I remember in my first clinical rotation I was so anxious about having to know everything. Which sounds foolish but it really can be overwhelming. My preceptor sat me down and told me “common things happen commonly” and to basically build off of that. Now My last day of school is Valentine’s Day (so 3 weeks) and I’m telling you what... that phrase sticks with me. It’s important to research and learn nuance but that phrase has really helped me. I’ve similarly listed the most common things to come through the ED and tried to be a master of them like you said. Great video! 💜

I start my first NP job on Wednesday...this couldn't be more timely!! Thank you 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I was going to wait until I got to my clinic to find out the top 10 that are seen there, but this gives me a good start. Looking forward to the lab interpretation book recommendation!💛

I'm thrilled to see you back. You have been my inspiration through every step of my NP school journey. I graduated !!! Now I am hoping to get into an internship program with a federally funded clinic that takes care of the homeless.

Thank you Lourdes! It's good to be back. Congrats on your graduation!!! This is a HUGE accomplishment. I hope you treated yourself to something nice because you definitely deserve it. I love your plan to work for an FQHC. Working for an FQHC has been one of my greatest decisions. It's so gratifying to give back to the community and play a part in breaking down the barriers to healthcare that so many Americans face every day.

I am desperately in need of a mentor. I was following another nurse practitioner up until recently when he made a video about how the field of nurse practitioners is oversaturated, nursing schools are churning out people that shouldn’t be a nurse practitioners, the job market is on a downward slope, and how he views his job as an abusive relationship and I must say I became quite discouraged as I near the end of my nurse practitioner school this year. I am hoping to get back on track mentally.

Hello Kimberly, I can understand how you feel. I actually made a video about this subject last year. This video may answer some of your questions and calm some of your fears 👇🏾 kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYR82s2Qmtu5dbQ.html Brendon Burchard: "Unfortunately, most people have allowed their motivation to be dampened by the social spheres to which they restrict themselves. Few things amplify our long-term motivation more than a positive social environment."

Great video! Thank you for sharing more of your tips. I recently interviewed with a practice who said eventually I should see up to 35-40 patients a day. I was wondering how many patients do you see in a day now with your experience? Thank you in advance
