I really wish octobrush had something like trizooka or ink strike or literally anything than zipcaster. I'm sure some highly skilled player is able to become a spiderman assassin with it but I'm certainly not able to currently. I don't even need the replacement special to be very good, just something else that feels like it contributes more to the team

@@leftovernoise Octobrush is one of the best weapons to have zipcaster, but I completely understand why you would want a different special cause zipcaster is hard to use and it’s not even very strong rn. I’d say the weapon and special needs a buff to be good without a stronger kit.

The only thing here that looks problematic is the burst bomb. The rest is usually just a factor of a poor design a special like missile to me. I think itl eventually happen as the sub and special choices expand each game. But it prolly won't happen for S3 unless if its a side mode/PB option.

I honestly think mist would be unbelievable on a roller because of how effectively it could trap opponents and allow the roller to close in for the splat. There's probably a reason they don't put it on rollers. Letting someone deplete most of their ink, splashing mist on them, and closing in could be especially devastating

If you've got time as a roller to throw mist, then kill, odds are good you've got time to just kill the person. If you throw a toxic mist against a good player and try to rush them down, the player will just shoot you down as you rush them. Mist can't really force people to move out of problematic spots either, whereas a bomb can. Also, bombs paint a bit, while mist doesn't. These are all important reasons why mist on roller just wouldn't help it that much

I wish private battles had a mode that allowed you to do this exact thing with a group of friends

i wish we could get a splattershot with burst bomb and zip caster sounds so fun to me

@@SJrad I hated Fizzy bomb too for the same reason, then I picked it up in very late Splat 2 and now it's one of my favourite sub weapons. What really makes it for me besides the insane painting is it's crazy range. It feels like you can throw it much further than other bombs. I wonder though if this range will be one of the ways they nerf it later in Splat 3.

I wish Trizooka had a bit of a longer start up time. It's so fast that it can function as a panic button against basically everything apart from the fastest killing weapons in the game. All other offensive specials have decent start up times and/or telegraphs, and Trizooka really needs that as well.

I've had multiple instances where I was like "Oh I guess I just didnt notice them pull it out. guess they are only getting 2 shots out of it this time" but it was literally they pulled it out and immediately shot it. Its too good rn and I wouldn't be surprised if we see it get nerfed in some way on the next major balance update.

The special is a bit too inconspicuous. It’s easy to tell when someone uses basically any other special, but it’s often too late to react once you see those Trizooka rockets heading towards you.

@@TGCPhilip That's not really a valid weakness - Stingray and Tenta Missiles are also abysmal at close quarters and they're some of the worst special designs we've seen. The way you get around "bad at close range" is simply "don't position poorly when you know you want to use it". All of the above said, Trizooka is still capable of functioning at close range vs all but the fastest kill-time weapons. It will basically always be able to get one shot off as a panic button and up close the hitbox is so large that it's fairly difficult to not at least trade 1-for-1.

You predicted the Carbon Roller Deco

I think the clash blaster would benefit more from the curling bomb like the neo in Splatoon 2. It gives a lot of mobility which I find really helps because once you have a clash behind you it’s going to be tough to come out of that alive. It’s also extremely helpful when trying to push with the clash.

Curling can be useful but it removes your ability to impact players at a distance and has no combos in fights (unless you bank the curling) so typically a bomb that can do both is better here.

Imagine a roller with Fizzy. And then something like Booyah.

I just really want a splatana with the slash speed of the wiper with the angle dart for tracking and getting cleanup kills on people running away, and a booyah bomb special. That just sounds so fun to me!

My thing about having customizable kits is just how no one will want to have a weapon without a bomb. Even tho they may add more subs/weapons/specials in future games making it seem like “they’re gonna have to do it eventually” doesn’t really mean they should because what’s the point of having more weapons/options if everyone’s just gonna pick the best ones

I think it's really interesting to see how much kits can effect a weapon- switching from 2 to 3 has had me completely changing which weapons I use the most, which I didn't expect at all! In 2 my three favorite weapons were splatling remix, vanilla blob, and kensa Jr. So far in 3, I've played mostly octobrush, range blaster, and jet squelchers. My dream weapon kit would be a Jr with torpedoes and echolocator, though I would probably take any shooter kit with torpedoes at this point lol.

I play tri-stringer and was telling one my friends that splash wall would be really good on it. Good to see that I'm thinking the same as top level players.

I like mist on it but the wall would be fantastic. I personally would have picked a big bubble for a special. But that's mostly because I don't want the same special on it as I do my charger lol. Watch the Dev's do something bonkers like sprinkler and hammer. :/ I love the tri stringer but fear for its future

Honestly I really like its current kit. Everything compliments each other really well. I can see why splash wall would be good with because it opens up more snipe spots, but tbh I dont get the ink vac choice.

