Thanks a ton dude. I’ve been buying UCP gear recently. There’s so much surplus available now for the civilian market and for so cheap that you just can’t say no. I’ve always liked digi-camo, even UCP when new and not faded, even as ineffective as it was. Dyeing it 100% cures all ills. I think the Sandy is perfect.

all of those look pretty great, and the dyeing works better when the gear was already very sun faded,it really helps to catch the dye even more

I feel dumb for not thinking of this sooner. This would be a great way for guys wanting to have budget-friendly uniforms for their prepared citizens/ militia groups. "ACU" sells for dirt cheap compared to other stuff on the market. Get your buddies to all pitch in and dye a whole vat of the stuff at the same time so it's all as close to "uniform" dye job as possible. Ta-da. Useable camouflage uniforms at a fraction of the cost.

Ummm, I think I used a large size on these? So is go large or extra large. The key is making sure you have enough water to completely submerge your ruck. Which depends what on your item and the container you are dying it in

I've been dying for awhile now. UCP is cheap and so is dye. You can rattle can to tone down the color of you're not using the chart to create better colors i.e. using peacock green instead of creating od green

  • @tylerbryanhead

@CitadelDefense1 that's what I'm saying! It was like a pinkish-redish-orange. I did ¼ chocolate brown and ¼ cup apricot orange to 3 gallons like the website said and followed the bottle instructions. I should have done the test piece that I meant to do but I got excited and did a whole uniform. I'm not blaming anyone but me, but still it's like none of the brown took and the orange took immediately and darkly. Any way that you'd be willing to post a video on your process? Yours looks fantastic, that color would match where I live perfectly. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in that video!

Idye poly works a lot better and easier to use. Dyes super quick and doesn't run after washing. Only problem is finding the right colors. tested the normal green but it comes off too dark and bluish for my environment. Waiting on olive to arrive for my next round

@@doloinc the main reason I stick to Rit dyes is because my first experiment with Dharma Acid Dyes was a complete fail, so I fell back on what seems to be the general standard on YT which is Rit Apple Green, and admittedly I have been getting some good results with that

@@thatpackguy I picked up on Idye poly from Renaissance Marine. It's crazy how quick it works and how well the dye sets, considering how much cheaper it is. Only downside so far is I have only tested one color that I didn't like and still need to find the right dye or a mix that can get my gear to an olive drab. I would have went with Rit dyemore but it's too expensive where I'm at and they won't ship it here because it's a liquid.

@@CitadelDefense1 You’re welcome, do your research we have tested it with PVS 14 WP , PVS 30 G and others and it was clearly the top performer, “We own the night” is an actual thing, also in further ranges it’s very effective, look at Brent0331 desert video, make your day.. stop acting like you know it all you don’t, AOR1,2 were all developed by Natick as was UCP, it’s also desert/urban/snow on one side and woodland on the other side of the sun, meaning shadow lined, let me guess you knew that too huh?
