I absolutely love this movie. There was no blood in it, very little to no CGI, very little jump scares; just old fashioned creepy imagery, psychological scares, a great plot line, great acting, and very atmospheric and dark. I loved how the premise of this ghost film was “flipped” for a change. This was a very refreshing ghost story. The twist ending SHOCKED me! I never saw it coming, unlike The Sixth Sense’s. Nicole Kidman was amazing as Grace! ❤️ 👻

when I started watching this film, I did not pay attention to the genre, I just started watching because of the high rating, and there was also a recommendation for films like six sense, I was alone at night and gradually the atmosphere of this film changed my state to concern, this is the scary film what I watched, the rest of the horrors and stupid scarecrows, I am not in the least afraid

This has to be one of the best horror movies I've ever seen!

3 words.... the sixth sense

I remember watching this movie on TV for the first time back when I was 12 years old in summer 2003. I had a few sleepless nights after it. The entire atmosphere in this movie fascinated and scared me at the same time. The ending with the plot twist shocked me a lot and made me think. The entire movie is such a masterpiece and it is still one of my favourite horror movies. It is a shame this film is so underrated.

Pretty much same exact timeline here! The scene with the old woman’s hand and her face behind the veil disturbed and intrigued me so much lol. I think no movie will ever compare to this one for me ❤

Quality horror movies mess with you mind, crappy horror movies throw cheap tricks like jump scares to scare you because the creators are not talented enough to come up with an actual scary story line. The Others IS scary, it makes you wonder, if ghosts exist, do they know they are dead, or do they think we are the ghosts?

Really? Is it REALLY that good for a horror movie?? Usually horror films are just ok or halfway decent, but wow a lot of people here in the comments say this movie is amazing... I guess I’ll have to check it out!! (BTW I had never heard of the movie before, only looked it up because I was watching the newly just released Unsolved Mysterys show Netflix revamped, and in one episode where a guy disappeared(and was found very suspiciously dead) he left a weird hidden note and happened to list a few of his favorite movies of all time(this one was on it!) so I had to check it out!!

A masterpiece. Nicole Kidman should have gotten the Oscar for her excellent performance.

This film was such a masterclass when it comes to a true horror films, horror is more than some gore and jump scares, real horror leaves you thinking, it disturbs you. The ending was so unexpecting. I actually invited some friends over to see this film; about 8 people, we started this film blindly just because I love Alejandro Amenabar 's film choices & I can blindly go and see Nicole Kidman's films, almost every film she stars in is unique, not a big fan of horror though but after the film ended, all my average brain/pretentious friends said they didn't enjoy it, but a friend and I just sat there, listening to the end credits soundtrack and smiling on how tragic and truly disturbing this film was. If you love dark films like Donnie Darko, Nocturnal Animals - you'll love this one.

The best plot twist ever! Has everything from plot twists, mystery, backstory, and jumpscares!

Nicole kidman was brilliant on this!

I watched this movie 100 times and each time I cry at the end.. such a great movie. The acting the decorations the music, everything takes you to a different world.

One of my all time favourite horror movies. The setting, the overall atmosphere, the 'father is fighting in the war, but he'll be back' idea.. it's so chilling

Please don't reveal the climax here. Let the people watch the entire movie and enjoy .

This film was imprinted deep in my brain when I was a kid and I first saw it in the theatre with my friends, we were 12. Since then and whenever I get the chance I watch it again. This isnt any other horror film, this is "The Horror Film". The cast, the filming locations, the music, the dark and timeless atmosphere, the direction, the performances, and the final and blasting plot twist, this film is perfect in so many ways. They no longer do them like this. A classic that should be preserved for generations, art cinema.

This movie is one of the greatest horror movie of all the time. The ending is surprisingly and with no doubt. Many plot twists are so good. Nicole Kidman performance really outstanding. Love her

Am I the only one who doesn't feel scared or anything after watching this? I just feel empty and sad and left with alot of questions... A really beautiful movie that shows us that everything isn't always as it seems. I hope that death is like in this movie, that we stay with our loved ones at our most wonderful time of our life and just live our lives as we have no clue to what has happened. A great masterpiece and beautiful troughout the movie!

