True Spice is what the vanilla game should have had. Heavily reduced juice supply and tougher enemies / terrain changes. Reducing the Pikmin numbers just made certain tasks more tedious, not necessarily made them difficult. Always a fun time to watch the highlight reel, even if I caught several of the streams live~

True, played through all the difficulties in preperation for 4 and didn't really have to change my strategy at all. Only thing that made stuff more difficult was the shorter day time, like not being able to fight and collect the Mawdad on the 2nd day, but other than that it didn't really change anything.

The juice supply should’ve been more demanded the more crew members you recruit aboard the Drake, not fruit gives less juice cause it makes no sense when they’re 3 times the size of the characters

@@Nic_2751 - I agree, especially in the vanilla game. Pikmin 3 was my first encounter with the series, and I was never in danger of a game over, even after the Louie incident. Needing at least 2-4 jars of juice at all times would make the player required to balance progression with food gathering. But in terms of gameplay mechanics, I don’t mind the tactic being less juice harvested.

I can't believe the formidable oak slander, has to be one of my favourite parts of the whole game!!

@@Nic_2751 Nah, it's not really even the same as Submerged Castle. It's a cool "final test" of everything you've done in the game, but with Brittany & 10 Winged Pikmin "go here-ing" in circles for 12 minutes.

These streams were SCUFFED but beautiful From the wallmart break to the game crashing for no reason, things definitely got spicy, but not how we thought it would be. These streams were a blast and still a very healthy and enjoyable experience! Now maximum spice on the other hand…

Personally I think Olimar/Louie/President should all be skins of each other in Smash, (Splitting the four skins either 4/2/2 or 3/3/2) and Alph/Brittany/Charlie should be Echoes of them. And give the Pikmin 3 characters Rock Pikmin instead of Purples. (Wouldn’t even need to really change their properties cuz in Smash purples already don’t latch on for some reason.)

Just have olimar and Louie have the brawl kit with 3 Pikmin and have the Pikmin 3 caps use wings and rocks couldn’t be simpler

I couldn't tell if it was there in the True Spice version, but the easiest way to deal with the Mysterious Life Form in vanilla 3 is just to loop Brittany around the beginning room using Go Here, constantly leading the Plasm Wraith in a perfect circle which allows Alph and Charlie to do the rest while only having to occasionally switch to Brittany.

Tip for Formidable Oak: Have Brittany with no pikmin circle a rock and the Mysterious Life Form will follow and clear everything else with Charlie/Alph Edit: I forgot to mention to only become Brittany when you hear them say to move Olimar and I used this tactic everytime I play Formidable Oak which made me beat the game twice in the same day

I feel like this mod misses the mark in some areas while is a vast improvement on others. Tacking on the juice thing feels arbitrary and not true difficulty. But it also adds random enemies where they really shouldn't be, just for the sake of being harder (Like the dumples in the Mireclops arena) Adding water in some areas makes sense, like the Phosbat arena, but also adding water in the Oak again feels tacked on. If only there was a way to mix and match with this mod, and I think it would be perfect.

I personally really enjoy the Formidable Oak, at least in the Wii U version, though I haven't actually played Deluxe anyway... Regardless, good job on completing the mod, you seem to play better than I do in the original game! I know people often consider it the easiest, but I've always found it to be the hardest in my own experiences - namely regarding death counts and my rate of task completion

I frequently play deluxe (I used to frequently play the original too) and I struggled for a good while 😅 tho optimizing my strategies and getting every area fruit in one day or selectively leaving some behind for later is always fun

i feel like the only one who likes the formidable oak, the mechanic is unique and fun because you constantly have to make a path with the map for britanny to loop the dude. sounds annoying but it’s pretty engaging

Kinda random but I’m happy pikmin 4 jyst has two captains, and the menu where you switch stops the game temporarily. In 3 it feels really clunky to switch captains

LOL I find it hilarious that he's having so many issues with basic mechanics of Pikmin 3. Like, of course the golden glob can go over walls, that's part of how you're supposed to juke it in the main game. Also not liking flying pikmin or the lock-on mechanic, when flyings are the best type of pikmin in the game, and the lock-on is infinitely better than it was in the original Pikmin 3

The reason why you were having so many movement troubles is because, for some stupid reason, you have to be holding the stick in any direction 100% of the way to actually to get the leaders to move. This means that if your stick isn't perfect you often just can't move your character. Pikmin 3's controls are fucked up.
