18:25 I would like to see where YHWH was in the Canaanite religion. I have researched the gods and their relationships. No where in the pantheon I have read (coming from the most ancient sources) have I found such.

@@discoriented6235 where? I listened back through and the only two things I found cited were 2 books (one being from the original video). You yourself even state that the earliest mentions of YHWH were from an Egyptian stelle talking about the nomads that were not even Canaanites. Then the presumption is that it was introduced. So if you don't mind, please timestamp in your reply which sources you are using outside the two books mentioned.

@@discoriented6235 so as citing these resources, none which either cite primary contemporary sources nor link YHWH to the Canaanite pantheon as a lesser god, you still make the bold claim that he was? I'm sorry but in my opinion, that is being intellectually dishonest.

inherent need? necessary need? i think humans could be as productive and happy just because of the lack of comfort lies. one life can be very motivating. if that suicide rate thing is true its because of shunning not because of weirdness or atheism.

I truly wish you were correct, but I suspect not. Religion pops up spontaneously and independently amongst all cultures throughout history. It seems to be the natural comfort mechanism for any species that is aware of its own mortality.

@@discoriented6235 but i think that the agency detection theory kinda breaks that spontaneous part somewhat. just because we know that now about ourselves. by the help of internet i suppose. and the fact that there are communities that dont have god concept.

@@discoriented6235 i mean i agree with the spontaneos for most of human history but wouldnt that mean that nowadays (or even earlier?) it could be equally spontaneous to be an atheist?

Have you read Bret Winstein's A Hunter Gathers Guide to the 21st Century? There is a chapter on religion in there from an Atheist Evolutionary perspective. Reducing religion to a just a comfort mechanism is pretty shallow.

Word concept fallacy. A word can have multiple referents just as multiple words can share a single referent. Yahweh and Elohim have multiple referenets.