6:17 I honestly think that kit could be insanely good while also staying healthy for the game. With how ink hungry explo is, you won't be able to throw many burst bombs after even just a few shots, so you probably won't be able to hit two burst bombs. Burst bombs also provide quick paint which explo desperately needs. Wavebreaker seems fantastic because you won't need to hit two shots anymore, and it can help keep enemies out of the zone while the explo player stalls it. Fantastic kit that won't break the game.

I feel this really shows the issue with custom kits. Not only would it lead to some unholy combos but certain subs and specials will just never be seen in any competitive context

Honestly I like ink brush with killer whale 5.1 cause it allows you to deal with short and long range opponents and see where they are so you can rush them while they are running from the killer whale

You have no idea how upset I am that Mini Splatling has burst bombs (which I think work very well for it) but also has ultra stamper, which means any future kit we get for it will not have burst bombs ever again.

Yeah true, I never understood how people think dapple kit is bad. Tacticooler for extra speed and supportiveness. And beakons to annoy the hell out of the enemy and give team jumps. Personally dapples do NOT need a bomb. If they were to get one, I’d want them to get curling. It annoys me that people think a weapon without a bomb automatically means low tier weapon.

If I had big bubbler on dualie squelchers, my life would be so much easier. I usually flank and shut down a large area for my team to do the objective, so it will keep me a little bit safe from those pesky back liners because splatlings are my weakness.

Hydra main here. I would love to have ink mines. And I do love my Booyah Bomb, though I think Tenta Missiles would be *slightly* better as it would not only tell me where my foes are (and with my long range I might be able to hit some of them) But also flush them out of cover and possibly chip damage them letting me take them out faster. A hail of hydra ink is already a strong area denial tool so it doesn't synergize as well with Booyah as it could.

Personally I think tri stringer should have a burst bomb or something similar to combat close range because while a wall could help with chargers, I feel like it really struggles in close quarters currently.

Tbh, as long as Ballpoint has a support special AND beakons in a single kit, then I'll be happy. Just wait for Ballpoint to get Zipcastor on the Nouveau kit :(. Actually, now that I say this, it might be like if E-Liter had Zipcastor.

I think Tri stringer could also greatly benefit from burst bomb as I find it works really well with doing chip damage to people so burst bomb would be great for that

Now I'm not a pro player by any means, I'm low A at best, but I really think that, assuming the meta shifts in the future, Burst Bomb/Tacticooler would be SUPER good for Tri Slosher, though that may just be me wanting my support slosher back.

I love base charger kit it’s so perfect and I will never let that go!! If they had to give it another kit I would like fizzy bomb and inkzooka though since I love both of them but base kit is so perfect

Really like the Dynamo kit you came up with, even though I have leaned on Tacticooler as a crutch wall to protect my feet when holding a choke. If that ends up being Gold's kit would be very happy.

I honestly just want the kit for aerospray mg had in splatoon 2, it was such a beast in splatzones suction bomb to block off some areas and the special to deny entry with a barrage or take over the zone quickly. I just hope the add something similar in the future

i've been using the classic squiffer since day 1 of splatoon 3, and surprisingly, i actually like having point sensor on it. makes ninja squid users easier to snipe and it makes my teammates crowd around the enemies that i couldn't kill by myself (a.k.a. enemies that are trying to rush me). also, i absolutely agree about having burst bomb + zipcaster on the tri-slosher. i used to be a very aggressive tri-slosher main back in splat2, and the tri-slosher kit in splat3 is... not too great for aggressive plays. i think toxic mist is better for longer ranged weapons, and i SUCK at using inkjet so... no more tri-slosher for me until another kit is released :')

suffering some severe withdrawal without the old jet squelcher kits, but the splat bomb sounds insane for it. i miss the sting ray already...

Angler Shooter on Bamboo could be a pretty good fit. It would almost act as an extension of its range

Honestly I personally think the goo tuber's kit is perfect as is, the torpedo just feels good on the weapon, not to mention the torpedo one tap combo it has

Splatana stamper, being in my top 5 weapons rn, I think big bubbler would be the special for it. Stamper has a kind of niche were it can always win a 1v1, against short range weapons you just stay at a range(serously, this things combos at range are ridiculous), and long range weapons you bully with combos up close. But, in 2v1s and your opponents both have different effective ranges, you are kinda screwed. Like, imagine your are fighting a team with a range blaster and dapple dualies. From far away, you destroy the dapples. From close up, you destroy the range. But the opposite is true as well. Up close, 80 times out of 100 you are going to lose against the dapples. Range contests areas at a range better than you do. If they play together, you are never going to win a 2v1 against them. I think big bubble could help with this weakness by giving your teammates a save option to jump and help you, while making it so you at least have to have 3-4 players on your to constest your area. It could also help with its niche of holding areas really well

Since there were a few subs/specials that didn't make it in, I'd kinda love to see a follow-up survey (or even a video) on what veterans feel would be the best kit to build around something like Angle Shooter or Tacticooler.

