The Kenway's got such a raw deal. Edward is the embodiment of the phrase "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". He lost himself attempting to provide for his family and in the process of finding himself he loses everyone he cared about. His grandson had no way to do the one thing that made being an Assassin in the first place and was one of the few to truly recognize how futile the war between the Assassins and Templars was.

And stealth-wise this game had the most refined mechanics compared to the older installments (Lurking arround corners, whistling and stuff) Especially with the refined ranged arms core mechanics (thrown smokebombs went where you wanted them to go and the blow darts were a nice addition). Edit: If by "bad parkour/stealth" you're refering towards the newer games (since origins) as in how they utilized stealth to their full potential, then yes. AC4's stealth mechanics don't even come close in comparison. BUT the parkour in 4 is undeniably more advanced, with it's reasons of course. The newer games simplefied parkour inorder to put more layers to the stealth - the player had a wider choice op approaches to enter a certain terrain. But the two have completely different focalpoints. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Saying an apple is bad, simply because an orange is sweeter just doesn't seem fair. An apple has it's other appeals, like it's crunchy texture. Gamers should stop with their pointless and irrational comparisons and just try to appreciate the games for their own unique features ;) (I personally love every single installment - yup, also Odyssey. Most people who complain about the game never even played it :p While at the surface the game looks different, when you dig deeper you'll find the same core philosphies the franchise is centered around. BuT HeY, a DLC leT's ThE ProtEgonIst gO tO heLl, So It BrEaKs CoNtInUitY... Even though it was clearly stated that it was nothing more than a simulation based on Greek mythology specifically disigned for the protegonist by an Isu, inorder to teach the protegonist a few lessons and enhance his wisdom. So, like the king Washington dlc which I LOVE, it didn't even happen technically speaking, yet the idiotic complain I stated a few lines up remains valid in the eyes a many...)

I got ALL chests Animus fragments and shantys(shantys best one by far), I even upgraded my ship all the way all three times, did the kenways fleet. Though have not done the Adewale dlc. I did all this just so I did not have to leave my friend. All in all i know this sounds super weird but I just love this game. P.S. is the Adewale dlc any good?

Fallout is the best for that, after hearing anything goes by cole porter. On fallout 3 as a kid i got really into not only the music from that era but the history behind all the references made in the songs. And then fallout new vegas introduced me to marty Robbins (i already like dean martin and some of the others before NV) and i ended up loving all his songs, (well, except for the few country songs he has, which i don't think he was that great at [might just be my bias of not liking country because he did make it into the country HoF] but he's hands down the best western singer/songwriter to ever pick up a guitar. He's such a great story teller too, listening to each song is like watching an entire epic movie in 5 minutes or less (a few are longer but you know what i mean)

@@shironeko5183 AC is a game about an ancient civilization who can transcend time, become ethereal, and you want to make a point about Desmond not being born? Desmond, who literally lives through memories of multiple people who existed before *he* was born. And when Desmond died, in the world of AC, does that not mean his spirit can also transcend time? Weak point and you missed the metaphor.

Those two lost almost everyone in a span of a few years, Edwards being forced to kill some of them and Anne lost her baby right after losing her friend. It just gets me every time that these two lost broken souls loved each other (platonically) and took care of each in their darkest times, later to part ways as friends. No assassins creed story has ever affected me so deeply.

Edward and Ah Tabai comes to rescue them right after Mary's birth to find Mary in a bad way and Anne pleading for the guards to help her. Ed helps them escape but Mary succumbs to infection before she makes it out. Replayed Black Flag recently and forgot how emotional this game was. Especially when you think how many people Kenway lost. Edward Thatch, his mentor, was killed in front of him. Charles Vane lost his mind and was found broken and forgotten in a cell. Jack Rackham, betrayed him and his crew, found lifeless in some cell. Burgess and Cockram, fellow sailors, forced to die by his hand achieve his goal. Benjamin Hornigold, his friend and fellow privateer, severed their relationship and pitted them against each other. Stede Bonnet, his most innocent of allies, lost his life on the path Kenway sent him on. James Kidd, to be revealed Mary Read and his closest friend, died in his arms unable to be saved. Anne Bonny, who would survive her wounds, but not without facing immense suffering and loss. Caroline Scott, loving wife and mother of there child, passed away before he showed her how he's changed. Adewale, quartermaster and advisor, gave up on him and left him behind to live his life his own way. Not to mention countless pirates and crewman he knew that would face the gallows from the approaching empires. The collapse of their safe haven in Nassau. And the near destruction of the Assassin's Brotherhood in the Caribbean because of his selfish deeds.

imagine finally having a group of friends to fill your loss and lose them in every blink of your eye... i felt bad for Kenway, and to all Assassins... all the sacrifices for the greater goods

I literally shed all the tears I could possibly could. At this moment. In the end. Where you see Kenway's friends, their journey, on the sea, travelling, plundering, stealing, it was really a very fun time.

The scene with all of the characters sitting around the table at the end never fails to move me. Seeing them all having a good time together reminds you of how well Hornigold and Thatch got on at the beginning, Bonnet's good intentions, Vane before he went mad. Very sad ending for Edward as everyone he got to know is gone

when I first heard this song I just paused the game and walked away, at the day of writing this comment I beat ac4 for the 4th time and this song was still able to bring me to tears and when I saw Edwards friends at that table I just, may God rest their souls, down among the dead.

I liked Anne, she was quite badass. She is nothing compared to Mary tho. I'd rather Anne die than Mary in that prison, but Marys death made Edward a better person. AH I WISH THEY HAD BABIES TOGETHER :c

Pyology X All of the Assassin's Creed games are based on real history. And in real history, Mary Reed died in prison just as she did in the game. No one knows exactly what happened to Anne Bonny, just that she wasn't executed (and probably got out somehow, either by bail or escape).

Sure the game is based on historical events, but not every single thing. If they didn't let Mary die, I don't think people would be like OH NO, BUT THAT DIDNT HAPPEN IN REALITY

What makes the use of “The Parting Glass” all the sweeter at the end of Black Flag is the historical accuracy. After it was written in 1788, Robert Burns’ “Auld Lang Syne” became a much more popular and well-known parting song, especially in the modern day, but before then it was “The Parting Glass” that occupied that spot by a country mile.

A close and dear friend of mine just sang this song to our whole school of 90 people, as a last goodbye the day before we part. He held the doors open every morning and said good morning, and he gave everything day inn and out, and barely got recognition for it. Tomorow we have a ceremony to recieve our diplomas, and lets just say his closest friends will be standing up and saying goodbye back, I made sure to arrange as much ❤
