Purgatory is never mentioned in the Bible and is a term made up by Catholicism! The Bible is very clear that when you die you are in the presents of the Lord. The perfect example of this is the thief on the cross. Luke 23-43 "Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Of cause in this case this thief was saved from Hell as he believed in Jesus being the son of God at the last moment of his life. Clearly there are many verses that tell us of the moment we die you will in the presents of the Lord. The Apostle Paul indicates this. The phrase “absent from the body” is found in 2 Corinthians 5:6-8. Paul states that he is confident in his eternal destiny and longs for the day when he can be “absent from the body” and be present with the Lord he loves and serves. To be “absent” from one’s body simply means to die because, at death, the spirit is separated from the body and moves into its eternal abode-either heaven with the Lord or hell, separated from God for eternity. Do not believe this false and misleading doctrine of the Catholic church it will only bring you despair and disillusion to your eternal salvation. Your sins have been paid for in full by the perfect sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, John 19:30. Past, present and future the moment you believe and trust in the free Grace through FAITH you are sealed by the Holy Spirit and your salvation is eternally secure...READ YOUR BIBLE!

The entire Catholic Mass is based on the Bible, so please don't preach to me to read my bible.If you are going to correct someone, you should be doing it with love. Everything you have said doesn't make sense to me because you don't sound like a Christian . You sound onlly full of anger and contempt. I am getting quite tired of you who are antiCatholic being so rude towards us and our faith that you clearly don't understand. The word purgatory is not in the bible, but the meaning is. Yes, we have given it a name just as hell was given a name, and heaven was given a name. I would encourage you before you try to correct me and my faith that you have no knowledge about, to try to learn more about the Catholic faith and then come back and argue.

Oh I've seen purgatory. I say Rosery. So here's what your telling me. As an example all Cocaine dealers who cause Deaths and mayhem murders go right to heaven..WELL WHATCHA KNOW.and PONZI SCHEME PEOPLE TOO.right to God. Jesus did all this on Earth so these people could SIN and Have no Problems Entering HEAVEN. 😊. wooo that is called. THE WAY TO HEAVEN NO PROBLEMS.

Hey Rob... if you are going to argue 'semantics,' the word Trinity is not in the Bible either... but hey, JW, for example, are anti-trinitarian, right? Despite how abundantly clear it is found in Scripture that God is a Trinity of Three distinctive Divine Persons, yet ONE GOD. Regarding the true Doctrine of Purgatory, the Lord says in His Word through 2 Maccabees 12:46, "It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from sins" and also says in Matthew 5:26 that "You will not get out until you have paid the last penny" and also St. Paul testifies that you will be saved through "fire" if you suffer the loss of your works due to the justice of God and His secret judgments at the hour of your death (1 Corinthians 3:15) On top of the Holy Scriptures from our Canon of 73 Books assembled by us (Catholics) in the Councils of Rome, Carthage, and Constantinople ages before protestants would split Christendom in the West, we have the awesome testimony of the Saints such Blessed Shaffer, or here today through Princess Eugenia... there are countless others in the history of the Church. So if you don't believe, that is your problem, and certainly not a place I would want to be in my relation with Jesus Christ, as HE commands us to believe and uphold His Doctrine (all of it) per Matthew 28:18-21.
