    I'm looking at building my first ITX PC to downsize from my big ATX PC that I built earlier this year with a 12600K & a 3060, I'm also looking to eventually upgrade to a 7800 XT. I like how it's a bit bigger than some of the really small SFF PC's to allow for more hardware compatibility but still be small enough to be an ITX case, I also really like how the IO is up top with it too.

    That's exciting! This case seems like a great fit for what you plan to do with it. Personally, I am so happy with the size of the PC. It can fit on my desk, on my entertainment center, or on the floor without taking up a lot of room and it's pretty light weight. It looks tiny up next to my Fractal Design Torrent but, like you mentioned, has plenty of space for high end hardware.

    I'm planning on building a new pc soon and it will be my first build entirely for myself without having a more experienced friend guide me through it. I'm going ambitious and doing a small ITX build because they're by far my favorite... I'm just stuck on cooling setups because making sure everything will fit, and then on top of that figuring out an effective arrangement for cooling (in most cases) seems difficult. Using your video as a reference is helping me understand the process a lot better!

    This is a great starting point for a first ITX build. Since it's got the power supply and cooler already installed it let's you focus on the fun parts being the mobo installation and the graphics card. Then you can add in fans as you figure out how your components perform in the setup. You'll have lots of fun. Stop by later to share how the build goes, if you'd like.

I chose this one for my 2nd rig, I have this case with an i9 12900K, RTX 3080 64GB DDR5 64000Mhz and a 2TB 990 Pro, i was gonna put my 4090 in from my main gaming PC but i'm not sure it will fit lol but i love this case it's awesome. I've been a Mac person since I went all in for a IIcx in 1990, but this idea of building your own is kind of fascinating to me. I especially like this more compact case and cooling system you describe as relatively quiet. Can that small case be pushed up to using the highest level desktop CPUs available (whatever the fastest i9 or Ryzen is right now) and, say, a maxed out 4090 GPU? I'm curious how far you could take that compact and quiet total package in terms of performance. Please be forgiving of my lack of experience with x86 builds. My approach has been when my current workstation or laptop will no longer do what I need it too, I buy the highest spec Apple Pro workstation or laptop I can find on the Apple refurbished store, and I typically keep using them for five to seven years.

  • @TaylorBrauer

    I believe so. I've seen some video out there with 4090s and the most power cpus from AMD and Intel. I would have put my 4080 in here but it was just too long. I think the only 4090s that fit are the generic ones from Nvidia. The form factor is so nice. I have have it on my desk and it's like a little windows Mac Studio equivalent. I'd still probably prefer the Mac Studio. Maybe some day.

  • @JamieR

    @JamieR

    It can, but you will need to swap the PSU, possibly the cooler and get two bottom 140mm x 15mm fans doing in push config, creating negative space. Meaning you pull in air from the vented side panels, and then push it out from the top and bottom. Meaning both components get fresh air and stop recycling of hot air from blasting them with the heat. Would also need a solid undervolt on both parts as well. I've seen it done, so it is possible!

    I've had none whatsoever. This is my main gaming PC and it's handled everything without crashing or stuttering. I can't speak to any issues paring it with an AMD card because I keep it paired with Nvidia. I've only used it with Windows 11 too so maybe the chipset drivers are more mature on 11. The only thing I really don't do with this CPU is expect it to work well with video editing since it doesn't really have the cores to perform well in those tasks. Thanks! Have a good one.

    you may wanna watch some itx building guides from professional itx experts like optimum tech or gear seekers, as well as machines and more, your bottom fan setup is not and intake fan that's an exhaust and given than the top radiator that came pre-mounted by CM they are working as exhaust fans and blowing air into the radiator and then out of the case from the top, with all that being said,you have created a negative pressure inside of your case despite using the ventilated panel, and that TG panel was the stupidest idea from CM ever made, those kind of cases especially us itx builders dont really care about esthetics and looking into the internals , however good thermal performance is the major problem here,

  • @TaylorBrauer

    @TaylorBrauer

    Ай бұрын

    Thanks, yeah those are some good builders. I did make a mistake with the bottom fan being exhaust that I quickly caught but not before releasing the video lol. The glass panel does reduce thermals but not to significant degree. While I prefer the ventalated side panel the vertical graphics card is really nice to look at through the glass. It would be even better with some good interior lighting.

    Thank you! idk, I'm not much into messing with voltages since cooling isn't really an issue. I'll consider it though.

    @@christophermullins7163what is the point of policing a label like this? For many, ITX MBO or PSU is enough to call it SFF because it indicates a case that is willing to trade convenience, airflow, etc. For a smaller size.

    @@joelman1989 it's a technicality for technicality sake. It's a fucking PC for god sakes.. All that exists is technicality. It's simply not "sff".. it's a small standard case. I just wish people would use correct terminology because a lot of PC geeks that have been in the game for a while will have the standard sff idea and be totally throw off when you see this small standard shaped PC. What do we have in this life but sticking to terminology set by large companies in the years past so that we all know what each other is talking about? He can call it anything else in the world that he would like.
