In fairness, these are people who live in a world where violence and death is not an uncommon occurrence (in their profession as soldiers and adventurers, I mean. Most ordinary civilians would probably still be greatly disturbed by your confession.) Every single one of them has killed people, perhaps LOTS of people, and are thus somewhat desensitized to death and the regular bloodlust that comes with battle. Most of them, except for Minthara and especially Jaheira, do not truly understand what it is that afflicts you, like a deep, uncontrollable compulsion to do something that you know is not right, but you are powerless to stop.
Minthara is interesting in that shes often the mlst lucid and rational of the companions. Shes probably evil, but shes rational snd experienced, and is quick to understand both the danger of your Bhaalspawn nature and also encoiurages you to master it rather than the opposite.

One thing I like, and it's quite sad, about this is that it is a good reflection of mental health. If you change the dark urge for any mental illness or condition, depression, suicidal thoughts, schizoid, bipolar, borderline, ADHD, and so on, usually what also makes it hard to talk about is the fact that people won't take it seriously, regardless of how it is for you or those around you, and then when that condition shows its face, they are still surprised and hold it against the person.

To be fair, calling Jaheira blunt would mean that you think hammers cut, it is THAT much of an understatment. And for what I'm watching, years hadn't made her any less cutting with her remarks (pun not intended... at first, now I'm keeping it). That and she has experience with bhaalspawns, both good and bad. So you haven't "earned yet" the "mercy" of Death, unlike Sarevok, because you still aren't at that point. You may end as Gorion's ward, and earn instead the joy of Life. So to speak. Or you may end in between, a murder machine, but without control, unlike Sarevok. In that case, it would truly be merciful to kill your PC.

I don't blame the majority of them brushing it off because they literally *can't* understand what it is like to be Bhaalspawn. Only Jaheria knows because she is the companion of the Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 protagonist. She witnessed firsthand their own "dark urge" to hurt people when she saw the Slayer Form. But at least with Lae'zel, she at least offers some suggestions on how to calm the urge even though she doesn't understand the full nature of it. And Minthara is right to be weary due to her own people's experiences.
I am about to finish my playthrough as Dark Urge who resists the urge. Most of the companions do treat the urge as if it is a mildest thing. @@ifancyyourmotionsawaaah8489 ah got you, then yeah that isn't s easy decision.
So you are telling me Dark Urge is basically. "The Faerun Psycho" aka Not-Patrick Bateman.
Will Jaheira know even if you haven't killed anyone else and haven't turned slayer? Haven't reached that point myself yet. Technically this is spoilers for me xD
Later that day: I AM THE GREAT RAVENGER! Party: okay...now your going on deep end friend. Minthara: Fuck ya my dude *high fives*.
I just started play the game im 6 hours in, cleared the Goblin camp and i have no idea whats this dark urge is also you can recruit the drow leader? I just killed her to compleate the mission.

I think you can side with her to attack the grove
Too bad this dialogue has been borked for Minthara since Patch 5. I guess it's a small price to pay for the Potent Robe & Dammon's gear, but every Minthara line lost is a tragedy.
Something I read is that you can give the dark urge to any character you make but it looks like it's only for this white dragonborn guy or is that the default for him or her?

I've seen videos of other races with the dark urge. I think the dragon guy is just what naturally starts out with it. Speaking of the dragon guy, holy crap he looks so cool!
No Astarion reaction?

I couldn't seem to find any prompt for him. I checked back all through the game and nothing not sure if it was a bug or something.

I started dark urge and at the first long rest you have a restless sleep and next morning he’s all concerned and you can tell him all the murderous desires and thoughts in your head. He pretty much tells you to embrace the dark side and enjoy it . He was all excited about it too.
Is it possible to side with the tieflings when playing the Dark Urge?

You say to the person that they cannot join you, then they'll survive.@@usurpererenyeagar4587
why minthara kinda...
I don't like that no one is willing to be evil with you, it makes the dark urge gameplay extremely irritating. I went out of my way to get Minthara for an evil character and she reacts worse than all of them. I lost interest after that.
In short: nobody cares.
