He reminds me somewhat of the Red Hood aka Jason Todd from DC comics which is part of the reason I like him so much. They are both bad*sses, both have a love/hate relationship with their respective adoptive fathers, ultimately had their lives ruined by said adoptive fathers, both had their butts whooped by their fathers, and devoted a lot of time to getting revenge on their fathers. olts yo yeah that's what I'm afraid of, this season only has 13 episodes. so the story line goes much faster, and there are too many interesting characters to fill one episode. Elijah, Klaus, Hayley, Freya, Marcel, Vincent and Hope are the main characters so the focus is more based on them. Such a shame because Kol never really had a regular role as original vampire. People in USA need to watch the show, otherwise there is no season five.

It's funny that kol have been always jealous of marcel since marcel was a kid because he want his brothers only for him, and now that both are angry with each other, both share the love of davina

Yeah Kol it's hard for him to accept that Marcel is family, he is jalous because Klaus care about Marcel as much taht he cares for him, maybe even more. well marcel mayb the second upgraded original hybrid, but he aint got nothing on hope. she's the original tribrid! born werewolf/witch, raised as a witch, bc she hasnt killed a human yet to trigger her wolf curse, bc she's 7y/o but still could at her age. but we've already witnessed she's more witch due to been a firstborn generation after dahlia, then freya, on esther's side of hope's paternal grandmother family side. yet, hope could make hybrids of her own, let alone hayley been her mother and only sire we know of, hell. hope could sire hybrids of wolf/vamps or maybe even wolf/witches, which i would love to see. hope is the most powerful character than all the OGs. she might be having those nightmares like all the kids are, but still she doesn't understand what's happening to her. bc i bet, hayley hasn't taught hope how to control her magic yet, last time she was a baby. she had magic before she could walk&talk :)

Well to be fair, the Michealson's did tell him that he was one of them. Klaus was basically his mentor and his father. At the end of the day, Marcel was second class. Don't forget Freya killed Davina, but I think she deserves to die. Why? She is stupid enough to revive Kol after falling in love with him after 3 episodes. That was a dumb storyline. Look what happened his family used her and killed her. If you think about it Marcel has saved Hope from the witches when she was almost going to be stabbed with a knife. He saved Klaus from being stabbed with the white Oak from Daliah. Then a get his heart taken out and everyone ok with Elijah for it. Really? That family is messed up. They deserve every torture they get as they cause harm to so many people.

Exactly! They did treat Marcel like family (a big part of the reason Kol resents Marcel so much) but not truly like a part of the family and technically Klaus isn't a Mikaelson. Mikael was not his father. He despised Klaus from the time he was a child.

I loved Rebekah and Kol’s relationship. Marcel took a step towards Kol and Rebekah stepped in front of him. If Marcel wanted Kol he would have to kill her and she knew he wouldn’t.

When Marcel said that he was proud he wasn’t a Mikaelson you could see in Klous eyes the heartbreak.

camille Lloyd it wasn't peaceful before the mikaelsons showed up. Marcel had it peaceful for his followers and the witches and wolves lived in fear. Marcel is no different than klaus. Had marcel lived for a thousand years he probably wouldn't have hurt as many ppl as klaus but he sure would've hurt a huge amount of ppl. The only difference is they'd all probably be witches and wolves and not immortal ppl who can hold a grudge. This season they seem to have somewhat more of peace between them but if it wasn't for the mikaelsons showing up marcel was as much a tyrant as the mikaelsons. Not to mention marcel being merciful is no different from how merciful klaus has been to marcel. He could've killed marcel anytime he betrayed him but didn't. Because klaus did think of marcel as a son. The mikaelsons are bad don't get me wrong but marcel isn't much different with how he was. This season he may be doing things more peaceful but so is klaus so he's not much any different from him whether he thinks it or not.

camille Lloyd I've watched that something is up with hope even without them there. And I do agree that the mikaelsons are bad but marcel is no good guy. He was a tyrant in the first season before they showed up and that's a fact and had he had 1,000 years like that there is no telling how many ppl he would've hurt and killed as well. It's a show where if you don't take any sides you can see almost all of them are bad. Klaus is bad but so is marcel. He is a lot like the mikaelsons whether ppl want to admit it or not

For Kol to say that Marcel ain't a Mikaelson. The mere fact that Marcel saved his niece from death as a baby when his niece was literally a hair line a way from being sacrifice and still technically saved her and her mother especially her mother when she was a baby deserves the Medal of Honor for his bravery. Marcellus character development had been outstanding throughout the series. I remember when Camille looked at him puzzled when he offered that Indian female vampire woman blood and he didn't take it for himself and be selfish.

