The prettiest neighborhood in Reno Nevada : Galena Forest Estates

Ойын-сауық

#mixflip #galenaforestestates #reno
In January 2021 Reno got hit with a huge winter snow storm. So we went for a drive up to the mountains to play in the snow. On the way back to town we stopped by my favorite neighborhood....Galena Forest Estates in south Reno.
Its way out of our price range but if we ever have the opportunity to move there...we would do it in a heartbeat. It's beautiful!
Maybe someday if we sell our house and my parents sell their house, we could have enough to all live in one house in this neighborhood lol.

just needed to tell you that Jesus Christ loves you so much and He will save us from our sins if we put our faith and trust in Him! because we all sinned and fell short of Gods perfect glory (romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is eternal death! (romans 6:23) but the gift of God is this john 3:16-21 "for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. this is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposes. but whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God." and romans 10:9-13 "if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. for it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. as scripture says, "anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame. "for there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." so God is coming at a time we least expect, and if we put our faith and trust in Him He will gift us His grace and clothe us with the righteousness of His blood (but of course death could not hold Him, He is risen!) and we will have eternal life in His kingdom where there will be there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying. there will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. because He loves you so much! (romans 5:6-8) but if we deny and reject Him and don't repent from our sins to follow God, then we will have our part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. because no liar, no thief, no blasphemer (using Gods name in vain as a cuss word to express anger or disgust) and no adulterer (Jesus Christ says in matthew 5 that anyone who just looks at someone to lust for they’re an adultery at heart) will enter the kingdom of heaven. so hear these words, repent and believe the gospel! accept Jesus Christ and confess your sins to Him so that He will forgive you and give you a life with truth and real love and joy and peace that this world can never give you or fulfill in you you! and the love and joy and peace that He will give you will never fade away or perish. this is all if you haven't done this yet and Jesus Christ hasn't saved you yet, also when you have time please you should watch this channel here on youtube called "Christ forgiveness ministries" and hear what they have to say, glory to God. God bless you! 🙌👑💟

Would of course, prefer Tahoe... lived there in youth, all by my lonesome in a “cabin.” More like a shack... but it was AWESOME! This area of Reno is gorgeous tho, with snow. 😊 Husband wants to move to Virginia City. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Not happenin’, well I guess it could happen if he moves there by himself. 😁 Blah blah blah... yep, that’s me. Again, thanks for sharing! Will definitely check this out when we visit next. I’m sure way outta price range, but can dream.

My friend bought a house in the west side closer to the California border off of hwy 80 called Mogul. It's tucked away in the hills with views of the mountains and Tahoe beyond it. That might be a bit more affordable and closer to town. Verdi is basically like this video but with the addition of the famous Truckee river running through it. Probably too expensive. Virginia city has a suburb called Virginia highlands that might be fun if you like snow and hills. Their views off Geiger grade rd are amazing!!! Lakeside Estates in North Carson is similar to this video as well. 5 minutes from the Capitol. Good luck. My parents want to move to Reno too.

I've been up in Reno for 2 years now and no dust storms yet. Vegas for sure had dust storms though. Home prices are higher than Vegas. Probably because of the economic boom brought to the area by Tesla Panasonic Google and amazon in the city limits of Sparks. Also the exodus of Californians. They sell their homes in the bay area for 1 million dollars then buy a mansion or 1 acre ranch in Reno for $500k. Demand is high. Inventory is low.

Hmm, I'd have to agree. I'm from the area. This is not your average Reno scene. This is more akin to what it's like in Tahoe and obviously this is up in elevation above the Timberline. This is not the true day to day Reno most folks are likely experience. Down below in Reno ''proper" it is naturally a high desert sagebrush type of scene with Cottonwoods near the river and irrigation ditches with the beautiful mountains with the alpine forest as a constant backdrop to one side and the lower brown desert ranges on all other sides. Urban and suburban sprawl with some cattle ranches still holding out in nooks and crannies. If one were to up and move to Reno, chances are this is not what their neighborhood would look like at all, so yes, it is a bit misleading. So, mixflip and Pamela Wing, it doesn't mean we deny it exists or don't agree that it is beautiful, it's just not the true Reno most will see and what is most representative of our city.

@@derekmcdonald3029 at no point did anyone say this neighborhood is represtative of a "common" neighborhood in Reno. And at no point did anyone say this is a normal neighborhood in Reno and this is what you should expect if you move here. There are dozens of neighborhoods in the Reno "area". This is just one. Just like when I lived in Vegas...its a valley with lots of neighborhoods and even cities that border the city of Vegas like North LV and Henderson but it's all just a bunch of homes in a valley. Reno is similar. You can live above the treeline, you can live downtown, you can live in damonte ranch, you can live in sun valley, North valleys, Sparks, Spanish springs, palomino valley, hidden valley, Mogul, paradise valley, New washoe city or Lockwood...at the end of the day....its all basically Reno. For example...When you go on vacation in Hawaii and someone asks you where are you from? You just say Reno. Not Galena forest Estates lol. Why? Because Galena "is" Reno.

Great Video, I am going to follow your channel. I lived in Grass Valley, CA for many years (down the hill from Reno, past Squaw Valley on Hwy 20). I miss that area a lot. I moved to Kansas to get away from the politics (and help with family)and actually couldn't find any affordable rentals back in CA after fires, etc. I want to move back to Reno area, but am not wealthy. What area would be the best for me, but not to live downtown? I make less than 40,000 a year, would even live in a small town outside of Reno if there are no areas for me.

I know grass valley my cousin lives in Folsom and I used to live in Sacramento. Reno is currently experiencing an economic boom with Tesla relocating here and the exodus of Californians selling their homes for $1 million dollars and using that cash to buy homes in the Reno area. This is killing the affordable housing market. Inventory is low so even if you had money many people just aren't selling so all that's left are new construction....and those homes have waiting lists now. Your only option is to rent or buy 1 hour away like in Fallon or Dayton. Fernly and Yerington might be an option too. You can forget Minden and Gardnerville. Views of the Sierra Tahoe range makes that area impossible to buy on $40k a year.
