Thank you for putting this summary together. Very helpful for focused study. Indeed, Presidents Hinkley, Monson and particularly Nelson have been preparing this generation of saints to reach out to others (make friends, give service), share the Restored Gospel (gather scattered Israel), be more self reliant (physically and spiritually- home storage, personal gospel study), repent and follow the Savior (get on and stay on covenant path), and let God prevail in our lives (learn to Hear Him, seek personal revelation, expect miracles).

Thanks YamaBeth - this was so awesome. Here are some of my favorite things he has ask us to do that I noticed 1. "I call" upon you, my dear brothers and sisters, to become this righteous people who are able, ready, and worthy to receive the Lord when He comes again, a people who have already chosen Jesus Christ over this fallen world, a people who rejoice in their agency to live the higher, holier laws of Jesus Christ. 2. "Please ponder" that “Each person who makes covenants in baptismal fonts and in temples-and keeps them-has increased access to the power of Jesus Christ.” “Making and keeping covenants actually makes life easier!” 3." My plea" to you this morning is to find rest from the intensity, uncertainty, and anguish of this world by overcoming the world through your covenants with God. Let Him know through your prayers and your actions that you are serious about overcoming the world. Ask Him to enlighten your mind and send the help you need. Each day, record the thoughts that come to you as you pray; then follow through diligently. Spend more time in the temple, and seek to understand how the temple teaches you to rise above this fallen world. I love these!

another thing I noticed this last Conf. was he referred to himself as the Lord's Prophet. I don't remember ever hearing one of our Prophets/Presidents specifically saying that. It was amazing. Normally they stick with Special Witness, or Lord's servant, etc.

I appreciated your study of the emotional and loving urges of our last two prophets. I also have the feeling that the work is hastening and needs to be better understood and implemented into our families and our own personal lives to weather the storms the devil is sending at us each and every day.

Your time there brings blessings for eternity."

Well organized and worth pondering and adjusting our lives accordingly. President Nelson knows, pleads and urges. We would be wise to follow.

This was timely and so appreciated. I noted that you did not add the urging President Nelson has given us on temporal matters such as food storage and even on the controversial C- vaccine. Sometimes we don’t know why The Brethren support a political or controversial subject, but I do believe they are inspired for future happenings yet to come, and we should follow their urging.

FYI President Nelson said speak with your doctor and pray about the jab. For those of us who did just that and chose not to get the jab we still followed the his plead.

The urge to get vaccinated was my conversion to pray for the Witness of President Nelson. That urge and following the Prophets counseling saved my wife, me and our unborn baby at the time we took the faith to get vaccinated. Glory be to God always. I’m grateful God has restored Prophets, for he truly is the same yesterday,today and forever.

Today I prayed for help and as I was studying our prophet’s message “preaching the gospel of peace“ I went to look up a footnote and somehow your message (video) came up. Thank you for a wonderful lesson on the pleadings of the Prophets. It was very interesting and enlightening.

This is a wonderful compilation. I'm not sure when the second coming is either. I believe given President Nelson's age a lot of his way of expressing urgency is knowing his time to teach us is short. He will not be with us much longer and he's trying urgently to give us all the counsel he's prompted to give before he is through. For us whether the second coming is soon or generations from now does not matter. We still most likely will die and stand before the judgement the longer we have practiced to be in alignment with the pleas of our living prophet the greater our joy! The longer we procrastinate the guidance the deeper our regret and remorse.

Brigham Young said that men lived on the sun, that 'Christ' practiced polygamy, fathered children and was even crucified for practicing polygamy. He even taught the first lie of Satan - "Ye shall be as gods." Such a sad story. I don't think you really want to go back that far. What did Christ teach?

Also baptism for the desd- google this- also temples also patriarchs also christs church being led by prophets apostles and bishops also tithing fasting prayer. Also chastity, and alot more. Also they dont say mormon prophets. It is simply 'prophets'. I'm not saying anymore alsos this is misinformation based on biased selective information, either way bottom line is get our lives right with the Saviour.

I am so glad you pointed that out. I think these people that post like this on KZread imagine that the apostles all write their own talks while being guided by "the spirit". I know one of these former speech writers for them. Its all very corporate and ran as a business.

Pres Nelson, in unity with all the apostles of Jesus Christ, along with all the holy prophets since the beginning of time to follow Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. He is doing that here. Helping us focus on God and Christ.

