This will be DC's third gangster property after A Road To Perdition and The Kitchen. It looks fantastic and we need more variety to comic book movies and shows. Marvel should do stuff outside MCU as well.

It does seem very interesting. Also kind of read up on the direction of what they’re doing with this series and with this character, my understanding the Rex Calabrese character that the penguin spoke about is supposed to be his father for in this rendition of the penguin he is ethnically, Italian and Sicilian And he’s a made member I believe a capo Falcone crime, family. And the penguin is the illegitimate son of Rex Calabrese, in which Rex was the one time mafia Godfather of the Gotham crime family. Before Carmine Falcone took over and renamed the family, the Falcone family with the approval of the mafia commission, which is also in this universe. Which causes Sal Maroni Who was a capo in the original crime family to attempt to split off and form his own family things got worse when Carmine Falcone used police and federal connections to get Sal Maroni locked up in a huge narcotics sweep. My source told me that Carmine and Sal were both capos under Rex Calabrese. And the reason why the penguin has the last name Copelpott and not a traditional Italian last name is because he was adopted by a Jewish attorney who knew Rex. And Rex kept the penguin or Oz Copelpott A secret from his wife, because Oz is the illegitimate son of Rex. From an Italian American prostitute, who passed away from a drug overdose Rex secretly took care of us until he died and trusted the attorney to continue to take care of them and later introduced him to the mob life in which he befriended carmine, who later made him a member because he is fully Italian just has an adopted last name so from my source tells me that this is the penguin who by the movie the Batman was already a capo by that time attempt to feel that power vacuum. I hope my source is correct on this because if this is accurate, this will be a real gangster flick not some comic book stuff.

I got me a little excited but I want to get more of a sense of a strong ensemble cast, even though Farrel is obviously the main sell / protagonist.

I wasn't that big of a fan of _The Batman_ but this show is on Max... HBO don't f__k around! I'm checking this out for sure!

It appears as if the director is taking The Penguin back to his roots in the Golden Age, when he was a crime kingpin in the Gotham City underworld.

When DC says it will be rated R or mature they actually mean it. Marvel not so much. This looks great.

I always feel a bit.. cheated when it comes to Marvel. More so these days than ever before

This is the kind of story that I don't think Disney or Lucasfilms can broach or even contemplate and what WB has a leg up on them for when it comes to storytelling. I don't need everything to be gritty and dark (in fact, I'm not a fan of the deconstruction of the Jedi and the narrative that their legacy is that of failure like they say in TLJ), but I like it where it's appropriate and Batman and the underworld of Gotham is a great place for it. I don't need the Penguin to be a complete psychopath/sociopath, but I also don't need him to have a softer side we explore during the course of the series. He is who he is and that's ok. (lol, just got to the part where Rocha addresses what I said about the darker, grittier storytelling)

Tim Burton’s interpretation of The Penguin lacked a real-world edge and sensibility to the character. This maxi-series resolves those criticisms, and makes The Penguin real, and more true to life. There will be more time to explore the depths of this character, both good and bad, and of his personal experiences that shaped him into the character he would become.

Is it just me. Or should the video be switched. I'd rather have you in the small vid. And the trailer big. But idk, maybe there is a reason. Regardless. Thanks for another video. Can't wait for this.
