A great car which, unfortunately, many have ended up in flipper's hands. Thailand never got the Heritage Pack option, nor PTS option. Yet many European Speedster were bought by flippers. Very very unfortunate.

The baby speedster, 718 spyder is a close 2nd ! Also now, the sypder RS with a PDK.

It should have a more rounded front screen just as the other speedsters..

I get a kick out of a commenters that saying that they have to manually put the top down what about a Lamborghini Aventador??The Aventador will depreciate this thing is going to double in price if not triple one day 20 years from now.this car is not meant to be driven with the top up it's meant to be driven with the top down who cares if it's a manual top??

I got a 981 Spyder, it’s about 1/3 the price! With about 4/5 the performance. Draws attention like you wouldn’t believe.

Stunning car. Even better with a manual gearbox. Sadly, not much different from a Carrera Convertible with a manul gearbox.

Porsche has pretty much stopped making a hardtop convertible with the end of the 997 series of 911s. Back then they offered an optional hardtop, but since then with the 991 and 992 they don’t offer a true removable hardtop. (I was lucky to have ordered my PTS cabriolet S with a hardtop back then and have to say I truly appreciate having the hardtop option at times!).

Talk to you about the price after the winter of 2020. Big changes coming.

The original 356 Speedsters were only available in 1955-1959. (Thank you Max). The 1948 reference in the door sill refers to the first year that Porsche the manufacturer produced a “Porsche” badged car. Only idiots pay over MSRP. Porsche AG does not appreciate dealership who gouge their customers. In the past they have cut allocations to dealers who play that game. Recall the days of the 959. Porsche wouldn’t sell one to anyone who did not have a Porsche buying history with the factory, to reduce speculators.

Only “idiots” pay over MSRP? If you didn’t get the original allocation then you don’t have a choice but to pay over the MSRP if you want a Speedster so I think that’s a pretty ridiculous comment.

Ferrari owners brag how little miles they have. Porsche owners brag how many miles they have. But this car should ALWAYS be a garage queen. Drive it once a week. Will retain and go up in value. I want a garage with Turbo S, GT3 Touring, Singer DLS and either this or a Sharkworks Speedster.

I've noticed so many Brits even the most knowledgeable about Porsche tend to pronounce it that way. Growing up in the US in the 80's it was the same. Yes, now everyone knows better. But honestly, the Brits still say it that way and they really don't care what you think...I like that. Especially when people that know almost nothing about Porsche except how to pronounce the name take the bait and comment.

I dont think much of the soft top, 300 grand and you have to do all the work of opening and closing manually. Not good enough.

Best looking Porsche in a long time but I don’t expect having to put the roof up manually on a car costing that much. I have a push button roof on my 2001 Merc SLK.

Pun intended warning. See 2:24 It is tricky with these center lock nuts. I just complained at the local tire dealer that against my profound (well known) desire of insisting to have the mounting of the center cap Porsche emblem towards the valve is detrimental and to make me be seen as a true street respect earning enthusiast among others, They Failed Miserably. I hurts me even more to see what has done to this car. My day is ruined.

You cannot compare a Corvette any other car even a Lamborghini huracan which might look better or sound better but will depreciate. This car is bound to be a classic.It will definitely be a collector as one of the last naturally aspirated Porsches with the six-speed manual .this is not the car that you take out to drive to get some milk in it's a sunny day car a special car to drive go to car show events etc I guess many of the people on this post do not know any better
