This common land from karlov manor when used along side the bulwark can make your pride unblockable and helps search for lands in the early game. I have been brewing a lot with insidious roots, and I do agree that the one opponent's deck looked very fragile to graveyard hate. Vilespawn spider and cruel somnophage are very slow cards in the shell that lend themselves to getting blown out. Cruel somnophage in particular doesn't really make any sense to me because triggering roots shrinks it... However, the deck is actually very resilient to graveyard hate, as the best answer, i.e exile your whole graveyard at once, still triggers roots and you really shouldn't be all in on having your whole graveyard the whole game. I think ideally you should continually refill with tyvars, archaeologists, and butlers (which feed into eachother recursively). Colossal skyturtle allows you to also be resilient to a degree to enchantment/artifact hate, as long as it's not Tear Asunder. The one thing that the deck really is just dead to is farewell. What a fun card design!!

It kinda blows my mind that so many magic streamers seem to not know basic Japanese pronunciation, just because the crossover in nerddom between Magic and "Fan of anime/manga" seems like it would be high. Maybe it's two separate species of nerds. But the Otawara and Takenuma pronunciations can get pretty wild, and somehow Seth can even mispronounce Eiganjo half the time from what I remember. I think I usually hear Boseiju at least close enough to right to not worry, and same with Sokenzan. But "Tayk-noo-ma" just kills me. "OH-twa-ra" hurts a LITTLE less I suppose, at least I can pretend the first two syllables are just ellided or something. There is no forgiving pronouncing "Take" as "Tayk" though.
