Well it does. There are levels to death as well not just physical but your soul can be destroyed too if you are too greedy and materialistic. That's why there is a concept of hell in all religions. You can turn into a demon and dwell eternally in hell if you despise God and His creations and if you are hateful towards the life God creates, envy it or hate it, not respect it then you are in trouble!
