After seeing how the Penguin character is portrayed in The Batman movie, the trailer looks and feels like a continuation of that same dark, gritty, and more realistic take on one of Batman's iconic villains. I really enjoy watching Colin Farrell portray the Penguin more like a mobster from the old days. Colin himself has relayed that he was inspired by Fredo Corleone from the The Godfather movie.

Colin Farrell is such an amazing actor. I wish he was shorter, or pulled a Leguizamo for the role, but... Fuck, can that man act. You can almost completely forget he's Irish in the role.

When they picked Farrell for the role I was like "wait, what?". When the first image came out prior to the movie I was like "ok, this looks good". When the movie came out and we got his acting as Penguin I was like "geez, he is really good". Now watching this trailer I am like "that's perfect casting right there".

The trailer gave me a soprano/true detective vibe which is amazing

I think the most interesting thing that this show will be able to give us is, the mainstream idea that comic shows can be dark and still sell. Sure, netflix pulled it off with Punisher and Daredevil, but they were quickly pushed into the light when the MCU popped. DC has a good shot here to bring in some of their darker stories that make up most of their comics.

I wouldn't even say "DC" has a good shot, because Reeves doesn't want this to be apart of the greater universe. He's going about this the perfect way and I'm legitimately hyped!

It doesn't take a genius to watch a trailer and look at what's on the screen. These breakdowns require no effort, especially considering several breakdown channels just blatantly don't even try to get certain details right and pass off their own hearsay as factual information

It's still properly scary that this is Colin Farell playing The Penguin. The make up and effects on The Penguin are truly outstanding.

Who knows, in the Arkham city games, Penguin's iceberg Lounge has "ice and winter" elements to it. Do you think Mr.Freeze can potentially play a role into this?

This trailer was INCREDIBLE! I've been waiting so long for a proper comic book TV series. Since it's on HBO they don't have to shy away from the source material's inherent violence and adult themes. Can't wait for this!

They'll probably make the Batman a looming figure in the background of this sstory so the focus can stay on Penguin. Im excited!!

I think it look amazing. I watched the Batman without ever seeing a trailer or having any info and I was blow away with Colin playing Oswald. I had no clue it was him.

I’d save him for a potential season 2. I’d debut him in a potential Catwoman spin-off as Roman Sionis. Catwoman causes whatever damage to his face. He heads to Gotham for The Penguin season 2.

I don't think there's any way that he'll appear, but part of the "No Man's Land" story arc saw Lex Luthor come in to rebuild Gotham as a power play. It'd be cool to see him appear, as we haven't really seen him interact with anyone outside of Superman, save for the end of BvS.

Looks like they just want another godfather type movie using Batman villans. Changing them completely human. What made penguin is he was a mutant who embraced his looks as a strength not a gimmick.

Farrel is going to give an amazing performance in this. Shame they won't acknowledge him at awards season.

Doom Patrol & Peacemaker are the best live-action comic tv shows, thus far. The Penguin definitely looks like it's destined to be on par with these two shows.

I think Shohreh is playing Maroni's wife, who is running things while he is in prison.

If Bruce where to be in the show it'd be neat to see him as the billionaire looking to ruin penguin sense we didn't get much of that from him in the first movie. However it would make more sense if he disassociates himself with that crowd based on what happened. It would also make for better continuity for the next movie so probably not. hope they take some pages out of the sopranos and adapt it with plots in the comics.

Would be neat to see Emperor Penguin show up

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that Dillon Ave. is named to memorialize the late, great Steve Dillon, artist on Punisher, Preacher, and many famous runs for Marvel and DC. I actually don't know what his direct connection to Batman was, but his brother Glyn designed the new bat suit.

If we’re seeing penguin getting a right hand man, it could be interesting to have this mirrored with Bruce adopting Dick Grayson and seeing about it in a news article in the show. Then introduce robin with a cameo of the dynamic duo at the end of the show??

Trailer has me asking just one question…where is the Calendar Man??? He was an active part of Batman’s investigation into the Holiday Killer and if this series is loosely based on that, it would be great if they bring that more psychotic portrayal of is usually seen as a D-list level Bat villain to the small screen 😁

We'll probably hear of batman and the villain he'll be fighting in the next movie but I dont think batman himself will show up maybe just references but not a full cameo

Colin Farrell is just… top of the barrel as it gets. Cant wait… Would love to see Pattinson as ONLY Bruce Wayne in the show a few times here and there. Doing outreach. In a restaurant. At a party. Showing what he learned at the end of The Batman, that he gas to be more than Vengeance, and using his Bruce Wayne mask to accomplish more in the light of day…
