The Other Side of the Ridge: Exploring a Wild Lake Loaded with Pike, Bass, and One Big Bluegill

High points of land intrigue me. Much like my last video, I found myself compelled to explore a new (to me) lake tucked between high ridges. Unlike that last video, however, I did a lot of fishing this time. Many small pike and bass were caught and released along with my first Master Angler bluegill. The fishing was fun and the views were even better.

    If they were northern strain muskies stocked in the 90s, there’s a good chance they naturally reproduced. Most of our lakes up here stocked with northern strain have great reproduction. Btw, all the bass were largemouths, smaller juveniles under 12” tend to have smaller mouths. I liked the video! Very cool lake, love the hard to get to ones.

    I wasn't sure on those bass, they didn't really seem like smallmouths either!

    @northernwaters yeah I can definitely see the confusion! Especially since that dark lateral marking was very light on these guys.