@@mattctr Thank you for clarification, I have been watching BYU especially the devotional, I also have a copy of the book of Mormon , when I heard that it's OK to be LGBT, I was very disappointed , I'm a musician ,and seen alot of discrational behavior, I now live in Southern California. The weather is so much better than Nashville. But the morality is not good.

The judgment will come upon all those who are disrespectful to God's laws in immorality even lust, lying and among other things, we are all guilty of this. It is not okay for someone to sin, we all know that but you always have people that don't care one way or the other. This is excellent advice coming from our profits Sears in revelators . We need to get our act together because it is going to be too late. We all will stand to be judged, and it's our own condemnation we will see from a pure knowledge in the gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ. The Lord is eager to save everyone, we all have free will even after death. It doesn't matter if we are living during the time of Adam and Eve for now, the laws are the same and repentance is available for all of us to be redeemed from our lust and greed and don't forget power and selfishness.

Notwithstanding, can you bear a strong critique? I worry that members (those born and raised in it) have no real 'root' in that volume of scripture that has been around the longest: being told that it is Scripture "as far as it is translated correctly". >>> With that, though, you have no idea about the truthfulness of 'any' of it, because you (as a whole) will not study it diligently and seek to see God's hand in it. The Jews certainly focus on the Torah (The first 5 books), and sometimes "miss out" by not reading the Neviim (The Prophets), etc. The predecessors of the Jews (i.e., the whole House of Israel) were very aware of the presence of those professing to be prophets but who really weren't. Real prophets (viz., those who prophesied) were not known to be such, among the people, until 'after' their prophecy was fulfilled: and, if their prophecy failed, the people certainly dismissed them, out of hand. Prophets (anciently) had "the gift of prophecy": they were not "called and set apart" to be a prophet (neither were they "anointed" to become such). >>> Those most familiar with the Old Testament will see that this was so. >>> David was "anointed to become king". (Not so, with prophets.) It's OK that Russell M. Nelson is not a prophet (i.e., he who has never prophesied is simply not a prophet). He is not a seer, either: not having the gift to "see beforehand" calamities in the Earth, and to then give a voice of warning. >>> President Nelson has said, "We cannot know what the future holds." (I'm afraid so, President Nelson: a Seer who does not 'see' is not a Seer.) Okay, Okay! Nelson certainly "is" something you can be proud of: he is... ...an educator ...a motivator ...a policy maker ...a great chief executive officer ...head of the LDS corporate hierarchy (holding the office of president). ...a 'preacher' ...a sometimes pontificator You really need to read the story of the prophet Samuel (Ist and 2nd Samuel, in the Old Testament). >>> The differences are glaring, to those who see the Biblical narrative for what it is and make no excuses for themselves, for any lack of understanding. >>>> Lax and Lazy come to mind: taken right out of the mouth of President Nelson.

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in MATTHEW 24:23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..." Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A). Your jesus of the Book of Mormon who is the brother of Satan. OR B). The Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.

So this guy is a prophet? What does he prophecy?

If you look at past scriptural patterns, the main job of a prophet is to exhort (according to the dictates of God) the current generation to come away from worldliness and sin. He is fulfilling that call. I hope that you can feel the love from President Nelson. No harm, no bitterness... I am grateful to have a prophet and leader assist me on my journey to become more like the Savior of mankind.

Joseph Smith got a revelation to practice 'plural marriage.' Then when the United States congress passed a law threatening to seize their assets and shut them down the prophet got a 'revelation' saying that they must stop practicing polygamy. OLD REVELATION July, 1843 "Revelation" on Plurality of Wives (Doctrine and Covenants, Section 132) Joseph Smith dictates a "revelation" requiring the practice of polygamy to obtain exaltation: becoming gods (v.1-6, 20). This revelation would not be canonized until 1876 as Section 132 of the Doctrine and Covenants. It remains part of the LDS canon today. Up until now Joseph hid his marital trysts from his first wife Emma. Joseph's brother Hyrum attempted to present this "divine revelation" to win Emma's approval of her husband's behavior. Emma rejected it. The revelation specifically states that if Emma rejects it she would be destroyed (v.54,64). That did not happen. However it was Joseph who died within a year from now. Emma, who was 39 years at this time lived to be 75. February 19, 1887 Edmunds-Tucker Act The United States Congress passes the Edmunds-Tucker Act which permits the government to seize assets and disincorporate the LDS church for continuing to practice polygamy against the law. The bill is enacted into law March 3. NEW REVELATION The Historical Record 6:233-234 October, 1890 The 1890 Manifesto: Official Declaration-1 Under increasing pressure from the federal government, including being disincorporated, the sitting Mormon prophet, Wilford Wilson, issued a statement denying that the Mormon church was practicing polygamy. Wilford Woodruff The Utah Commission, in their recent report to the Secretary of the Interior, allege that plural marriages are still being solemnized... also that in public discourses the leaders of the Church have taught, encouraged and urged the continuance of the practice of polygamy-I, therefore, as President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, do hereby, in the most solemn manner, declare that these charges are false. We are not teaching polygamy or plural marriage, nor permitting any person to enter into its practice. Wilford Woodruff - Mormon prophet Doctrine and Covenants, Official Declaration-1 Note: About a year later Wilford began referring to the statement as a "revelation". It was canonized in 1908.

