    Its canon that Riki adopts Shulk because in the final cutscene riki has caught 14 fish one for each member of his family but Riki has also been confirmed to have 11 children meaning that 3 fish are left over one for Riki one for Riki's Wife and one for Shulk. also there is a heart to heart where shulk mentions his dead parents and Riki can decide to adopt him

    For sake of clarity, the symbol on the Monado at the beginning said “Machine” to show it can cut Mechon, the Monado II said “People” to show it could cut through the people of Bionis, the final symbol that Zanza feared said “God” to show it was now a god-slaying sword. The scene where Kallian reveals the truth about why Melia is only half-Entia always breaks my heart. She was ridiculed and shunned her entire life and nearly assassinated for it, and it turns out being half homs makes her literally the only way to save her species and fight back against Zanza

    Melia isn't half homs, she is mostly homs. The emperors before her have been going half homs for generations. It took generations before they got to be mostly homs and barely high entia enough to not transform. The ritual they did at High Entia Tomb at Eryth Sea had them get their DNA scanned. The queen knew it was dangerous since lot of royals go and die there but the machine there is to scan if you have enough homs DNA to NOT transform if Zanza comes back, if you would transform, you aren't fit to rule. The ancient high entia sealed the weakened Zanza after he fought Meynith in prison island and got to work diluting their DNA. Too bad high entia race snobbery prevented a large portion of the population from being saved.

    the coolest part about dickson is that he never stopped caring about shulk, despite him being a bad guy at one point, he even says that he almost feels bad about deceiving them despite everything though, he firmly believes that only those with power has the right to decide what they want to do with the world, unlike zanza, who believes that the right belongs to gods alone i like to think that the fight with dickson was just him testing shulk's strength in the most tsundere way possible to see if he has the power deserving to shape a world, which makes sense, considering he stopped fighting after being dealt a mortal blow when you think about it, dickson really couldn't have truly lost from this encounter. his character was revealed to revolve around power, then died full of pride for shulk for gaining the power to defeat the next closest thing to a god, especially after giving it his all. if he won though, he would've walked away, still retaining the power of the next closest thing to a god it's honestly wild how much this game puts into its storytelling without it directly shoving it in your face

    This is like my third time watching you playthrough this game, and I don't know if anyone ever pointed it out to you. So, Fiora getting her body back was a bigger ordeal than you may think, it wasn't given to her using Shulk's god powers. There's a written story by the devs that you can look up that talks more about it, but to briefly explain it: Sometime before the gang goes off to prison island for the final time, they're relaxing in colony nine. Shulk sneaks off in the middle of the night to his lab. Melia wakes up and finds him and she sees he's been scouring books given to him by the machina and other ancient texts scouring for some way to restore Fiora's body. He's been driving himself restless, doing this nearly every night since he got Fiora back. After the two exchange some words, Shulk mentions an ancient location that Melia recognizes with her family's seal on it. The next morning they all ship off to the location and find the machine that'll restore organic life, think of a super healing tank. But the catch is that Fiora would have to be in there for nearly a year for her to regenerate her whole body. The whole group is ready to say their goodbyes to her, but she refuses, saying she won't go in until after she's fought with Shulk and makes sure he gets out safe. She's warned of her failing body, and she's willing to take that risk. It's a very beautiful story that has some character moments I purposefully left out if you want to read it yourself for that little bit more.

    I'm glad you could experience this masterpiece its my favorite game series of all time. The sequels may not be as consistent overall but they still hold the same spirit of the original and some neat story connections and the game play and mechanics get much more depth I encourage you to check those out too if you ever get a chance.

    @@yasinn9492 XcX is actually my favorite of the three due to the soundtrack, environments, world building, combat system, end game content and side quests but the structure of the main story quest was questionable even though it had some very interesting moments. The side quests actually hold the bulk of the world building and character development but most people didn't do most of them so one of the greatest aspects of the game gets overlooked. All are great and have different strengths and weaknesses. For me XC has the best story XcX has the best combat system. XC2 has the best characters.

    I just watched this after watching your xenoblade 3 series, this game series is my favorite of all time. If there was one thing I wish had been included in the game, its that there was originally going to be a plot point where they found an old high entia regeneration machine that could have been repurposed to make fiora a fully homs body again, but the process would have taken about 6 months and she wanted to wait until after the final fight with zanza to do it so she could fight alongside shulk. It was described in the monado archives, basically like a concept book for xenoblade 1. I highly recommend it, its a really cool book.

Watching vids of peoples reactions brings me back to when I first played it and how I reacted. If you haven't yet I would recommend playing the Future Connected epilogue on the Definitive Edition. It rounds out Melia's story. And then I would also recommend trying Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Don't let the 2 fool you,it is not a sequel storywise. Just a similar game by same team, all new world, characters and story with it's own fair share of emotional moments.

    Why didn't you like xenoblade 2? I haven't played it myself but it seems that everyone is constantly promoting it... And I really hate the voice acting and character designs so I haven't gotten to it yet. I'd like to hear a different opinion though.

  • @myhr2320

    @myhr2320

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@arowace498 My three main points are : - lots of tonal dissonance. You hop from super serious to joke to melancholy to another joke. I had trouble taking anything seriously, even though the overall atmosphere is pretty dark, because there were really goofy things. And yes, there are nopons in Xenoblade 1, but I feel they worked here because they were cute instead of over-the-top jokes. - lack of consistency. It kinda overlap with my first point, in the sense that changing from one tone to another is not bad in itself, adding a light joke in a serious moment can help relieve the tension and even strenghten the intensity of the situation, or further characterize someone's personnality, but I felt that in Xenoblade 2, it was too much, it went for super-duper seriousnesslike "there are lives at stakes" to "maid joke, lul!". Also, I really didn't like the Rare Blades designs, they were all over-the-place. See, the idea behind their design is cool, ask 20ish+ reknowned manga artists to each come with an original design. But in practice, it means Blades lack cohesion with the world. For exemple, there is a blade that is some kind of chimera with two snakes, and another that is a little girl with a polar bear...but you don't really see snakes or polar bears in the world, because they're not really part of Xenoblade's world identity. Yes, nothing explitely says they don't exist, but I felt it asked me too much in term of suspension of disbelief. Xenoblade's world, with its fauna, was presented as too different from our real world for me to accept plain polar bears within its setting, if that makes sense. - the gameplay takes too much time to get going. Mechanics are added well over 30 hours into the game. And I don't mean explained, I mean literally added. To the point that I stopped the game before being able to honestly assess the gameplay. There are whole parts of the system I don't know about, simply because I didn't make it there. Now, in itself, it's not really a negative, I mean, I understand complex combat systems take time to learn. But the problem here is that the gameplay can't be the reason why you stick to the game, meaning you have to like and enjoy the rest of the game to get to the good parts of the gameplay. You see what I mean? I was already on the fence with the previous two points. If I had access to the whole gameplay, I may have kept playing, and even come to enjoy the story, because different parts of a game are complementary, and if you start liking something, you're more likely to enjoy the rest, even overlooking some things you don't like. But the opposite is true : I really didn't like the presentation of the story and the world-building, and as such, I began to criticize the mechanics...and it was all downward from that. In conclusion, I really didn't like Xenoblade 2, but I can see people enjoying it. I think I gave it a fair shot with 30+ hours in it. I didn't invest 100% into it, but it was a fair shot. Oh well, my loss. Opinions are based on self-justification. If you love something, you will overlook flaws. If you hate something, you will nitpick. Just be conscious of that, and form your own opinion! =)
