Have you heard the news of a an Indonesian Protestant girl ,who was comatose .She suddenly woke up and told her parents that a beautiful woman woke her up and taught her how to make the sign of the cross .Her parents were shocked as only Catholics in their country make the SO the C . One day ,they visited a Catholic Church .Then the girl saw Mary's statue and told her parents that she was the one ,who woke her up !

Some practice in our home is to bless the forehead with the sign if the cross immediately after gettin g up from the bed. assured protectiom. Yes sign of the criss is definitely a symbol of protection and we believe that.

A few years back I started to ask for God’s blessing on my food before I consume them. I fall sick less often and have less health problems. But I also adopted a heathier lifestyle. I believe much is that I would pray before the meal.

There is a very strict scientific and extensive vetting of certain alleged healings related to the holy waters at Lourdes. The Catholic church requests the highest form of scientific/medical study into this in order to confirm the truth and not all healings are even deemed worthy of investigation but when God chooses to bless humanity this way, no one must deny God His glory!

I always make the cross when praying and afterwards. Even when I attend protestant churches. It is like inviting the Holy God and thank Him afterwards. Amen follows after the sign of the cross.

The apostles in turn did the same. St Paul blesses handkerchiefs that were sent to his followers with the hope they be used for healing. So when a priest or bishop blesses the water at Easter that then becomes the Holy water, he does so as a follower of Jesus and the apostles. When Jesus was baptized, he blessed the water through his baptism. It is not the water that cleansed him, but the water that was blessed, so much so that if we bring back water from the Jordan river, that water can be used for baptism in the catholic and eastern churches, as it is still blessed 2000 years afterJesus blessed it by his presence. Holy waster is in the bible, not just not expressed in ways the learned can see.

important points that you missed are that Holy water blessed by catholic priest are truly the blood of Jesus. I know a priest in my country state an exorcist, a member of deliverance ministry) who when performed exorcism prayer, the devil manifested and created many unbelievable destructions and then when that priest made the binding prayer and sprinkled the holy water, the devil flew away from that person. The second thing is that science will never discover the spiritual realm present in any holy objects with any of the advanced machines. Only the one who is filled with the holy spirit can determine what is inside or what kind of power is working behind each person or an object or even a place. River Ganges is not a holy place according to catholic church. It is the belief of Hindu that it is sacred. They do lot of rituals for the god of their own hand made, which are abominable to the god of who actually created them, they throw lot of things in it and thus pollute it.