@@jlewis8145 holy cow! That is some serious policy changes, but still-policy change. I do not see prophecy. Maybe prophecy is not allowed to be shared with the public, like Warren Jeffs. Maybe this church keeps its’ prophecy a secret. That is why everyone refers to Jeffs and Nielsen as their beloved prophet, but the prophecy is not shared.

If he was a prophet he would not have told people to get the shot. These men are going along with the evil in the world.

Why do you put so much trust into what this man is saying? Good advice is fine but this seems like you are putting a lot of trust in every word he says. He's just a man.

@@TheRozylass fair enough. I get that you see him as a prophet led by God. I just don't see anything he has done that would convince me he is. He is a good motivational speaker but prophet of God, I think not.

Pres Nelson is a man. An imperfect man. Imperfect people are all God has to work with. In unity with millions of others, this man is focusing our minds on our relationship with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. He teaches the exact things that are in all books of scripture.

@@frontpage11 I have yet to see anyone who follows this imperfect man ever acknowledge anything he has done that would be imperfect. Just read through comments on his Facebook page and it is almost worship for this imperfect man. I will name one thing I think was a mistake. His determination to remove Mormon from our vocabulary. For years prior to him becoming president it was perfectly fine to identify as a Mormon but now it's a major victory for Satan. We even had websites with Mormon in them. We had the big I'm a Mormon campaign. Seems strange that now God is offended but apparently not when it was Monson or Hinkley.

Galatians 1 Joseph Smith taught and created Mormonism based on a different gospel than that of the Bible (Word of God). There is no salvation or pleasure from God if you follow a false gospel, only wrath and ultimate judgment in hell. Leave this perversity before it's too late. You are following the devil and his servants.

@@frontpage11 The claims of Joseph Smith whom you and your so-called church follow were lies, he claimed he saw God, which the church had to change. He and the Mormon church claim that Jesus was the spirit brother of Satan (a different Jesus and gospel than that of the Bible). He said God told him he would build his temple in St Louis, MO; which he didn't, making himself a false prophet; he said Jesus told him, "no church was right before Him and that he wanted JS to build the right one". But that goes against Scripture which says "I will build my church and the Gates of Hell will not prevail"; meaning God always has a remnant of true believers. I could go on and on but suffice it to say all this points to a man not in his right mind and suffering from a messiah complex and delusions of grandeur, which has since been the foundation of a huge money-making powerful cult organization. The warning to anyone who is truly God's child, a true believer but to oppressed by the power of Satan and his cults, either by family, friends or the powerful pull of Mormon culture, is always; "“I WILL DWELL AMONG THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. 17“Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord. “AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN;"

@@bcg3166 In one way you are correct, the message was to those who were distorting the gospel in the early church by bringing in heresies about adding law-keeping to grace, especially circumcision, but on the other hand Paul is making a general statement about anyone who tries to teach a gospel contrary to his. Which includes cults (those who splinter off the truth to add to Scripture man-made religious practices not approved by God's gospel); or those who create new, un-Biblical doctrine out of their own imaginations. All contradictions are addressed and all are accursed.

He clearly doesn’t understand the scriptures. The gathering of Israel is literal and it’s not something that will be done by the church or any other institution. This huge event will take place right after the end of the Gentile Nations. I suggest that Elder Nelson and all other members study the scriptures more carefully and more seriously. Study Isaiah, 3 Nephi 20 and 21.
