The Perfume to go (Süskind in 10.5 minutes)

Ойын-сауық

Just follow your nose, ladies and gentlemen, for we present a compact and entertaining summary of the ground-breaking historical novel THE PERFUME by Patrick Süskind. Get to know Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, the super nose, his olfactory strokes of genius as well as his shocking crimes. DISCLAIMER: WATCHING THIS VIDEO DOES NOT REPLACE READING THE ORIGINAL. It's a summary, which means I have left out loads of things. I recommend reading it for yourselves and hope my little video will entice you to do so.

wow, this is a deeply psychological story and can touch on a lot of other areas ... a lot of potential analysis in this one, great to know about and excellently done, thank you !

No wonder the world goes in the direction of creating "scent free environment", because before you know there is an orgy on your hands. The obsession with human scent reminded me of "Wetlands" - Helen did not kill innocent creatures, but the book is considered scandalous. Of course, the best/worst part of it all - I wish I could write a book and live happily ever after entirely scent-free instead of my present condition - more like "cent-free". Thanks for the video!

Hä ich verstehe die Anfangsszene nicht. Die Mutter hat ihn doch gar nicht umgebracht oder?! I don't understand the first scene. The mother didn't actually kill him did she?!

The mother tried to kill him by dumping him under the table, but he cried and was thus saved.

Aja.
