The only Fallen we ever see these days is that Loki Wannabe Megatronus design from Aligned/IDW. At least the RID is a little closer to the DW iteration.

I purchased the premium finish of maketoys' striker manus for $90CAD from robotoybase in box a few weeks ago and it seemed to have held up pretty well. probably due to not having any gimmicks in the figure its jut a straight forward base figure. aside from a couple paint chips in a few spots, its actually held up pretty well. there are some tab sections that are tight going into the transformation but as far as I'm concerned, not even any stress marks on the figure after several transformation.

I've got one of those combined with Buster Stealthwing.

I've had this guy and the "Marine type" limbs for the tank for quite a while. Was definitely worth the purchase. Others have cycled on and off my shelf.. but this guy's been rocking my shelf this entire time.

I got this guy the year it came out. He’s held up pretty okay. The arms on the combined mode are incredibly loose and don’t stay up. Also the foot gattling mode is for the smaller mode.

I feel like most maketoys figures are gonna be loose. I got the protectobots today and 2 of them are unusable due to loose joints. That being blades and the ambulance.

Pcc was a gem, all of them (except double clutch and salvage) are great. The maketoys jungle type is one of my grails because of another grail, Heavytread. Btw the fact that you can disassemble the body into modules was something make toys made for playability. They all become smaller weapons for other pccs but it looks clunky and messy, like if a kid wore boxes as armor etc

I have Doubleclutch, leg came clean off plus ball joint from the crotch region, accidentally glued his leg to the ball joint trying the put the ball joint back. I keep him in his only good mode, the car mode.

I got this guy back in the day and I still have him on display, honestly, he is cooler looking that the movie Fallen, I wish Hasbro would do an offical G1 Fallen based upon his Dreamwave appearance, they done nothing with the Dreamwave desgins in years, I always wanted a War within Optimus prime from Hasbro that wasn't made of metal and poorly done! The only thing, I never noticed about this figure, is the fact his hands detach but then I keep him in full Robot mode holding his sword with the cannons on the shoulders hanging down, third party use to be great options at times, but now, they are all about four things: 1. Gap fillers 2. Accessories 3. Legends scale figures 4. MP scale figures

There’s no reason for Hasbro to ignore War Within since they’ve been stuck on G1 pandering mode and there’s only so many times you can redo the classic designs.

I remember this being one of my first 3rd party toys. I was incredibly disappointed that there were no figures of the fallen after reading the Dreamwave comics and after looking through some ebay listings I randomly stumbled upon this guy. Thanks for the small glimpse of nostalgia

Now we just need a MASSIVE upscaled version of this boy

litterally when it said the this video is for adult collectors i just got an ad for a game about the main character and a random character making out and it immediently just stoped

Maketoys, mmc and planet X were the gems under the heavy rising of G1 homogeneous figures, I adored their galaxy meteor in videos but never had the chance to get it and thanks to their financial issues and G1 monotony only keeping them afloat via seekers I doubt it'll get a reprint and that hurts. They provided neat figures like thunder Manus/Erebus, previous mentioned galaxy meteor that mimicked the show model to a T, and this the fallen even with some issues by what you said looks so good to a tribute to the Dreamwave version of the fallen

I hope we can see an official fallen transforming toy that looks like this someday

There was the Titanium version, but like other figures in that line, lots of compromises were definitely made.

man seeing Heavytread in this vid makes me remember how much I want some of these pcc torsos. him, the boat and the mining drill dude look amazing, so does Steamhammer tbh

Honestly PCCs downfall was twofold: no recognized characters in it... And some God awful limbs for the gimmick. It is a shame too because if you get the Mobine tanks or Iron Army limbs for Heavy Tread and Bombshock, you get two amazing Gestalts... Even if they're a bit short.

@@CodeXCDM The Iron Army limbs are some interesting figures (some tight tolerances on the transform sequences) and they really make the Bombshock mold into a nice little combiner.

I remember the Armor Portion was also sold as its own and meant for other PCC Scouts, I remember Peaugh reviewing it

I wish the sword would connect a bit better in alt mode on mine, but I love it. The only other big wish there, is I wish they did more of these.

This took me from having no idea the PCC upgrades existed to having to have a set. Robotkingdom has the "Marine" Mobine set in stock for $67 so I bought one. Now I'll need to dig through my storage and see if I still own Heavytread...

The small version is like his unassuming disguise he has as he’s hiding among the bots/cons.

I have him on my shelf, and he looks awesome, as "The Fallen". Fully combined and powered up he fits into my mainline figs.

I have this figure. There's also a way to combine his alt modes together into some sort of thing that looks a bit like Metroplex's flying ship mode.

