When you see the materials & the work involved it's easy to see the prices that are asked for by these beautiful basses. I have the onboard preamp on my Fender Jazz but would love to try a Sadowsky to see how it feels & plays. Playability is the most important factor for me. The purple bass looks amazing.

It would be nice to have a quick peak & commentary into access cavity without the lid on. Otherwise very well done. Thank you Sadowsky team.

showing the weight in each bass's specification will win over most other brands. In data we believe, and in weigth and stiffness bassists believe.

If i had the money, i go for a non conventional Sadowsky selection of wood that Warwick is known for, to have the best of both world! I'm also double the Neck PU for a more fat tone and a zerofret that i love!

Informative interview. I would have guessed the matching headstocks would be fake wood grain, impressed they are not.

I have a Japanese Metro M5-24 - always thinkin about a switchable neck soapbar to single mode... maybe it's not a big challenge to modify, but doesn't really wanna modify it, really love the sound of the original config too... :DDD Great video, lovely woods there! I'd order all of them for a single instrument, haha!!...

would love to know the actual sound differences with each wood which are higher and lower, and is the solid body naturally higher in pitch

Thanks for the video and I would like to ask a question . Why is the sound different between 24frets and 21 frets . I think basses with 21frets have got more punchy sound and tighter string tension . Thanks

Hi Erhan, this depends on the construction as you normally have more mass on the neckjoint area on a 21 fret compared to a 24 fret. On a 24 fret bass you have of course a different tone. The string tension is the same. Tighter tension is normally coming from the breakangle of bridge or Headstock.

I watched this video with great interest but what blew me away as the owner of an NYC 5 string was seeing a wood cover on the control cavity on one of the basses. I would love to replace the plastic one on mine with one made of wood. Is that possible to order from the coustom shop?

Thanks for the info. Are the metroline bodies one piece or more? I was curious when putting the bodies together if the pieces are matched together or all different pieces.

Hi Darrin, the body wood is one piece which is being chambered and then a top is glued on which mostly consists of two "bookmatched" pieces. In this video we explain in detail how it is done: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6Zt15VterOafdI.html The video is part two of a series of videos in which we go through the entire production process, to be found in this playlist: kzread.info/head/PL5qQv2lBVLQvG1ztO6Aw-Yvdg9dXCMdTJ The process is the same for most of our models and lines, for custom shop instruments there is more room for changes that are tailored to the customer's wishes.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know why the logo has changed on the metroline headstock? I noticed a few with a curved "Sadowsky" logo, but now see a straight one? Does this diminish the value of the earlier builds?

  • @SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial

Hi Darrin! The curved headstock logo was a thing we did for a short time in 2020 but changed it back soon after, because it caused some confusion at the customer end. The logo itself does not increase or diminish the value of our basses but the earlier german made builds from 2020 do in fact differ minimally. For example early german made Sadowsky basses did not feature the Sodowsky Just-A-Nut III, which was an addition made around 3- months into production and needed to be realized for a serial build.
