Im not familiar with his sexuality in specific, but strictly they're not incompatible. Many folk are asexual but not aromantic, i.e they still experience romantic attraction but don't wanna bone. Such an individual might readily take the label of gay, if they only desire a (non-sexual) romantic relationship with a man.
