I’ve fished my entire life and only had one hook pass the barb in me. Anybody else been that lucky?😂

I've never had one get past the barb. I say that now next tim I go I'll have to cut the hook to get one out lol.

My best friend, took a girl that he liked, fishing on Lanier. With a crankbait, he buried a few hooks, from two different trebles, past the barbs, right in her shin! There was definitely blood on the deck, and after a trip to the ER, it was their last "get together". As for me, my dad hooked me in the chin, out on Hartwell. He didn't realize it, and immediately started flicking the rod tip, like he was hung in a limb and trying to tug it free. That's the only hook that has passed the barb, so I've been pretty lucky. Love your channel, and the only one that I've clicked the bell! Keep posting, and I'll keep watching.

Had one past the barb in my forearm when I was a kid fishing with my dad on his boat. On the transition forward in his cast it slapped into my arm and he knew by the sound and tension he got me. I was looking the other way and was quiet for a minute until the shock sunk in, then I yelled ouch, you got me. Luckily he knew how to remove it and about 5 minutes later we were back to fishing.

I mash barbs on all of my crankbaits and only really leave them on my finesse setups. It's pretty common in fly fishing circles, but I don't see it with most traditional bass fisherman. Any reason why?

I got my Carolina rig on the pole and reel I bought at your bass clinic several months ago!

I use the Carolina for surf fishing perch in SoCal. I pre tie a couple swivel to hook leaders then if I bust off, I just have to put a sinker and tie on the swivel. I like the c rig a lot. Cool video.

Going to try this tomorrow!

Black lizard with chartreuse tail is really good during early post spawn. I think egg sinker comes through rock better than tear shaped brass weights. Good video

BLAT when you rig a Carolina rig put your sinker on then add one glass bead then a brass clacker then another glass bead. After that put a bob stop then tie the barrel swivel on. The bob stop protects the top knot on the swivel then the leader and hook.

I may have only been fishing for 25 years of my life but from my experience leader length for some species matters more than others. Like there's some species that just don't care how long your leader is and there's some line shy species that do. But I find regardless of the species the longest I'll ever need to go for leader length is 2 ft even with braided fishing line. Also I find in heavy current I need at least 2 oz weights to stay at the bottom but in stillwater I can get away with 3/4 oz to 1 oz but I never go any lighter than 3/4 oz in stillwater personally.

You need a bead to protect your knotfrom weight and the hook needs to be a light wire hook for easier penetration

My neighborhood pond is very pressured so I tried a Carolina rig for a different presentation and it seems to be working pretty well.

I didn't believe in different line leaders until my boy gave me his rig with a braid leader🤯 the sensitivity went up 100% I could feel every rock, stump, nick, tap....ect.👍🏾

Wow I just got off the phone with one of your salesmen he told me he was filming for something. I ordered some lures and some plastic. I ordered crankbaits and some Plastics off your website and it's just weird your video popped up and your guy stated that he was filming so that was kind of cool but nice video keep them up and one day I hope I run into you on the water or at the podium.

use live bait with your "carolina rig"... we use these everywhere, your right and i don't know why they call these "carolins rigs". i have use these as a child in florida decades ago. we called these, "bottom egg rigs" or "freeswim rigs".

Brain what to you think about using the carolina keeper for the Carolina rig?

What about the bite and hookset? Is it any different than a texas rig? B. Lat probably won't reply, so any info will be appreciated.

how do you chose your leader line length? Ive seen you make a video on it and you said do 2 arms lengths but recently in one of your recent videos you only pulled 1 arm length and a half. How do you chose your leader length now?
