The Polar Express at the Cholsey and Wallingford Railway 2022

Here we see 5526 and 08022 haul a very interesting collection of carriages including 2 Gresley teaks. Me and @jakeytrainspotting1241 filmed here for much of the day with the frost providing a fantastic but cold backdrop.

The two Gresleys are on hire from NYMR. The two chocolate and cream Mark 1s belong to the C&WR. I'm not sure where the others came from. The railway has two other Mark 1s (with a third arriving in the New Year), but they will need some work doing to them before they can enter service.

The mark1 by 5526 is from the Wensleydale railway and the mark2 is from the Mid Norfolk railway

Ah thanks I knew they were all on hire but I'm surprised they had to hire from so many railways.

@@LukeAlfordUKsteam No, not all on hire - as per my previous comment, the two chocolate & cream coaches "live" there. The chocolate & cream TSO is one of only two in preservation with GWR150 motifs on the table tops (the other being on the Severn Valley).

Oh yeah and I'll be interested to see where the other mk1 is stored when it arrives, there can't be much space at Wallingford to put it.
