Great video. Nick Page has a really good way of applying it. Basically to a “lights 1” luminosity mask and then taking it into ACR to add saturation and contrast. Therefore adding a warm glow to the highlights but not the dark shadows.

Thanks Anthony; this might just be the easiest way to apply the Orton Effect I’ve seen! Nick Page has described a different method using luminosity masks, and I think it was Mark Denny who did a recent video showing how to apply the Orton Effect in Lightroom.

Can you put these steps in a PS Preset? An Orton Effect preset.....

How many ways are there to add the orton effect ? However, I really do like this one and will make an action/macro(affinity) right now . Thank you 3:40 --- can't let it slip past ---- far easier in Affinity Photo 😇🤫 Blur strength : it was suggest to me recently to use the camera MB size (??) I go stronger then set opacity to 50% --- easier to adjust add/down I was surprised you didn't/don't add a mask or even masks to the first two images .