.52 gal is probably one of the weapons I use the most considering it’s in the meta and is a huge damage dealer. Can’t wait for new weapon update! Also, I think the dualies kit is actually better than it’s current kit because if it was me using it, my gameplay would be a butt-ton better since I go offense and poke at other players.

I think Torpedo is already a perfect sub for splatanna wiper, as the direct hit does 60dmg and that adds up well with the charge shot which also does 60. Torpedo also being a big delayed could lead you you hitting them twice, or leave you to hit them again if you missed the first and they didn’t shoot it down. With burst bomb, you will have to hit directs with it and that’s not as common due to latency.

As an Explosher main, this is the exact kit I'd been hoping one of the variant gets.

I love the idea of a super pestering Undercover Brella, with Torpedoes and Wave Breaker, to have too many targets for your enemy to shoot!

Honestly I feel like burst bomb would be better on tri-stringer. The amount of times I hit 2 arrows instead of 3, having a burst bomb to follow up would be extremely nice.

Jr. with angle shooter could be pretty stupid, probably still bad but with the larger tank and low cost of angle shooter could be super spamable with some sub saver

what id find very interesting as we dont want to feed into any missile spam until missiles get reworked is 96 getting crabtank as its special for the insane tankyness it provides as well as even more enhanced range pressure while recieving splashwall to make it extremely hard to kill or alternatively torpedo/fizzy for damage combos poking, paint etc given burst bomb cant guranteed kill from an indirect anymore without mpu

I feel like Undercover would appreciate Killer Wail 5.1 a lot more, to help with 1) Damage over range 2) Tags for assists/kills for shield regen 3) being an extra passive damage option so shield can stay up Trizooka may help with 1 and 2, while Wave can help with 2 and 3, but Wail just feels like it might work better

Looking at what people thought at the start of the game is really cool would be interested to see how many kits have changed by now

The machine kit is what competitive players see in their nightmares.

Been playing alot of vblaster and tri stringer sense release so I thought I'd put my opinion in: id give blaster torpedo for combos/enemy manipulation but keep the bubble, the ink refill + survivability is way too nice to get rid of for me. For tri stringer id want torpedo again for the same reasons but give it wave breaker for even more combos as well as the free marks being dope for a weapon like bow.

I feel like a lot of these sets would have been perfectly acceptable in Splatoon 1, where they generally did try to make sub / special sets that had good synergy with the main weapon.

Let's hope the Splatoon Devs take note of this video and make these into different kits

Idk if all of them should have these but generally I prefer the stronger kits for sure. But for example id love torp crab with rapid (krapid 2) instead. As long as the kit is good and makes sense i like it.

For Octo, I always thought that either auto or torpedo would work best. They're able to close distance well, but they need a tic to remove long range shooters and snipers from their spot

What are your thoughts if bring back the Tempered Dynamo roller? If it was given a Splatoon 3 kit it would most likely have Auto Bomb & Killer Wail 5.1 (similar to it's old kit being seeker and regular killer wail) It's one of the very few weapons that hasn't been crossed over to another game

Could you maybe do a tier list of every weapon in the game, and great job on the video

something interesting is that a few subs were only picked on one or two weapons, also I'd argue while pika's kit is a good fit for blob it feels like they're not looking for the most broken possible option, imo Burst/Missile on blob would be similarly broken at denying areas and blob paints enough to be a broken missile spammer

Imo, I think the Kensa sit is the best for the Luna Blaster. The Fizzy bomb allows to have better approach option while displacing opponents on elevated platforms it can’t reach. Rainstorm allows it to control an area while finishing off people who have been chipped down by the rain

My tri stringer special would be triple inkstrike, ink vac just requires you to go in too much and tri stringer really struggles at closer ranges. For sub, I can see splash wall, as that would negate chargers which are a struggle sometimes, but I think a bigger weakness of stringer's is that it cant paint its feet almost at all (which is most of why it can't play close range), I think a burst or curling bomb to help it with mobility while at close range would make it kinda insane, allowing it to go in close for some insane partial charge 1 shots and things like that without dying as soon as it doesnt have charge and an enemy gets nearby

The splat dualies is literally my dream kit, close enough to my old main (the enperries) yet different enough to feel fresh

I was a loyal enperry main since the day I got the game, I just love the inkjet so much plus I absolutely enjoy the mobility of curling bombs (The inkjet was actually the reason I got into the game, It reminded me of mario sunshine a bunch and its my favorite mario game)

I really hope ballpoint gets its perfect kit, it looks like it would be a lot of fun.

Rapid Blaster is my favorite weapon. My dream kit for the deco is suction bomb and ink vac.

honestly i feel like big bubbler would be great for squeezer but i think burst bomb might be better just simply for the purpose of decreasing killtime and stuff idk i just want to see squeezer with a burst bomb tbh 💀
