A great reminder that even with social media content trying to keep us engaged (more just active and clicking) at all times for consumer short-attention-spans, movies still have such power that the short-span content can't really recreate. there's plenty ppl trying hard to turn social media into genuine entertainment/art, but those platforms don't incentivise that creativity, and they just want us spending every second scrolling for advertisement. Thats why just taking 2 hours out of your day, no distractions, watching a movie, can really be good for all of us, to unwind, to engage, not to be high-strung on doomscrolling or constant distraction.
Not yet finished ur video, but I was worried for a sec that the thumbnail was some new complaint about Zegler and Snow-White 'controversy'. A bit of a random rant but West Side Story is a great example of the power of cinema, it felt like a true return to form for Spielberg, and how remakes can be done right, and retelling that old story in a modern way that doesn't ruin anything, it adds to it. Rachel Zegler is a really brilliant actress and I hope she goes far from that great breakout role, because she seems like such a genuinely positive, fun and joyful person, not tainted by the sort of Hollywood system and fame destroying actor's personal lives. Especially great seeing someone my age, who's not restricted to just the sort of stereotype Gen-Z.
