My grandfather collects Case knives, mostly trappers, but he will buy almost any Case knife. He has probably around 3,500 knives. They’re in cases along the wall, in the coffee table, he even has a rotating 4 side stand that he bought from a knife show. I could pick up any of those knives and ask him to tell me about it and he would be able to tell me everything about that knife in a matter of seconds. So much attention to detail and passion for the hobby.
i am 14 and i carry a case medium stockman all the time and grandpa has carried on for 21 years
I'll never forget my grandfather teaching me to whittle. "DID YOUR MAMA TEACH YOU TO HOLD A KNIFE LIKE THAT?!?!... GIMME THAT!" Miss him terrible! ⚔

My favorite pattern is a Barlow. My grandpa gave me one and have cherished it since then. Bring back memories everytime I see one

@@rongarza1974 Wow, If they were liner locked and assisted opening I'd go broke buying every variant... 🤑 Takes balls to charge the same for an A/O as an auto in this day and time... but I do dislike aluminum scales and there aren't a ton of aftermarket options, even for Kershaw. My attempts with grip tape, ect have brought inconsistent results. If changes in the law since Case opened and closed have caused difficulties in sourcing materials then I'm certainly not above ponying up my share for more desirable level of function and aesthetic. My only suggestion to Case would be to change the "integrity" slogan. Sounds like a gun company experimenting with safer slogans for the appeasement of advertisers, or the NRAs advice to "Pick your battles." And in spite of their warranty the current reputation for quality control reminds me of something my grandfather said, "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to do it again?" Saying "Just send it back." too often bites you in places you dont want you knife to open or close accidentally. 😅 We'll see when it gets here!

@@lindenarden667 I have AO knives, and Spydeco (sp?), and I like them a lot. However, been carrying case since I was a kid, and I am not not old. I carry a case most of the time, or a Swiss Army Knife. I have a swayback jack that was a Bose colab. Love it. Get one. You will buy more. They are fun, and usable.

I like their older style of toothpick blade they used on the fishing knife.
I carried a yellow handle case trapper since I was six years old and on through the years for at least 35 years. My father carried a Case stockman forever, the bone handle was worn down so much that Lee brass pins were sticking up from carrying it. Also the blade was a quarter of an inch in height from sharpening and about half an inch shorter from sharpening
Case is honestly my favorite. Such a great company.
I love the Canoe with the curly maple. Also, Case, if you're listening, I'm sure I speak not only for myself but also for the people when I say that we would love nothing more then to see the 20's style autos come back. We need to make it happen!

Very excited to be able to date the case knife my grandfather gave me when I was 10. His brother got it in 74 for him and now someday I will be able to pass it down to my niece.
Case is not the only one who can use any kind of handle material for it's knives. Ever heard of the French company Laguiole? All hand-made gentlemans slip-joint knives, really beautiful.
hey case! yall need to tighten up on QC!!! ive seen a lot of brand new knives with trashed blades and cracked handles

I just bought the sod buster. Cool knife it's just perplexing that it came out of the box with a toothy edge.
A few years ago, I didn't care to own any traditional knives in my collection. As of the last year, I have really fallen in love with them. I only have one as of now in my collection but would definitely like to get more. And as far as traditional knives, it doesn't get much better than a Case.

Yeah Europe’s knife prices are crazy.
When my grandfather passed I got his case slimline with red handles that he had used for so long that at first i thought the scales were black. Sharpened so much the blade was missing so much material. I carried it for two years and then it was confiscated in a school and I never seen it again. I will always live case knives
Love the commentary on the knives and styles. I have 4 other brothers who always carried a Case knife on the ranch. I got my first Case pocket knife when I was 6 years old and have carried Case pocket knives for the past 60 years. My question is, how can we get carbon steel back in the knives instead of the stainless steel? I would love to get at least one more Case knife during my life that had the old carbon steel blades that you could sharpen and hold an edge and turned darker the more you used it. Thanks, Todd Ericsson

Case is truly an American icon. They were the brand that first got me into knives. My favorite pattern to carry is probably a stockman.
I must admit, I never was much of a Case guy. Then, I got a Caliber composite clip blade from the Zippo/Case museum about 10 years ago. I tell you, it's my favorite knife. It weighs nothing - that's what made me buy it once I handled it. I was skeptical about the durability of the handle, but I've never managed to break it in a decade. It's light as a feather, and tough as nails. Great video.
I love the sodbuster. Classic ready for work tool.
My favorite case pattern is the CHEETAH. gotta love that swing guard.

