Improvement isn't a linear track. particular if some of their players end up being sought after. people were expecting Brighton to maybe even make a play at the CL spots this season. instead they're guaranteed to finish at least 6 points worse off than last season, even if they win all their remaining games, which are Newcastle, Villa, Man Utd and Chelsea.... so a more likely potential scenario is finishing 18 points worse off.

Iraola's Rayo Vallecano in LaLiga was also pretty good for having very limited resources, he promoted them to first division and then established them in mid table, they also got into semifinals in Copa del Rey in his second season there, so I would say Bournemouth just needs to fully trust him and for sure they will be in the top half of the table next year.

I’ve watched a fair few of these tactical breakdowns now and it really does seem to me that a majority of managers pretty much coach their teams to play the same way, just minor tweaks and variations based on personnel along the way.
