Just saw it, 2021. Wow, what a beautiful film! I know you will go on to do amazing things. Much love.

In many respects this is an excellent film, but it also has many problems. The captive just dies? He seemed the more likely to survive, but unfortunately, he was in a film that needed to end. The less competent captor survives, though, and manages to dig a grave despite having no tools and his injured arm. I'd love to see a longer version with the same actors in the same or comparable situation with a more credible outcome. Thanks for sharing this on KZread.

This is almost a modern version of "A Separate Peace" by John Knowles! Brilliant!!!

It... It's really well scripted; contain all emotions, interesting story, and lots more I couldn't explain. This video was in my recommandation for a few times. I have no complaint about it; it's really worth watching.

I like this short 🎥 the acting was good and it was also sad!!

I enjoyed seeing how the prisoner's superior survival skills angered the captor, but what's the deal with the end? So the cause of death is supposed to be ambitious? I think you mean ambiguous. If the audience is left confused, the film failed at telling a story. Is the goal of the film to tell a story or to be a puzzle for few to solve?

I agree with you (and applaud your catching the ambitious/ambiguous goof). It had some promise with its contrasts, but it was as though the maker had more on his hands than he knew what to do with, so just gave it a cheesy, implausible ending and goodbye. So disappointing.

ZestyMango Thank you!! It’s supposed to be left relatively ambitious, but the idea is he either fell getting water and hit his head or drowned. He did not try to run away.

@@jackgifford2927 Hang on Jack , how can someone with the survival skills Mason had just fall over and hit his head. If he drowned he would be in the water. Taking your own life because freedom is a must is a more probable reason for why he sadly met his demise.

I applaud anyone who makes a film like this if they did their best--regardless of the outcome. Sometimes just doing it is laudable. But I don't get all the praise this film is getting in the comments. I'm not someone who needs everything tied up in a nice bow at the end, but this had TOO MUCH unanswered. And, honestly, not enough said. The biggest omission: How did he die in the end? One of the only two characters (50% of the cast) dies--and not a clue as to how or why? Too many ridiculous scenes in such a short film. 1) Starting a fire that way takes WAY longer, even for an experienced person. And someone without experience, shivering from the cold, ... forget it. 2) Once he gets the fire going, he has the luxury of ... staying away all night??? 3) He falls from the tree landing primarily on one foot, and breaks his ... arm? 4) At 6:29, there is burnt wood--with not a speck of ash on the ground beneath it. And that's just off the top of my head. Again, I don't mean to throw shade on it. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. But why all the praise? That I don't get.

At 1:29 there are houses in the background. Need to change the angle of the shot. But otherwise great effort.

Beautifully done! So much in only 9 minutes. Got a 1980's-ish apocalyptic aftermath kinda vibe. I'm sure its much more involved than my imagination could speculate. Actors were absolutely amazing, would love to see more of there work. Keeps your attention and draws you in wanting to know more of the plot and characters. Great camera work and loved the scenery. This clip would fit in quite nicely with a 45 or hour long movie. Oh heck, I'd love to even see a four part made for TV special! :-D Thank you for the great upload.

This makes no sense why did he die? How did he die? He was the guy with the bush craft skills. It makes no sense at all. There is just no logic to his death given he had the survival skills and was least likely to be the character that dies.

CAPTOR AND CAPTIVE The lad in handcuffs (white shirt) was the real captor, and the lad with the key to the handcuffs (black shirt) was the real captive. One interpretation is that White had a crush on Black and controlled him by being totally submissive. White ran away but never resisted or complained even when being beaten by Black. As White said to Black: If we want to survive and make it out, we are going to have to work together. During the night, White did not attempt to escape. White died inexplicably laying on the ground face down and butt up, maybe bitten by a venous snake. Their Black and White clothing symbolized Yin-Yang duality, and their mental, emotional and physical bonding represented Unity. Black probably could have saved White and himself if he had taken the path less traveled and responded favorably to White's homoaffective demeanor.

@@erasmus-ny8pl One of the things that caught my attention was the outfit worn by the lad in handcuffs: thin suspenders (braces) worn over a plain white, short-sleeve t-shirt and no belt on his trousers. In some areas, this outfit is worn by rent boys when they walk the streets cruising for customers as a subtle sign of their sexual availability. I have seen them dressed like this in real life in nice areas.

А где кино? где сюжет? где актерская игра? где достоверность движений? где диалоги? Ничего этого нет.
