The Other Plumber Was Unable to Clear These Bathtubs.

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I went to an apartment building that had 2 bathtubs backing up in 2 units. They were back-to-back. They had another plumber come out, and because they're back-to-back, he was unable to clear them. As you can see in the video, I run the water in the bathroom sink and realize the water's coming up. The bathtub at that point I realized I could snake the bathroom sink to clear the blockage. I removed the P trap from the one unit under the bathroom sink and began to use my Milwaukee M12 drain snake with drophead. I had to be careful that I did not bust through next door's trap under their bathroom sink once I knew I got it to go down. I continue to snake and clear the blockage. We then watched the water drained from the bathtub. It was a little slow because it was 2 bathtubs, half. Full of water that had to get drained out.

I often wonder when these architects were drawing their plans that this would be a great problem when they have back to back plumbing when this problem happened.Usually I have to cut the wall behind one of the drain affected and go straight down and then have the maintenance guy repair the drywall.Great job Jay

I know that a shared drain is common in this kind of construction but wow, having your "dirt" *and* your neighbor's "dirt" backing up into your tub is 🤢. I hope they clean it up very well. Great job man.

  • @Jaythatdrainguy

@Will-ll4gv The fifty foot cable is good, but you need to understand that's a lot more cable in the barrel and it can kink up a lot easier But it's good for longer distances like I know in ontario We have a lot of apartments that are over 10 stories and they have a Main. And an auxiliary pipe 4 kitchen lines and that can help you out in getting further down to the main and bypassing the auxiliary if that makes sense. Whereabouts, are you a landlord?.

Honestly, John. I think most people don't realize that plumbers. And drain technicians, 2 completely different things. There's plumbers that snake drains, but they will never snake as many drains as a drain. Technician, if you do the math, 4 jobs a day for 6 days a week and? Sixteen years That's close to 20000 drains. Snaked, ask a plumber how many drains stay snake? Maybe one a day at most they're. More concerned about plumbing and getting the water back on And a lot of them don't know how to work the cable properly. But that's where experience comes in. I guess thanks for watching brother. Have a great day.

I work in a police/jail department. If I can’t get the clog I always call the drain guys and not plumber. Especially if in jail cause I know it’s going to be a bag of trash or a uniform that made it to downstairs and in middle of hallway. Drain guys have more expertise in complicated lines.

@@Jaythatdrainguy I just got back to Alberta after visiting a friend a few hours north of Toronto. It rained almost every day but everything was so lush and green. It was beautiful! Flying over Alberta was extremely shocking to see how low all of the waterways are here. Like it was shockingly gross. A lot of smaller rivers had completely dried up and I could see where the water line should've been vs where it actually is in all of the lakes, rivers, ponds, etc. It was very jarring. I miss the beautiful lush greenery and full lakes and rivers of Ontario! I love Alberta but we are in a severe drought. It's scary
