The french revolution was one of the most terrible things ever happend. The hole area of the Vendee, filled with catholics was slaughtered. The first Genozid. The guilliotine was not fast enough so they drowned mothers, children, whole families in leaking boats in the rivers. Of course they never tell you THIS in history- lessons at school... The Spanish inquisition (which is generally what people think of) found at most 2,000 people guilty of their respective crimes over 350 years. The thing most people do not understand is that "an inquisition" was not an institution, but a system of ecclesiastic courts through which crimes were tried. The state would prosecute or release people based on what evidence was found.

Very good, however the truth is that the Inquisition has been as misrepresented as the French Revolution. The Protestants won the propaganda war bc they had the printing presses, plus they were much wealthier. Foxes' Book of Martyrs is a good example - it inspired real hatred of Catholics as seen in the sufferings of the Irish at the hands of the English

Leftists often say the exact opposite of what they mean. Sometimes I wonder if they are just projecting themselves. For example when they scream “racism” at someone what they really mean is that they hate race that God created and the nations He created, they wish to destroy God’s creation by mixing everyone into a meaningless consumeristic materialistic grey raceless goo. This is because spiritually they are children of the devil, who was a liar from the beginning.

Was unfair for a 10 year old boy who was believed to be next in line for the throne to end up being neglected, starved and abused in prison and ended up dying. We know Louis XVII's parents were never tyrants and never deserved the horror. I agree possibly with Louis Charles still being young-he possibly shouldn't have ruled or possibly they had to wait until he was a little older, but he shouldn't have gotten the mistreatment that he had-he could've lived his life-which he never did- in a foreign country.

I have a feeling that the revolution was a poor decision. From the information I have gathered, I do not believe that Louis XVI was the worst French king. No proof that he was the most corrupt or the most power drunk. The question is who really planned the French revolution? Who wanted to benefit from the power change? Who did benefit from the power change? Which foregin countries financed the revolution? The crime committed by the revolutionaries was worse that those committed by the monarchy in my opinion. I wish someone can provide information as to who were the real beneficiaries of the French revolution.

The Pope at the time; Pius VI said of the French revolution "In fact, after having abolished the monarchy, the best of all governments, [the French Revolution] had transferred all the public power to the people - the people... ever easy to deceive and to lead into every excess" The Church lost all of her institutional power in the nation of France. Under the Ancien Regime the Church was the First Estate. It was more powerful than the monarchy; why would it have subverted itself? Holy cow to think someone could be so mentally deficient, and historically illiterate.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but Washington, Jefferson and Adams were just as much responsible for the French Revolution as Danton and Robespierre. Also, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, James Monroe and James Madison, and probably John Quincy Adams.

The countries that invaded France in 1792, when the La Marseille was written, did so not so much for the sake of restoring the Bourbon monarchy. They also had an ulterior motive of seizing territory from France. Keep in mind that the Austrians, Prussians, and British were enemies of France during the height of the Kingdom of France as they were during the invasion of 1792. Also the La Marseilles was written by a devout Catholic. So there is no need to abandon it. Especially, if you can add monarchist terms or lyrics into the song.

This channel is very interesting. I am from Colombia. The revolution to overthrow the Spanish King was led by a class we call "creoles" they were the offspring of Spaniards born in the colonies, as such, they had less rights, which of course they did not like. They were not really interested in creating a more egalitarian society as much as they wanted to be the ones in power, their descendants still rule today as the leaders of the main political parties. More often than not, they are corrupted and do a lousy job. I have always blamed it on the fact that Colombia still works as a monarchy. But this makes me wonder. Would monarchs be more accountable to their actions due to the fact that their rule is not temporary, or is it just a matter of doing it responsibly regardless of what label we give to those in power (King, President)?

my family is from spain, southern france & spanish southern italy. Yes Creole Spaniards were not deemed the same as Spaniard, it was a scale of opportunity & it would of been difficult if you were mestizo or indigenous you would of had a good life i can assure you but you would not become King further to that most Kings were descended from Germanic Bourbons & not Iberians or Romans anyway. This still was a Christian & Commons Sense society with plenty of opportunities. However there were liberal reforms that stemmed from the french revolution that were deemed socialist and ultra liberal by the creoles, short story Spain was turning soft, weak & liberal like france. Bottom line the liberalism that come from the french revolution via france, sweden, from northern europe fucked not just all of of europe but the entire western world including the americas with centuries of socialism!

Napoleon took power a few years later, he loved equality and freedom so much he thought nothing of forcing young men into the army and to die in their thousands.

The French revolution was not necessary. First it was not a revolt of the common people against the elites. It was a series of take-overs, most of them remote-controlled from the city of London or from Switzerland, that started with a tentative usurpation by the d'Orléans house who promised to make the regime compliant to international finance. The popular aspect of the revolution, led by Robespierre, was actually a Parisian revolt against the newly-installed republic that had abolished mostly workers' not nobles' privileges. This revolt was rapidly crushed as it lacked both the numbers and the money to give way to a dictatorship like France had never known, the directoire, which was a prelude to the installation of Napoleon.

Some people draw a connection between the French revolutionaries and Illuminate. What do you think?

You should do a video on Napoleon. He was a military leader under revolutionary government, but when he attained power via a bloodless coup he overthrew the revolutionary parties, the jacobins tried to assassinate him twice so he expelled them, and he put an end to the terror, lawlessness, in effectiveness and warmongering of the revolutionaries. Certain things he kept, as there was genuine corruption and backwardness in the monarchy, especially birth rights and the ridged social classes. Napoleon abolished these but also dialled back a lot of nonsense from the revolutionaries. Napoleon ended the revolutionary wars, and made peace. It was the British in 1803 that broke the peace on false pretexts, and began throwing cash at the misguided monarchies of Europe. Largely because the same internationalists who funded and help orchestrate the jacobins take over of France were able to influence their political allies across Europe to try and regain control of France. Napoleon essentially made another monarchy with his family that was free from Illuminati control.

This would have probabily never happened if Louis XIV had listened to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

I guess that everyone who has spent at least 10 minutes studying the French Revolution will be aware that the revolution of 1789 was not te same thing as the terror 4 years later. I think most people will think your truth is in fact politically correct, because your comment only concerns the terror, not the achievements of the first revolution. By the way; in my comment on part II I suggested some other topics, I see now that you've done so already. I may not always comply with your views but I certainly value your way of looking at things from another side, more people should do that.

great counterrevolutionist interpretation!!! I don't agree that the revolution was unnecessary. Liberte, egalite, fraternite. The revolution was necessary to bring forth individuality and freedom. The freedom to criticize, protest, think, and live for yourself rather than being dependent on a monarchy. These places like Denmark and other who never had a revolution and you claim are not any less free, I would disagree. They can't speak their truth and must obey a monarchy. Don't be afraid of the destruction of the social order.
