Love the viewing angle in this game. Glad they didn't just reflexively go full 3D. This is the type of game that deserves to give an overhead layout of the landscape and people.

@@DisgruntledDoomer Are we defining full 3D in terms of perspective or actual environment? In gaming terms and in terms of interactivity, usually we define it from the perspective of play rather than a mundane or literal "it's in three dimensions." By that logic we could call Final Fantasy Tactics to be a "fully 3D game!" as all or most objects are rendered in three dimensions.

@@VesperAegis are you sure this isn't just regular 3d? If you shifted the camera to be over the shoulder it would just be a regular third person shooter. There's a game on steam called "HATRED" that has this style camera and someone made a first person mod for it. It's just a regular 3d game with a top down perspective

@@zacharycarrier2890 Yup, I'm positive. Same argument as above. Perspective and the way you interact with a game makes the game objectively different, and is reflected by design decisions. By the same token you could take almost any FPS game or survival game, translate the camera up, and say "Oh, this is how it was supposed to be all along! This is what actual 3D is." Of course for some you'd kill immersion, and for others you want to distance yourself from that immersion in order to take the entire environment and interactive elements in(such as NPCs here). The design elements work this way for a reason. It's a blessing if for no other reason than current gen gamers who know nothing but FPS games are exposed to isometric and more distant third-person gaming, ostensibly detached from the action.

This looks amazing! So few games where you can play as a police office, but without being a boring simulation.

This actually looks phenomenal. Love the isometric-esque view and art style. It does look like it's running at alow framerate or the video isn't rendered smoothly enough.

@muhammadnabil3390 Why did you "conveniently" leave out the detail that Roger Fortson answered his door while holding a gun, pointing downward to the floor. The deputy sheriff might've jumped the gun, but it's hard not to panic when that's the first thing you see.

This is literally the other half of GTA1. They wanted to make a cops and robbers game, but decided being robbers was more fun so they made GTA. This one is the cops part.
So unique camera angle mixed with the visual style
Im glad some game developers haven't gave up on this style

They should release the Gotham dlc where you play as commissioner Gordon in his early days as a cop catching criminals, then moving on to detective, where you occasionally see Batman taking to the skies and fighting criminals in the street.

Cops could finally play a game where they could exert their power fantasy in-game instead of the real life.
Reminds me of old school GTA, but you play as a cop rather than a criminal. This game would translate well on the Steam Deck.
Looks interesting, hope there's a physical disc release one day.
