I love this series you started up. Your videos are so valuable, that I always try to find dedicated time to sit with a cup of coffee and just focus on your video and nothing else-so it might be weeks before I get to watching then catching up on what I've missed from you.. A lot of other YT videos, I watch when they publish while multi-tasking. I think the only ones in photography I make special time to absorb is yours and Tatiana Hopper's videos. I wonder if others might do the same. I mention this in case you're wondering if the analytics on the series might look a bit different than your other videos-if at all. Thank you so much for the work you put into your video essays. They're beautiful, calming, insightful, and grounded. More than any of us should expect from a free KZread video. 🙏 (edit: I should have joined as a member long time ago, but for this series, it's a must!)

Man, it's so true that just being there is half the job. If you've got that, and you've got the eye - then photo's start to appear before your very eye's sometimes, at least in my experience. It's also why I like to travel to very foreign countries to take photo's - the difference in culture's to me is just so fascinating and photogenic. Great video matey ❤

As someone who just started, I still don't see the photos appear before me, mostly I take a picture and then try to justify myself why it is good or maybe crop and try to find something there. Don't know how long will it be before I can visualize a picture and actually make my camera work for me ! Does everyone go through this ?

I absolutely love this format ! It feels that you're really pushing the analyse and academic thinking of photography that you try to incorporate in your more "tutorial" videos. Ans I love your minimalist yet very compelling editing ! That's brilliant

Webb's transition to color was specifically shooting on Kodachrome - a classic film all around and one I shot extensively in the 80's and early 90's before its demise - specifically Kodachrome 64 and Kodachrome 200.

I absolutely love videos like this. A decade ago, I found the channel Art of Photography and was completely hooked with Ted’s deep dives Into many photographers. The red bus image is incredible and your breakdown on it is great Faizal, it really opened my eye to study it more. I think my favorite part of that image is the dead space above the bus, acting like a release of that tension you described. Incredible stuff.

Really inspiring. I was an avid photographer about 6 years. Covid pretty much shut things down for me. Had no interest, was home all the time. Now I'm a lot more active and have more chances to see new places. Thinking about getting a new camera sometime this year and shooting again.

Your unscored image is a 4 for me, lovely but representational like your first 5-star image (the second 5-star image is more to my taste and I totally agree with that rating). As for the leaves, mushrooms and twisty oak, I'd rate them all as 1 stars, I'm afraid. The high-key misty scene I'd rank as a 4, like the sycamore leaves. Which all goes to prove how utterly subjective photography is!
