Empathic horsemanship can look quite boring to a lay person. Very well explained, thanks a lot.

Having trained on the track for many years... What a beautiful breedy horse, who was not blessed with good conformationin frint legs, sadly, he had to hurt. TB's are great, and are very people oriented, smart and also full of it. They more than likely will give you their heart if you will listen.

Hi Warwick, I have a theory why those horses in the clinics calm down so quickly for you. I know you mentioned that you did some work on your mental state, and then of course your tremendous experience and skill, but isn't there something else as well: when you give a clinic, then among all the people there you are the one teaching, the one who knows, and the rest listen. So, you are the leader and they are the followers. Horses see that, too, and as soon as you take their lead rope, they know it's going to be all right because now they are in the hands of the leader here. And interestingly, even you talking to the audience and paying only part of your attention to the horse, does not hinder the situation, and the reason for that is the same: the horse knows that you are the leader talking to other followers, so it is okay if you are not 100% with the horse, because for the horse it is enough to be next to you and he knows he is safe. But once you hand the lead rope back to the owner, the horse thinks: "o-oh, now I have to depend on someone lower in the hierarchy, I don't know about this."

Hey Aikit, When reading your reaction i see you’re thinking and try to understand and this is a first step into an expressing about it... no matter the expressions are wrong or right. Horses don’t think and when they give you a tiny leadership, even when it’s just for a few minutes, i ask you to think about if this is based onto your “human” knowledge, experience, skills or horsemanship talking and talking! Think! I give some explanation.: onto the globe you only got a few thousand people who understand on the spot the animals. From those you got a large amount they never come in contact with animals and live their daily normal human lives, others of this group come in contact with dogs, cats, lions, horses etc.. From this last group you got “regular people” who have “a” pet animal, some do stuff and tricks, some do sort of competition, some are teacher or trainer! You have to realise that 98% of this group don’t know what they are doing with their build in “animal” ability... the 2% who’s leftover try to understand what they’re doing (wordless) and from those 0,5% can duplicate and explain and teach to another human! First rule don’t think into the place of a horse, let the horse “be” a horse. I mean you don’t have to analyse and explain every ear, neck, nose, lead rope and slag into it etc etc... or your position or the horse position or your material. Cause when you do, you block your level where the horse gonna put you onto the leadership level “he’ll” give you! It’s not because you’re a great CEO, professor, great teacher, horse teacher, horsemanship man or public speaker.. that you’re horse gonna recognize you as a “leader” ... not at all !! Humans have to got an certain dash, in the horse world many think that this dash has to be arrogance, often trainers with some results and tiny build in animal ability start their profession with arrogance cause they work for wealthy citizens, can work with expensive horses and has to drive big and expensive horse trucks all belonging to the rich guy! Some stays so for years, and what’s goes wrong is always others.. and some change, improve and try’s to understand themselves ... and from that point this change will be appreciate by the horses. What i want to say is that sometimes people with a build in animal ability and with good intentions and who’s become a little humble are still grasping in the dark to find the correct pad! Will they find the correct pad? When they open themselves and become more humble, yes! For you my friend and only when you want it i can explain in detail what you have to do to control such kind of horses like in the video on the spot! Yes you... no matter how many hours you practice before on so-called horsemanship exercise. Even when your a beginner. Just let me know! Hope you’re ok in this infection period!

My original reaction was as long as 3 pages and i have to cut... the day you understand how you have to be to connect on the spot, so immediately, with any horse... this day you gonna understand trainers who can manage a whole group of horses such as my friend Jean Francois Pignon or his brother Frederique.... have a nice day and stay in touch without touching!! Bob

It is such a good video explaining how you can help the horse and help the human understand what the problem is. One day riding schools will teach about the horse as. first lessons, rather than riding, just simple how the horse works, how he things, his body language and also teach the human how to understand the horse.

Wondering how the remarkable response to being touched or flicked at on the upper rump might correspond with Sharon Wilsie's (Horse Speak) observations about the "hip drive button." In her understanding, horses nudge or point at that area to get the other horse to move along, and the horse being moved is "submissive to the one driving." Maybe it's not just about drawing attention to the human, but also taps into an innate horse communication channel.

I think another thing about that mouth movement is habit from a sore mouth caused by too much pulling on the bit.

Racehorses are trained to know that when you pull on the reins, they go faster. This no doubt also contributes to a sore mouth. In horse races, the jockeys' reins are so tight I imagine the horse has to yank his head down to move properly at a gallop.

Rules, methods, regulations etc... are part of our daily live, to often people look for the correct approach or methods for their horses.. and have to look after the correct therapist, psychologist for a kind of training and exercises to perform themselves to be more understandable for the horse . Often they change, even without knowing, and still they have no connection! It doesn’t work... why? Explanation.: In between the dozen of therapist and psychologist i cross their pad on a clinic or on a one on one lesson... non of them could control a horse! And one by one they have daily lots of people/patients they have to help into their daily practical rooms! Why don’t they have the ability too control a horse even when they have all the cards into their pocket too help the people with stress and stuff? In fact, it is very simple, but they can not translate “it” to horse behaviour! They focus them self from a human perspective side... and this is not horse level! Better is to think and transform “mindfulness” into “horse fullness and mindless” Animals and horses in particular can not form or have an idea of something they see because they live in a complete silence of the mind and a natural tranquility. As they read the unconscious human, they are so polluted by the uninterrupted flow of the mental activities of the horsemen and emotional effects that they not bind immediately and not even after weeks! It’s like a three degree black belt who’s in front of an opponent and doing some mindfulness... they gonna blow is head off! In bushido, you have to be aware, balanced, calm, in a certain mind level of control and very vigilant.... same with horses ... you become trustworthy and “they” will stay on your side. But nevertheless doing some mindfulness training will help with certain horse levels and you have a pad to work on to get some results after a while. Charismatic, strong horses (leaders) and horses in a shell that’s an other approach to bind with them on the spot!
