I relate when she's just laughing but when she found out that it's a prank, she cried. It felt the same whenever we are pretending that we're happy just so we won't cry and then when a sudden person comfort and embrace us, we will cry too. I love you, Liz! My first bias in IVE.

She’s not even fat. She’s at a healthy and attractive weight. Most idols are under weight and almost Skeleton like. I’m from North America where we prefer a healthy, toned, well shaped body than stick skinny. She’s such a beautiful young lady

Shes not fat. I think some people called her fat because the other members are much more petite/thin than her. Just like Jiwoo from nmixx. I love how the way they are now people are degrading them.

My issue with this prank is - imagine the amount of stress she is under, being in a very popular yet still rookie group, to maintain her/IVE's image. And one of the most damning image scandals lately has been situations where idols have been found to mistreat staff/acting arrogantly behind the scenes. This is the exact type of situation where, if a staff member wanted to get revenge on an idol, they could use it as an example/twist the narrative in a way that could easily be corroborated by other staff to claim the idol was acting rudely towards them or taking advantage. Just not funny tbh and she was probably scared of the impression it would make.

Haven't seen the whole episode yet but...Think those scandals are a part of the reason they did this. I know every company does a lot behind the scenes to educate and protect their idols on how to avoid landmines to varying degrees of success. Seems like this is a three birds one stone type thing, education (assuming she'll get advice on what she should have done later but just thinking back on it herself could be useful), experience being filmed unexpectedly in a suddenly stressful situation over something small and content. Dunno how effective this method was really, but the company and other members are in somewhat the same boat worrying about image. Having the youngest along with the two "Professional Idols" Yujin and Wonyoung watching was probably thought out as well. Leeseo seems the most vulnerable not just because shes the youngest but, also still in school. Sure they are all worried about her considering what classmates jealousy can bring about.

I didn’t want to name drop her because the conversation wasn’t really about that, I love Red Velvet and didn’t want to make it seem like I was throwing her under the bus in any way. But you’re right, it’s an example of an image scandal involving staff, with tons of conflicting perspectives that has really been tough for the idol to fight. I think Irene’s done well to show she’s reflected and grown from her experiences but it’s not an easy scandal to move on from.

As an idol they might scold her and that's the end, but as staff it could be the worst thing happening to their career. How heartless to see a scared someone and not help them.
