@@broseidon2519 I get jokes, but I have heard of animals in fiction that apparently mistake people or other animals for members of their own species. I recall one game in which a newly hatched bird (about the size of a human teenager) apparently thought that a human turned into a mixture of a rat and weasel (the name escapes me) was its mother. Apparently, the fact that said individual had no feathers escaped the bird's notice.

26:13 I absolutely adore how Briana lights up when Aerith shows up on screen. You know when she hears Aerith talking, it's taking her back to the recording studio and all the hard work hours she put in. She's finally getting to see everything paying off and how it sounds with all the other characters as well. It must feel so amazing and rewarding!

Yuffie's journey is so powerful. She starts as a materia thief and then the moment she sees all that destruction she knows she's suddenly a part of something so much bigger.

@@jamesvach6698 That is true, but she does learn some good lessons during the original VII. You've probably noticed that in Dirge, she has matured... only just a little bit... and isn't quite as Materia-focused.

@@bardinblue9830 I have noticed that her focus is less on materia and she seems to take the situations around her more seriously than the Yuffie seen in this DLC. Although she still retains her tendency to make dramatic introductions (nothing wrong with that) and ruining them to some extent by being a little clumsy. I also recall that apparently, she gets motion sickness when in moving vehicles.

Shoutout to Suzie for bringing Yuffie to life!

*Some notable & related Japanese history:* During the Heian Period in Japan (~830 years ago) the tall warrior monk Benkei was the retainer of master Minamoto no Yoshitsune. They're a famous duo for a number of their exploits, but one that Benkei is best known for when he stood alone to block a bridge by himself, singlehandedly holding back deadly enemy soldiers, and allowing Minamoto no Yoshitsune to escape. He was so feared a warrior that they attacked him from afar with arrows… but he never fell and stood steadfast blocking the way. Only when the soldiers finally had to approach to fight him directly, did they discover that Benkei had died on his feet after being pierced by numerous arrows. Even in death, he never gave in and continued making sure his boss escaped from them to safety. "The Standing Death of Benkei" is a phrase used as symbolic representation of that type of unbreakable protection & commitment. Sonon's design is made to match that same era of Japanese warrior monk who also used many of the same martial arts techniques associated with Ninja. Sonon being a loner (starting with only Independent materia, and whose ATB charges slower when synergized) who is also much taller in stature than his boss, Yuffie also all carries the same intentionally similar dynamic to that famous historical pair. This leads to how Sonon's fate is allowing Yuffie to escape on the elevator and simultaneously preventing Nero from reaching her - _all while he remains standing on his feet the entire time until she is safe._ It's a clear parallel to that famous narrative & phrase, but one non-Japanese audiences are likely unfamiliar with, but I find adds extra weight to that scene knowing how it reflects a real-world story from a bit over 800 years ago.

Even 29:55 with Aerith mentioning not having a roof when it starts to rain because she's so used to being under the Plate in CCR (with the only time we see her under the rain being the VERY end of that game), which makes that final scene even MORE emotional.

It was such a joy seeing Cloud and his friends in the end. Barret really got me dying of laughter. 😆😆😆

This really does make you eager for Rebirth! Also...Cloud's little smirk/smile for like all of three seconds. Gotta also give credit to the art and animation teams for that amazing view of Zack's eyes...truly worth of a chef's kiss.

I'm gonna stick with you until the end of this Remake trilogy. It will be a wild wild ride of our lifetimes.

It will indeed. I plan to play each game and watch playthroughs of her going through it afterword's (along with a few others) to gain perspective that I might miss.

That scene with Sonan hit hard, knowing that he could at least protect Yuffie since he couldn’t protect his sister. One of my favorite characters from Final Fantasy

I’ll admit it right now: I’ve been kind of feeling some post-game depression from this game ever since I finished its secret bosses last year, and I’ve trying to fill the void by watching your videos (as well as some other videos) of it ever since. I can’t help myself, I miss this game so much, but I promised myself not to play it again until just before Rebirth comes out. These videos have been tiding me over, so thank you. I look forward to continuing this journey in the future.

Man, big props for Suzie and Aleks. They both gave us amazing performances. Suzie's screams just send chills down my back every time. You would think seeing the Sector 7 plate fall again wouldn't have that much of an impact since we knew it was going to happen, but seeing it from another perspective, literally burning felt like I was experiencing the moment for the first time. Seeing our gang again in the post credit scenes made me so happy I cried. I can't wait for them to meet up with Yuffie. And Aerith not knowing how to hitchhike was the cutest thing in the world 😭

This dlc I thought was fantastic! It fleshed out Yuffie so much more than the original game and gave us a new point of view perspective during the original game. Can't wait to see what Rebirth brings later along the line.