Its a psychological thriller more than a true horror in my opinion. It makes you think about the true horrors that exist in reality. Ghosts and demons are simply metaphors that humans have created to express their horrific reality.

Invasive sadness and emptiness.

Movies like this are now we dont have.. One of the best movie in the era.

I remember seeing this movie when I was a child, on Christmas Eve I saw it again with my teenage brother and it still gives me chills, but now I was able to better appreciate the story, the characters and the delivery of Nicole, such a great artist. And an excellent film.

I really, really love this movie so much. It impresses me a lot.

This film is so moving, even if you're not usually "into horror", don't let that stop you watching it. The idea that they'll share their house for eternity, while strangers come and go, hauntingly beautiful stuff..

Pure acting, all so natural. Great story, from the beginning until the end. 10/10 .

This is a must see if you love thrillers. Good story, subtle visuals and beautiful acting. No jump scares needed if you have those.

When dealing with depression, dont hesitate to call the your local institute of mental health. Medicine may get expensive but when you cant afford it, you may get loan from your local bank. It is critical that you and your loved ones do not suffer under any circumstances that you may regret later in your life

"The Others"(2001) is an excellent Ghost mystery horror movie!The twist at the end of the movie was very clever and creepy!

One of the absolute finest pieces of cinematic art I've had the pleasure to watch

Just watched this movie, it will be forever one of my favorites!

Nicole Kidman’s performance here is sublime. 2001 was a great year for her with this movie and Moulin Rouge.

The Others is definitely one of the best horror movies I've ever watched, if not the best of them. I highly recommend it!

I saw this when I was little by accident. Given that I have actively avoided seeing horror movies my entire life, I still could not name one bad thing about this film although it scared the living mess out of me. I don't remember most of the details but I do remember the plot, and it is such a good one.

One word to describe the movie "Brilliant". I loved all the characters in the movie and the end was shocking... I was so attached to the boy Nicholas just loved his character, so good...

This movie was so well done, I was so impressed with the story.

Great acting. I think I never emphasized a main character as in this movie. Kidman was playing perfectly

The kind of movie people need to watch.... Last ending was so unexpected... No one no one ever can think of twist.... Never

10/10 from me. Didn't guess even a single moment what was going to happen next. A movie worth watching!

Great movie, definitely in the top ten of my all time favorite films.

The writer and director Alejandro did a great job his way to direct and screenplay is brilliant

The twist is very good. The director did an excellent job of dropping several clues throughout the film but ones that weren’t obvious enough for the viewer to put together

Thinking of the twist in this movie and realizing that concept has not been done much! I can think of only one other movie! When you really think about it, it’s amazing and it’s thought provoking.

I’m a Jumpscares fanboy but damn this movie is a true masterpiece with no jumpscares hats off to everyone involved in this classic .

My mom took me and my brothers to see this movie in theaters. I was 10 at the time, and my brothers were 8 and 5. I think this was my first horror movie.

Honestly probably the scariest movie I've ever seen. That's saying a lot, I have seen many many horror movies and it's my favorite genre. I saw this movie in my early twenties and it forever stands out in my mind as one of the scariest, creepiest films I've ever seen. Just thinking about this movie is enough to give me goosebumps on my arms.

Best plot twist ever

I just watched this movie yesterday with my parents. Well, i haven't seen that much horror movies, but this is definitely the best one i've seen so far. And the twist in the end was just amazing, i wasn't excepting it to end like that.

Kinda knew the story of this movie, but only really watched it this week at Netflix. It's a really good movie, great atmosphere, amazing acting and it's 20 years old! Don't know how I missed it in 2001 because i was going to the cinema 2x or 3x a week.

What an amazing film, I must watch it again now that I'm older. Amazing the way they blurred the supernatural into a terrible, horrific reality.
