I hope you do more in the series on other photographers, Roman. You do such a good job of letting them speak, and show their process and artistic sensibility. Less about the gear, more about the art.

I like these too but I was wondering what lens he used since I saw his photos with complete different fields of view and he's "travelling light" (I might have missed the mention on the video) and had to freeze the image and take a photograph of the monitor to understand that he is carrying a zoom. An 18-55 f/2.8-4 which made a lot of sense.

I took Mark’s workshop last year. I flew from the midwest of USA and I can absolutely say it was worth it. He helped me to see in a different way and there is nothing more valuable as a photographer than how you ‘see’. His work is genius.

I think it brings another dimension into understanding each artists work. Thanks again for bringing these photographers to us up close and personal. Have a great week!

@@dentReviewsYes! And, looks like an X-T3. That is my combo as well. I use my 18-55 like a prime. Set it to one focal length and leave it there for a while. It really is a good lens. And, I really love my X-T3. It's way more than enough camera for me.

Wow I love Marks work too...I personally don't like street photography that uses people and their expressions.....I like geometry/architecture/colour/contrasty B&W and sometimes a human element that creates interest and scale....thats why you,James, Mark and Alan Schaller are my favourite photographers...Love this series Roman please keep on going.

I love it when you see someone lining up a shot (as in at the five minute mark on this one), and you think 'Really? What are you going to do with this shot?'. Then you see the image and you realise why they are them - and you are not :-) This is such a great video. And modern rock stars please note - THIS is what you are supposed to look like!

Glorious. Mark’s work is truly beautiful and, may I say, inspirational. I’m an ‘old’ fella of 66 years old (apparently) and I can feel the creative energy wanting to flow with a Fuji camera that I’m still getting to grips with. I get good feedback from my iPhone photography and a few of the Fuji photos I’ve put out locally. Watching this just fills me with joy and hope.

So many valuable nuggets of information here for photographers of all skill and experience levels. Mark’s point about there being three key parts of any quality photo was spot-on. If you don’t have a healthy balance of quality light, a key moment or snapshot in time, and an interesting composition (in this case, using multiple textures to subdivide the frame) you’re very likely not making work that evokes emotions.
