They do give off of the plain humans using smoke and mirrors to stay in the good graces with the pharaoh and the court. And the blood in the river is like how God is showing Rameses that the blood is the same as Seti I spilt to keep the slaves in line and reduce the numbers. Sort of like a haunting from the past deeds, coming back to haunt the royals. And the 10 Plagues of Egypt are set in motion 😨

1:55 I just noticed the detail where unlike the river, the “blood” in that bowl is more watery and less thick compared to the guards who were in the Nile.

Egypt is full of records of stage magic and alchemy (misunderstood chemistry). Throughout the film, the Egyptian magicians are doing neat tricks, but Moses does True Wonders

When the priests imitate Moses' wonders, it's always made clear that they are mere tricks and sleights of hand. Even when they turned sticks into snakes, the cinematography made it seem more like a stage magician's trick, which I think is a cool detail (the Bible just states that the priests were able to do the same things as Moses).

They had no choice. Their professions, pride and maybe even lives depended on it. If they admit that they can’t do it, it would bring them great shame and maybe even anger Rameses. They’d be admitting that their gods, whom they’ve worshipped for millennia, are false.

Funny thing, is that the Egyptian Priests would not have evoked the name of the Sun God Ra, rather they would have evoked the name of Amun or Amun-Ra instead, since worship of Ra had merged with the god Amun by the time of the New Kingdom under Ramses II. But everyone knows that.
