I'm amazed too, the Story of the Cave is an amazing fiction story of Christian Wisdom.

A friend told me about this wonderful story and it was so amazing to me that I decided to memorise the whole Surah. Alhamdoulilah I ve got it. I invite all muslims go do so

I would strongly recommend learning the Arabic in the Quran as suggested in the Quran. Quranic Arabic is vague, one word could mean many, it gives the reader a chance to ponder and reflect what is read. English translations try to exact the meaning of Quranic text taking away the ability to ponder the meaning of sentences. Also the english translations totally miss the beautiful rhythm contained in the Arabic words throughout the Quran. I would say read the english translations and listen to the recitations as well. Quran Arabic isn’t that hard really and that much easier if you pray about it. I started by listening a lot then watched vids on Arabic grammar from letters to sentence structure.

Don't forget to read Ayat el Kursi after each pray, before bed and before stepping out of your home 😊🤲

The Quran mentions 300 years plus nine more, so 309 years. Allah knows best

Cave of Ashabe-Kahf (exterior) The Cave of the Ashabe-Kahf This is regarded as the cave in which a group of pious youths (equated with the Christian legend of the ‘Sleepers of Ephesus’) sought refuge from a tyrannical pagan king and in which Allah (ﷻ) caused them to sleep for 300 years. Their story is mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah Kahf. The cave is located in the suburb of Abu Alanda in Amman. In around 250 CE there ruled a Roman king called Daqyanoos (Decius) who would annually hold a gathering dedicated to the worshipping of idols. Many people would attend, dressed in their best clothing. However, one youth believed in the oneness of Allah (ﷻ), the teachings of Isa (عليه السلام) and shunned pagan worship. He rebelled against the practices that were happening in the society. He attracted another youth and then another to form a small group. When the king heard of their rebellion he became very angry and issued a command for them to be killed. In order to save their iman (faith) they fled and went into hiding. On their escape route they met a young farmer who owned a dog; they gave him da’wah, he accepted and decided to also join them. Eventually they came to a cave in which they made dua to Allah (ﷻ) for ease. They decided to take rest there for a while, leaving the dog (named Qitmir) near the entrance as a guard. Allah (ﷻ) caused them and the dog to sleep for 300 years. Allah (ﷻ) describes their sleeping in the Holy Quran in Surah Kahf: “You would have thought they were awake, though they lay asleep. We turned them over, to the right and the left, with their dog stretching out its forelegs at the entrance. If you had seen them, you would turn and run away, filled with fear of them.” [18:18] The Quran further states that the period of time these sleepers spent in the cave was 300 years during which the calendar of their people was changed from solar to lunar and, as a result, the period of their sleep was 309 years. When they woke up, they had no idea they slept for centuries and thought they had only slept a few hours. When they sent one of them to buy food, the shopkeeper was amazed to see such old coins and the reality of the time they had spent in the cave gradually came to light. The present ruling king, whom some scholars have identified as Tandoosees, was a believer who came on foot to see them and seek their blessings. When these young men died they were buried in the cave along with their dog. The bones of these youth and the dog are visible to see inside. Apart from Amman in Jordan, the location of the cave is also claimed to be in Turkey. And Allah (ﷻ) knows best.

I've been visiting seven sleepers cave in Jordan, for my opinion I believe in Jordan not turkey. But only the God to know everything

This is my favourite video by a mile. Beautiful lesson and I finally know why it is advised to read Surah Kahf

I like to have my young kids listen to these as reminders again and again. The graphics help keep their attention. I'm glad there aren't too much howling and moaning sound effects in the background of this one. Some of the videos have an absurd amount of repetitive crazy sounds that are extremely annoying and serve no purpose.

nobody knows their number it's said in Quran : They will say there were three, the fourth of them being their dog; and they will say there were five, the sixth of them being their dog - guessing at the unseen; and they will say there were seven, and the eighth of them was their dog. Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord is most knowing of their number. None knows them except a few. So do not argue about them except with an obvious argument and do not inquire about them among [the speculators] from anyone." Surah Al-Kahf [22]

I wonder why their number is kept hidden?! Wierd!!! Oh well god is unknown for the massive part so everything he do have the possibility to invoke wierdness for us. Or is it? Fear of punishment barely affects anyone when his direct presence is so subtle that it raises question about his existence. The supreme disguiser.

It did actually. In the quran it says something along the line of: They said the men were 5 which is wrong then they said they were 6 which is wrong then they say they were 7 and the verse goes on without stating that 7 was wrong

Yes Allah say, " Some will say they where 3 and the 4th was their dog, some will say tzey was 5 and the 6th was their dog while some will say thei where 7 and the 8th was their dog, Allah knows theyr nr best." (Sura Kahf)

@Suhaila Cactus "giving them the best *explanation* of what's in the Qur'an from other sources" - why would you want that? Islam/Quran al Kareem is a very old and deep philosophy...it is a huge mistake to give someone an explanation...I mean it's not a mistake to give it, but it is a big one to take it. You should think about it yourself and make your own explanation, because we are not *sheep*, we are human beings. "This is the studies that were done by the *best* scholars in Islam" - who decides they are the best scholars?

Qur'an - 18:10 - [Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance." Qur'an - 18:11 - So We cast [a cover of sleep] over their ears within the cave for a number of years. Qur'an - 18:12 - Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions was most precise in calculating what [extent] they had remained in time. Qur'an - 18:13 - It is We who relate to you, [O Muhammad], their story in truth. Indeed, they were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance. Qur'an - 18:14 - And We made firm their hearts when they stood up and said, "Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. Never will we invoke besides Him any deity. We would have certainly spoken, then, an excessive transgression. Qur'an - 18:15 - These, our people, have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not bring for [worship of] them a clear authority? And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie?" Qur'an - 18:16 - [The youths said to one another], "And when you have withdrawn from them and that which they worship other than Allah, retreat to the cave. Your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy and will prepare for you from your affair facility." Qur'an - 18:17 - And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were [laying] within an open space thereof. That was from the signs of Allah . He whom Allah guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He leaves astray - never will you find for him a protecting guide. Qur'an - 18:18 - And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. And We turned them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his forelegs at the entrance. If you had looked at them, you would have turned from them in flight and been filled by them with terror". Qur'an - 18:19 - And similarly, We awakened them that they might question one another. Said a speaker from among them, "How long have you remained [here]?" They said, "We have remained a day or part of a day." They said, "Your Lord is most knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city and let him look to which is the best of food and bring you provision from it and let him be cautious. And let no one be aware of you. Qur'an - 18:20 - Indeed, if they come to know of you, they will stone you or return you to their religion. And never would you succeed, then - ever." Qur'an - 18:21 - And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid." All praise be to Almighty Allah, Creator of the Universe. The story of the sleeping youths, who woke up after 300 years, and everything was just like yesterday. Even the villagers remembered their story of going missing, plus their names. Such is Almighty God, who has sent us Covid 19 coronavirus, with mankind in total chaos and panic. Only by praying to Him sincerely will affliction be lifted, Inshallah. May Allah have mercy on us, for all our faults. Thanks for sharing video.

And it's us that moves away from Him by not being mindful of Him and committing sins. Ya Allah, increase me and every believing men and women in Eeman, Taqwa and Yaqeen and ease our affairs for us.