Marcel has the first kill on this entire series when he executed Jane anne Deveraux for practicing magic , cursing an entire pack of wolves bc he was annoyed with them also banning them in the quarter, these things that he did is what makes him a hyporcrite and self righteous for saying he beat them w/out turning into them🤷🏽‍♀️ he done things the way Mikaelsons would do all through out the earlier seasons. @@prp3778 The only thing that makes them different is their age and power. When Klays got his powers, he was a frightened rabit running away from his scary daddy. He needed like 2 thousands of years to finally get his wolf back and after all these years he finally killed his father. While Marcel is pretty much the same, but he wasn't running from his dad most of his life, hell he's alive just because of Klaus. And when Marcel got his powers, he almost blindly wanted to kill every vampire there is except Klaus vampires just to get his little revenge. Klaus did bad things to survive, to finally get his freedom, while Marcel did it all just because he was angry. Marcel is much worse than Klaus ever was. At least Klaus was born a viking or whatever and been turned into a vampire without asking. Marcel asked for it, already educated and free of any anger, with a family that gave him everything. And yet he betrays Rebekah once, declares Klaus a war, tries to kill them all etc etc etc. The only sane original there was is Alaric. He didn't snap into a maniac because of his bloodthirst, he even remained more human than most people are. Because he wasn't a viking or an angry kid like Marcel.

This scene was breathtaking; Klaus and Marcel's peace negotiation was perfectly acted by both Joseph and Charles, but is it just me who wonders every time when Marcel talks in that moment that the little boy he used to be more than a hundred years ago is still in there saying the same thing and feeling the same emotions as he is now.

Kol is talking like he wasnt jealous of Marcel & wasn’t given a lecture by klaus to stop complaining ab not feeling about part of the family.

Marcel letting them go goes to show that he has such a good heart the only reason he killed them was bc freya and Elijah decided to sacrifice davina despite knowing what she meant to marcel

I'm just going to go ahead and say it. The originals are cruel, manipulative, bloodthirsty, and have no regard for the life of anyone that isn't a Mikaelson, a lover/friend, or anyone essential to one of their plans, and a lot of the time, the problems they encounter are of their own making or are the result of what essentially boils down to family drama. In short, its generally agreed that they are horrible people, but I love how they always choose to stick together in the end. Even after over a 1000 years. Most people would have probably went their separate ways after so long and after everything they put each other through (especially Klaus' treatment of his siblings), but they stick together anyways. Always and Forever. And if there is one thing I can respect them for, its their dedication to family, and their willingness to do anything, commit any atrocity, for each other.

I don’t agree completely, I think anyone who would choose a random stranger over your family is a bad person. If someone I don’t know kills me for someone he loved I would have more respect for him than when he chooses me over his family. You know why? Because it proves your humanity. The originals aren’t ment to be the best or pure characters. They are the most real and the most human. They embody experience and built up mental traumas. Suffering of life and life itself. If you choose objectively in a personal choice, that’s not “good”. And for many of us they are relatable, I lived a very extreme world with extreme people around me and a lot of ultimatums. See what that does to a person. I lost a lot of people in my life and if I would have cared for every last one of them I would be dead right now. If they did the same for a thousand years they would be far far far more broken then you see them now. And if you have gone through hell, it starts to become hard to feel empathy sometimes. After I lost my mother, do you think I still felt bad for people who lost their pet? I wish I could but I just didn’t. It felt like such a minor thing now.

Vampires killing, robbing, stealing, torturing there was no end to their destruction. They did these things for fun, food, shelter. For them feeling compassion, remorse, or empathy was foreign. I like Klaus's explanation to their "over hyped senses" was because of their long lives. They forget how to feel, so in order for that not to happen vampires feel more deeply than humans. I guess it another one of nature's loopholes.

Klaus is the master of persuasion. And the charm that comes with his persuasion is unmatchable.

Klaus has this way of talking and carrying himself and i so much love it

He wouldn’t though in season 5 some random witch took him down snapped his neck with magic if the others can hold him off so freya can channel enough magic then boom they win easy and now they even have a cure for its no longer a killing bite they could win had marcel chosen to fight but the didn’t want underplay him but they eventually show how as family they can beat anything even Lucien who was stronger than marcel and was immune to magic couldn’t beat the original family

Marcel was a hypocrite and a coward. The only people who stood by him when he didn't have nothing. Is the people he made his enemy. Klaus never did Marcel any harm. Davina was bent in making Klaus her enemy. Klaus let her go because of his brother and Marcel. Marcel can eat rocks

yes it is the spin off. Their story starts in Season 4 ep 18 of the vampire diaries where Katherine sends them off to New Orleans. Stefan, Tyler, Caroline and even Elena's doppelgänger Tatia makes an appearance in the Originals.