The first 3rd party figure I ever bought. Snapped the neck joint because i was an incompetent child but it was my favorite figure for such a long time. Glad I got the Flame Toys figure to keep the dream alive

8:37 Based on the other Mobine kits (Jungle & Marine), the ports are too tight because the ridges inside that grab onto the pegs are too thick. It's relatively simple to fix if you have a jewelry file. Pull the hands out, open the door and flip the Gatling gun out of the way. This gives you clear access to the port from both sides. Then, just take the file and file away at the ridges until you've removed between 1/3 and 1/2 the height. Test regularly and you'll get them to the point where you can safely pop the turrets in fully without risk of damage.

I have this toy! I particularly love the subtle dark violet. Deep dark violet and orange is a GREAT combinaton of color and I wish Flamewar was in that scheme and not a boring black and orange. I use the machine gun barrels as heels.

I saw emgo review this many many years ago, I remember I searched through all his videos three times trying to find this figure so I could buy one but never found it again and low and behold, this pops up in my recommended

I missed out on this when it first came out, and I regret it more every time I see it on video

6:35 I believe the detachable feet are intended to be weapons for the core robot, as opposed to the combined mode.

Hate how 3p nowdays is just masterpiece style toys or legends scale. Wish we got more creative and original designs/redesigns

I wonder if making the pcc connectors bigger was intentional, because on a lot of pcc toys, early waves in particular, some the drones would just detach constantly from the main body.

the reason why we dont get stuff like this anymore from old days is because of copyright constraints and price getting psycho

They could easily redo this design with the legacy tarn mold. Love this toy though.

I like the cores lower legs. The feet should be upturned so the armor is on top.

This guy was always on my radar, as 1 of two 3P PCC compatible figures I liked the looks of. But I heard early on about the micron difference in Powercore pegs and that swayed me away. Saying that, as an independent figure that can stand alone, all of those extra features are sick. If I ever see one for a sub hundo complete, I will be swayed. Now if I could only get a complete copy of the TFC Iron Army kits for a decent price, my PCCs would be finalized, in my eyes at least.

There's a couple things. Maketoys Mobine sets for PCCs, and the Fallen who's technically stand alone. There's also TFC's Iron Army, which were World War era tanks and planes. Their Ares (Predaking) limb bota are also PCC commanders in the Voyager scale. Sadly they never made beast PCC limbs. Lastly, there's TFC HerQeles, an SD Devastator that has PCC limbs. That figure came out well after PCCs were off the market, and isn't even advertised as a feature.

@@CodeXCDM Excellent call-out, but you might have missed my mention of Iron Army farther down, saying that though I do remember the others you mentioned. Mobine didn't interest me as much, Ares group I remember as being cool but a little too high priced for me at the time. I vaguely remember the HerQ but not being quite interested either. All interesting add ons to the PCC universe just not what I was looking for, tbh. Saying that though, thank you for bringing those up again. Great to hear those names from the past. Funny enough, I am just now paying off shipping, finally, for 2 TT PCC repaint sets that are on my way from Asia. I saw them as part of a deal and said why not, lol . This was all meant to be !

I think he feels amazing. Plastic quality wise. Its not masterpiece level. But it feel like older hasbro figures from the 2000s. Infact id argue he feels better than anything hasbro made that wasnt masterpiece. It honestly sucks that I have to sell him but hes been in my closet since I got him. I got this badboy and it's still my definitive Fallen figure. I hope Has/Tak or another 3rd party do a better one someday, but until that happens this is best!

The foot Gatling gun is for the small bot mode

The gimmicks are vestiges of the other Mobine tanks, in decos that fit a couple PCCs better. I have the green deco and The Fallen. Wish I had the blue Mobine tank. For my Fallen... The big arm cannon snapped when I put it on the shoulder port in too deep. Managed to glue it back but there's a noticable seam now. ;( Oh and I'd you don't care for the mini bot... Pop his head and toss the Fallen's POTP headmaster thing. Looks good having a fiery heart.

I want this figure so much but I can’t find him for a reasonable price. I want a new figure either mass or 3rd party of this version of the fallen, it funny how the only two designs for the fallen I like are the movie and dream wave ones all the others I dislike. I sadly don’t see us getting a new toy of this fallen unless hasbro uses this design in a show or comic again.

I just want a legacy leader fallen based on this version, i always loved the megatron but more look to him, he looks like megatron on steroids and i love him for it, megatron is meant to be based on him anyways

What an awesome Fallen! This has resemblances of Armada Megatron. I'm not a big fan of the movie Fallen; I find him too skeletal for my liking and always reminds me of a Xylophone.

0:25 Upgrade kits aren't even that most of the time anymore. Now you get a bunch of pointless accessories, maybe one or two actual improvements to the figure, and then it's all sold to you for twice the price of the original figure. (Looking at you DNA design!)

The designer for that SND Kit for Optimus died, i think it was recently. Such a loss...

Never liked power core combiners, I have that steam hammer and the dinobot one, the fact the arms and legs are these solid stiff pieces that don’t even have a robot mode is a pretty crappy concept to me… only way it works here is because the limbs actually transform and main purpose is to be a limb.. and not a tiny vehicle… and they aren’t spring loaded limbs… 😅
