceștia. Aș spune că nepricepuții - exista si oameni competenti, altfel n-ar exista doctori, avocați, bancheri in România - din admin statului român s-ar putea să fi eșuat in unele momente Si francezii tot străini sunt - deci nu toți străinii sunt la fel, se poate spune. Fun fact: the Carpathians protected us back in the day when the Ottoman Empire invaded. Luring armies into dangeroud territory was a common strategy for Romanian armies, especially when we were outnumbered. The Carpathians have always been our shield. 🥰 PS. The Transfăgărășan Highway is pretty great. The Top Gear guys were very impressed by it!

La chance ! Une seule fois durant 3semaines et pas eu le temps de voir tout au programme. Le delta du Danube, la Bucovine et la région côtière me manquent tandis que la transylvanie m'aura ébloui de beauté, tant les villes médiévales que les petits villages saxons et les églises fortifiée.. ainsi que les ours ...

Spero che non succederà mai ,non abbiamo bisogno di un autostrada ,anzi le montagne sono la nostra piu grande protezione.Niente autostrade ,niente saccheggiatori delle nostre richieze protette dalle montagne piu bele e sempre verdi. Beaucoup d'erreurs. 1. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi beaucoup de gens aiment augmenter le nombre de gitans en Roumanie. Ils représentent 3,4% de la population (630 000 personnes) et non 5% (1 million). De plus, il n'y a pas le plus de gitans en Roumanie en pourcentage de la population ! 2. Les Soviétiques n'ont pas donné le nom de Moldavie à l'ancienne république soviétique, elle s'appelait déjà ainsi puisqu'elle était unie à la région moldave de Roumanie. 3. La région historique de la Valachie n'est pas la même que la Dacie. Le royaume dace comprenait toutes les autres régions de Roumanie ( Transylvanie , Moldavie , Valachie ) ainsi que de nombreux autres territoires . 4. La Roumanie n’est pas le pays le plus pauvre de l’Union européenne, c’est la Bulgarie. 5. Le "problème" de la Roumanie n'est pas vraiment un problème. Les Carpates sont des montagnes très praticables traversées par de nombreuses rivières, elles ne sont pas compactes comme les Alpes, l'Himalaya, les Andes ou autres. Actuellement, il existe 6 à 7 grands cols dans les montagnes des Carpates à travers lesquels des routes et des voies ferrées électrifiées existent depuis longtemps. Mais, vraiment, il n'y a toujours pas d'autoroute qui les traverse.

C'est important aussi de relier Pitesti au reste de l'Europe car c'est là qu'est l'usine Dacia.

Les Allemands de Roumanie les Souabes de Banat,une region situee au Sud -Ouest de la Roumanie et les Saxons de la region du sud de la Transilvanie( Brasov-Kronstadt ,Sibiu- Hermannstadt etc)

Superbe vidéo! En effet le réseau routier est en plein changement et a besoin de beaucoup d’investissements. Par contre, l’autoroute entre Craiova et Pitesti existe déjà! C’est la DX12 (Drum Expres) qui n’est pas une autoroute d’un point de vue légal mais se comporte plus ou moins de la même façon, avec quelques différences (Limite de vitesse à 120km/h au lieu de 130 km/h, et des voies plus étroites). Un tronçon de 40km existe déjà, ouvert cet été entre Slatina et Bals, avec le reste qui suivra dans les prochaines années. 😉

He didn't do his homework at all. *Bulgaria had the lowest level of GDP per capita in the EU in 2021, followed by Greece, Slovakia and Croatia* so Romania is definitely not the "poorest"

Guardate che la Romania non è un paese povero, la Romania ha miniere d'oro,argento,uranio, una vegetazione e una fauna invidiabile da altri paesi, circa 32 saline(se ricordo bene la ai miei 74 anni), laghi, fiumi, la Delta del DANUBIO che ospita migliaia di tipi di uccelli, alcuni unici al mondo. È il nr. 1 in Europa come importanza, parlo della Delta del DANUBIO. Poi ricordate che è stato un paese sotto dittatura è poi sfruttata da altri paesi che hanno trovato mano d'opera a buon prezzo.Non voglio continuare. Très interessant , une petite remarque cependant : Timisoara n'est pas en Transylvanie mais dans le Banat ... Enfin il y eut aussi en Roumanie dans le Banat des populations françaises originaires de Lorraine qui disparurent à l'issue de la deuxième guerre mondiale. Un village du Vaucluse recueillit de nombreux réfugiès roumains de cette communauté francophone.

First I wish they would finish what they started, A1 hwy between Timishoara and Deva is a very short unfinished section of about 10 km that shows very clearly on your map, you must take a detour on a two lane road (with much traffic) through the local hills and villages. This is such and inconvenience traveling west to east and such a small portion of hwy that if can't be finished then nothing can.

A Kárpátok vonulata 1920-ig, a Magyar Királyság, természetes határvonala volt! Igaz ez Kárpátaljára (Ukrán területen), és a Felvidékre is. ( jelenleg Szlovák terület) Az lenne a természettől való, ha a régi Magyar Megyék, újra az anyaországhoz (Magyarország) tartoznának, ezzel megszüntetve a jelenlegi természetellenes állapotokat, például, a román terület geológiai megosztottságát!

Résidant dans le Limousin j'ai remarqué de plus en plus de communes rajoutant le nom occitan de la commune sous le nom français. Si comme je le pense, les peuples français et européens tendent doucement vers le régionalisme que le fédéralisme, peut être que dans 30 ans on aura des parlements autonomes pour certaines régions.

Le nord de la Bucovine a ete occuppee au fin de WWII par les sovietiques...Dans ce territoire historique moldave (roumain) on vecu le majoritaires moldave/roumaine +70 %....mais aussi de allemands 20%, hongrois, juifs, polones et ucrainiens....Les metodes bienconnus sovietiques on fait qu-aujord'hui les ucrainienes sont 70%, russes 20% ...les natives roumains sont environ 10 %...pas de alllemands, juifs, polones, hongrois...

As a Romanian, i have some objections. 1. Sadly, our biggest problem is the corruption of the government not the geography 2. The gypsy people are called "Rrom" with double "r" not "Rom" only not to be confused with Romanians 3. At the beginning of the video you said that the Roman Empire conquered only the lower part of Romania, Valachia region, wich is half true. They did conquer Valachia, but they also conquered a big part of Transylvania too. Overall the video is well made, very detailed with plenty information. Keep up the good work !

Some additions to the video: The Dacoroman theory is a fable. The theory that the Dacians and the Romanians were one people is fiction. The Romanians originated in the Balkans and moved up from there to Muntenia and Moldavia. The two principalities united in 1862, creating Romania as a state. The Romanians appeared in Transylvania in the 1200s. The area bordered by the Carpathians was part of Hungary until 1920, so it is not surprising that Hungarians live there. The Carpathians were a natural border between Hungary and the principalities. As a result of the Trianon peace treaty, 2 million Hungarians came under Romanian rule (unfortunately, their numbers are decreasing), while only 25,000 Romanians live in Hungary. What is called here the north-western part of Romania was never part of Austria, which is about 400 km from Partium. That was Hungary.