The pre-rendered cutscenes in this franchise are so good 😮 it feels like a movie 😩

After Zacs return I have no idea how the remake story is going to play out and I've played the original FF7 on PS1. I'm really excited.

Dang, watching you experience all of this for the first time is really doubling down on all the feels and bringing me through it all over again. Thank you for bringing us along for your playthrough! This one hits both extremes, charming and heartbreaking, and yeah, can’t wait for more!

So this is the end of Yuffie’s journey through Midgar, what an ending this was. Seeing the plate fall again was tragic and now we know Yuffie witnessed it! 😢 Sonon dying saving Yuffie exactly like how like Melphie died saving Sonon was so incredibly sad. 😭 Nero was a ridiculously tough boss, it took me several attempts to beat him. But on a lighter note, I loved the post credits scene with the main party heading to Kalm! How you kept that a secret, I will never know, but it’s such a great way to set up whatever happens next! I loved this game and intermission! I can’t wait for what is next in Rebirth! Thank You Briana for a wonderful playthrough and I’m sure we’ll see you again when the unknown journey continues! 😊💚🌼

I love that Yuffie sees Nero turning against the other Deepground troops and not even considering them as being on the same team, followed by Shinra dropping the plate on their own people - she realizes that the differences between Wutai & Avalanche that she & Sonon discussed earlier aren't as extreme as she thought.

Indeed, it must have been quite an eye-opener. That being said, Deepground is not exactly a place to foster feelings of camaraderie among its members. Were those Deepground members in the white coats or Shinra scientists? If it is the latter, then it seems that Deepground only follows Shinra because Shinra keeps them on a leash.

Briana’s huge gasp when the plate fell was heartbreaking…. 😢😭

A bit late to your series as while the original game is one of my all time favourites and played it as a teenager when it came out, with life and all I only just got round to playing remake and subsequently binged your lets play. I just wanted to thank you for producing such a stellar performance. In the original while I liked Aerith a lot I was still very much on team Tifa but the extra colour you give to the character with your phrasing and intonations makes that a more difficult choice! In any case I love having the more in depth Tifa with Aerith scenes and I think their relationship is something I hope the sequels can properly expand on. While all the voice acting was top tier you really brought Aerith to a new level while being faithful to her original incarnation and honestly you impressed me as the most talented VA of them all. You got the balances between her authenticity and wit, openness and caution, concern and playfulness, strength and fragility, innocence and wisdom, and so much more, so right. I think both you and her share this kind of beautiful sweet wonder at the world (whilst at the same time sensitive to its sadnesses) which really shines through. You seem like a genuinely super lovely person and I'm glad that you had the opportunity to inhabit and excel in such an iconic role in such a well produced and well received game.

Weiss and Nero Being Added to The Saga adds even higher Stakes with it becoming extremely Personal for Yuffie. Deepground for Reference is a Level above SOLDIER First Class and the Tsivets above Deepground. These two are extremely Classified for Shinra

I'm really impressed how Briana is able to move from being emotionally stunned to ad-libbing a careful analysis the whys and wherefores of what we have just seen. That's actor biz -- being deeply involved, yet able to pull back and critically examine an action. That's professional.

I Think this DLC was just amazing. One of the best DLC i ever played.. the length, the pacing and the story connection to the main game was very clever as well.

I enjoyed all of Yuffie's story, but that last 15 minutes was just videogame gold. Incredible really. The emotional impact of losing Sonon, and then immediately being faced with the plate coming down right in front of her.....Great VAing, great animation, you couldn't help being swept up in the emotion. And the last few minutes, with Cloud/Aerith/Tifa/Barret/Red.....OMG, it was so cute I was teary-eyed throughout :) I am SO looking forward to Rebirth!

This DLC was more than I could have asked for. Very much enjoyed it and teases a bit more of the mystery going into Rebirth.

Truly had fun watching from the start to the finish. Buckling up for the rebirth very soon. I hope there will be a reaction and discussion video about FFVII Rebirth just like you did on FFXVI recently ☺️

Great! Yuffie is so good! I did want another little scene of her at the end even if it was just showing her traveling towards Kalm where the others were going.

You and other streamers like Max, where you can tell how important this game is to you, really added a lot to the whole experience. It's like more dlc. Can't wait for the next part!
