That is really quite impressive. Production line tolerances tend to creep in unless kept to a set standard. And that was a phenomenal achievement back then.

Can't find a complete set of these and going rate (as an antique) I suppose, but those prices from 90 or so years ago ARE STEEP. But, I suppose if you need to have them, you have to pay. I did find Mitutoyo Gage Block Sets for 6740.50 and 4839.20. That's the company that makes expensive calipers, that Harbor Freight clones the look of and sells for 20 bucks.
2 millionths of an inch? That's an argument for Merika to use the metric system if nothing else.
