philippine military maybe OUTDATED comprared to western standards, even compared to our neighbors BUT WE HAVE AN ADVANTAGE OVER THEM, ITS EXPERIENCE! OUR MILITARY FORCE HAVE BEEN TO CONSTANT WAR SINCE 1950s upto today ... our soldiers are battle hardened, unlike chinese, or other countries whose soldiers only get to taste WAR in training or simulation ... philippine army have DECADES of REAL EXPERIENCE IN WAR ... and currently it is getting MODERNIZED SUBSTANTIALLY ESPECIALLY SINCE OUR PRESIDENT TOOK THE HELM ... we now have missile capable ships, a missile defense system, new modern jets(korean FA-50 already in service since marawi & US F-16 is coming possibly around 2021) .. we also hve new TANKS, APCs, IFVs, and amphibious vehicles ... our military is gradually catching up to modern standards & with our extensive experience of REAL WAR, i firmly believe philippine military is one of the strongest in the planet ...

The Battle of Marawi, what can I say? Im still extremely saddened with the senseless loss of life & property due to this pro- ISIS terrorists! This is a 5 month long urban warfare which the Philippine troops was not accustomed to fight as the troops are more expert in guerilla or jungle warfare, but they prevailed! Hence, President Duterte passed the anti-terrorism bill and upgraded the troops a lot stronger now as we are facing yet another homegrown terrorist communist group called CPP NPA NDF who has been hiding in the most difficult mountain terrains much more organized & scourging our society which is why the elite troops training are more of jungle warfare because of the local insurgency for 5 decades, on top of the terrorist ISIS inspired groups. thanks for reacting to this, Philippines is much safer and we are a step closer to achieve sustainable peace! Man, throughout the video I had a strong urge to clear my throat. :D Good video though!

I live in iIigan city, a city two towns away from marawi and I remembered that afternoon when it all started, hearing it on the police radio. military helicopters flew above our city on the way to marawi. the reserved army was then activited and my dad was most of the time in the camp. My Aunt who just gave birth was working 24/7 since she is a military doctor and her husband a battalion commander of the reserve force was always on travel around to check up on camps. and another aunt of mine was also working super busy since she was one of the commanders coordinating bomb strikes cuz she’s in the Airforce. currently i have classmates that were heavily affected by marawi seige, they said they will never forgive what those terrorist did to there homes.

@@pinoyroots Hmm probably it's the microphone recording, the video audio is clear, but the commentary audio is a little low. I find someone already commented to react on the "153 Days of War" Documentary, it's a solid source of info during that particular war in 2017. I will probably be in the comments again if I see that get reacted hahah, btw, thanks for the respond.

tbh, im actually not fond of this kind of situation. i dont usually watch movies like this, tho its somewhat very inspirational, bravery etc, i just have a soft heart and i couldnt take it. what more in real life? i just managed to listen to your talk and what your thoughts about it. Salute to their bravery! ps: despite of the situation, like gunfire in the bg, i just noticed the soldier still managed to smile while being interviewed. nice.

Those men are very young veterans. Most veterans here in the PH are over 40 - 50 yrs old. And Yes we may not have the equipment but we have the experience and training to neutralize any terror groups that threaten the peace and order of our country.

Multiple people said that these terrorist have been preparing for this attack. Most of the funds came from outside or from the foreign group.

Don't be offended but i want to correct things first and make s0me things clear, first of all they are n0t the philppine special forces they are of different unit called the LIGHT REACTION REGIMENT under the army's special operations command in which the philippine special forces is also under with together with the scout rangers, therefore the LRR is n0t under the special forces regiment, there are three special operations group in philippine army, which is the LRR (LIGHT REACTION REGIMENT), the special force regiment and the 1st scout ranger regiment, by the way, good reaction video, keep up, thanks.

Correction Gentlemn. In the 1st part of the video They are not a Special forces. This unit called LIGHT REACTION REGIMENT (LRR) a combined forces of Armed Forces of the PHilippines.

yes LRR is compose of SF & SR i am one of this unit i came fron 2nd LRC, LRR, SOCOM.

they are the light reaction team they are special forces

There are several "groups" in the Philippines. NPA-CPP( communist rebels), Abu Sayyaf, BIFF, and Moro national liberation front. Over 30/50 years of fierce fighting around the Philippines. Isis are kinda of the new kids on the block. A majority are all fought in the jungle and small towns.

Marawi is now peaceful, people have now returned to d city and rehabilitation is almost complete.

These are all Special Operation Forces.Our main SF is the Special Forces Regiment of Philippine Army.Only civilian dont know the difference between SOF and SF unit

They just dont spray bullets unlike other military operations in other places. Imagine they managed to rescue civilians in just a short time. Killed well equipped terrorists in just 5 months. Operators are also skilled and deadly. Yeah the criticized PH military.

it's so baffling to me that after Iraq was practically destroyed as the ISIS calliphate the ISIS set their eyes on the Philippines to target establishing their next calliphate, this despite the whole Philippines is overwhelmingly Christian.

no,when a soldier says enemy is 200 to 250 meter away it means they pushed them that far.so im gonna say its more safe where they are that time than to those guys who is pushing the enemy at 100meters or so.😂