I just bought my first Case knife. CASE XX WR Pocket Knife Two Knife Set Twin Finn. Looking forward to using it well for many decades to come. Thank you and be well!
My grandpa has an original stockman from the 70s that we use to clean fish on our fishing trips. One of the blades is stuck closed and the others aren’t much easier but it’s still sharp as hell
I'm a big fan of the Trapper, it gets a lot of use on the farm.
Please, Case, for the love of the knife gods, PLEASE offer more CV bladed knives!!!! I own a lot of Case knives and love them all but I would own A LOT more if more of them were available in CV!!
I love the Cheetah pattern as well as the Sodbuster, both great.
I'm small-kine obsessed with Case Knives.
Medium stockman in CV steel is my fav. Versatile with the 3 blades. Classy/traditional enough for "formal" settings, or good on the farm or for cleaning birds. Reminds me of Granddad.
Well, dang. This was my favorite video that you guys have done by far, and not just because of the nostalgia. Maury was a perfect guest, y'all need to give him his own weekly segment. In this day and age of needing a tool fast and now, I had forgotten about the gentle steadfastness of slow and deliberate. I can't think of anything more iconic than a well made slip joint. The well coveted hand-me-down knives of my youth were Case, Buck, and Old Timers. I just sent a link for your Case page to my Dad with instructions for him to pick 3 knives that he will routinely carry. The idea being that he will create his own "pocket worn" knives to pass down to my daughter and my two nephews. Thank you for making this video. So many wonderful memories have been stirred up
Favorite pattern is probably peanut..always good to have a 2nd blade and it's a great size for the pocket
Great video! My favorite pattern is the Large Stockman in CV steel. Video shared!
My Pop carried a sod buster for 30+ years as his edc. Sharpened the blade so much that it was no longer safe to carry as the point no longer went into the handle.
I have been carrying an old case Canoe knife since I was 9 years old and I am currently 37. True testiment of the quality of case knives!
So glad that you are doing Case knives. I've been collecting them for a while now and just love their products. Wonderful company from my home state of Pennsylvania!
I've carried a case trailing point fixed blade, deer hunting for about 30 years now. So many memories soaked into that blade. Also love a grand dad barlow. Big and beautiful.
Always have loved Case Knives and everything they are doing! Case Knives have been in my family for generations! My favorite pattern is the Barlow in Caribbean Blue Bone handle.

Very educational video, I learned quite a bit about traditionals and Case knives as a whole!

I have to say my favorite pattern would be the Congress. My grandfather got me one with the stag handle scales for Christmas when I was about 7 years old; absolutely beautiful.

Oh man. Thanks for this video. I was hunting deer 30 years ago. I found a Case knife laying on the ground half covered in snow. I still have it somewhere. I knew it was a good knife. But it is a little big for EDC. Maybe I have a goldmine.
Small Stockman, grandpa carried one all the time. I inherited it and even though it's well worn, I carry it most days.
This is one of the best videos you guys have done in a while. Love the enthusiasm from both of you and the beautiful knives on thr table. That assisted trapped is probably going in my collection in a day or 2. Love the sharktooth.

My favorite Case Knife is the full size Sod Buster!!
I like that Barlow design.
The first knife I ever owned was a Case Muskrat given to me by my Grandfather for my 13th birthday. He sent it in the mail with a small card telling the story of how his own gra father had given him the same pattern knife to him the day he left for his first deployment in Vietnam. 2 tours later and he had worn and sharpened the main blade down to a steel toothpick. He still has it in his desk to use as a letter opener. I still have my own Case Muskrat but I don't carry it anymore. The main blade is worn and bowed from sharpening. After I got my current Tribal Lock, I put it up in my gun safe. One day, my own son will carry it in turn and then my grandson. At this point, the Case Muskrat is a family tradition that has been passed down across 5 generations based on oral history. Case is the company that inspired my love and passion for knife collecting, and it all started with a little 2 blade pocket knife given from grandfather to grandson.
That was an awesome video! I was reluctant to watch at first but so glad that I did.
I've just purchased my first Case knife and am buzzing

my favorite is the Case Tribal Lock Knife and the TrapperLock Kickstart
Slimline Trapper! Been carrying this one for the last 5 years and was my first Case... love this knife!
As the host said. The Trapper is the Mac Daddy Knife and I agree with him. I carry the yellow handle Trapper. It's a beater work horse knife. My dad gave it to me and it's priceless to me. The case emblem fell out and I need to send it back so they can fix it. Still works but has caracter.
Oh man, I love all these knives. I'm really liking the shark tooth toward the end of the video.
Mini copperlock is my favorite one to carry
I like the canoe, and butterbean patterns
I just gave my wife a Case knife for Christmas for her glove compartment and or purse; everybody admired the small elegant knife after she opened it. (She will use it to cut with) Knives in general have gotten big, ugly and brutal looking...Case knives are still classic , stylish down to earth. For most tasks a small pocket knife is more than enough. People, you'll be amazed how a pocket knife in your vehicle will come in handy....especially on road trips. When picnicking, hiking, walking etc. just put in your pocket.
Mini trapper is by far one of my favorites, I wish I could find on in cv steel
Favorite case pattern is the Jaguar with the blue jigged bone. Also love my seahorse whittler
These are true , grandfather knives! I have a few that are handed down that still run strong!! The Clip Point is hands down my favorite blade design. I really like the new Kickstarter, if I don’t win one I’ll still end up buying one!
Definitely the mini trapper or medium stockman because that’s what my grandpa carried. Amber bone also.
Medium stockman is timeless
I think the slimline trapper is one of the best-looking knives of all time!
