I will never forget him.

I love Rod's energy during this particular episode while battling cancer, still having the booming voice and style. A fighter until the bitter end, he will always be on one of my favorite television announcers. R.I.P Rod.

Rod Roddy replaced Johnny Olson after Johnnys passing in the mid 80’s. But he was the voice of Price is Right and was a character.

RIP Rod Roddy.

Fun Fact: Travis Schario, the contestant who played and won Lucky Seven in this episode, later became the lead designer for the TPiR board game!

This must have been one of Rod Roddy’s last shows as announcer. I believe he died only a few weeks after this.

It’s coming back.

In memory of Jan Hooks, and Ennis Cosby.

Just before Rod Roddy would die, he would make his last appearance in the taping @ 3:10. He has lost a lot of weight, even after surgery.

Syd was the person who succeeded Bob Barker as the executive producer for the first two seasons of the Drew Carey era of TPIR.

This is Roooooddddd Roddy speaking for the price is right a mark goodson television production.

6:27 They actually used the same theme from "The Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour" for the Cadillac Reveal, this was probably the last time that theme was used in a new episode of any game show.

Not quite. In the 40th season premiere, the MGHSH theme was used again when a contestant played Race Game for four, count them, four automobiles.

LOL Miss Bloom 2:27 - that was AWKWARD! NO, Mr. Vinnedge! 2:46 You don't take Bob's microphone! This was filmed about three months before Rod passed, too.

Syd Vinnage's speech was long, boring, and not funny, and they had to rush through the show because of it. Mark Goodson was much more entertaining, and Goodson-Todman were the all-time best game show producers.

well the whole fremantle no announcers on camera policy was just a cover up. Supposedly bob and rod had a falling out because rod wanted more money for the specials before season 31 so bob got pissed and took his camera time away.

That's what made the show stand out, it's outdated set. People liked it, and they didn't want to see it changed.
