tbh from the one below i think this what if would be interesting What if Krillin wished to become a Sayain or the type cf body and zenki boost of a sayain to help im become at least as strong as Goku following the Frieza arc? (but because he doesnt want to fall behind his childhood rival and best friend anymore) (or you could have goku wish it for all the human z fighter friends because of trunks telling about the 18 and 17 but have goku not tell the human about the wish)

What about Vanilla Ice?

I always loved how Trunks didn't mess around the way Goku and Vegeta would. He's seen the devastation that can occur when evil isn't stopped. I think it's why he's popular. He wouldn't fit as a permanent cast member, but he's much more of a classic hero. He's looking to stop evil, not feed his ego.

This is why Toriyama should bring Cooler into Super's continuity to flesh out Freeza and his background more. This can also give him things to do asides shake his fist at Goku and Vegeta.

I believe some clue of Frieza's race origin lays in Frieza fighting style. There's was a particular scene on Namek when Frieza used his 50 % on Goku. He started his assault by hitting Goku with his elbow and afterwards he moved away crawling on his hands and legs like a lizard or a monkey.

King Cold is so underused, not to mention other questions pop up as well? Was it a monarchy as we see it? If so, then who was next in line and took over after they both died? Did the Galactic empire fall apart simply due to uprisings as stated in the movie, or was their infighting and civil war? Did any planet remain loyal like freeza's homeworld or the planets that have been subjugated the longest?

I had heard early on that the Freeza Clan were mutated versions of a hybrid race of aliens which ended up barely resembling their progenitors.

Yeah because bobidi had dabura, yakon, and pui pui who were all much stronger then a lot of friezas elite soldiers and it’s implied bobidi had more warriors ready to fight goku, vegeta, and gohan and bobidi has been around for millions of years right? So I think that king Cold would have had to come across bobidi at some point and would have learned about majin Buu from him and would have probably heard about dabura because he was a warlord before bobidi hypnotized him plus if king Cold knew about beerus it’s likely that he knew about the supreme Kais therefore realizing the gravity of majin Buus power being able to kill 4/5 supreme kais

TheMightySwooj Spoilers for the Super Broly movie: Broly, without his tail, is able to tap into the power of his Great Ape form without actually changing into ape form. I believe this is a similar precursor to Universe 6 saiyans; they evolved to tap into Great Ape strength without tails, thus why the saiyans in U6 were so strong in their base forms even before learning of the Super Saiyan form. However the U6 saiyans had decades to refine and train with it, thus its a natural trait of U6 saiyans rather then a unique trait as shown with Broly. Another similarity is that Broly and the U6 saiyans never became Super Saiyans on their own as the strength of their great ape enhanced base forms was more than enough to handle threats to themselves. That's my theory though.

It would be cool if there was a freeza origin story or freeza race story.

I was actually trying to give Frieza's race a different name rather than what others called them "Arcosians" or whatever. Or like how Cell called the patroller if he's facing against a Frieza Race "frost demons" in English. I know for the fact that their names are based on something that is frigid like Frieza, Cold, Cooler, Chilled and Frost. So let's come up with a name for their race based on a pun. Saiyans, or Saiya-jin, are based on vegetables from the Japanese yasai. Tuffles, or Tsufuru-jin, are based on fruits from their pronunciation. And it should refer to them as a "cold person" for Frieza's clan. I thought of a name originally "Tsumetai-jin" for a literal term, though I've noticed that their names are anagrams, of which a word was rearranged. I'm thinking of, as a hypothetical name, "Taimetsu-jin". Just spitballing here and there. What would you call them?

Their name is based on the word freezer as in a refrigerator because as Toriyama said “the saiyans are the vegetables and the freeza force are the fruit, he controls them all” that is the sole reason for the naming of Frieza and the others.

Hey Masako its more likely that Freeza's race reproduces asexually and while this means there is no need for a mother figure it also means that there is very little genetic diversity which is why they call Freeza a mutant and why humans don't call people with blue eyes mutants because to Freeza's race his mutations are extremely abnormal because they don't happen very often at all

@@MattManDX1 No Broly would be a mutant, Goku would be a runt. He definitely worked for that power, but his genetic makeup had no potential for him within the typical Saiyan lifestyle. Look at Vegeta (higher PL), Prince of all but wasn't too much stronger than Nappa (average PL) at the time of the saiyan saga. Vegeta would never be considered a mutant, but he had royal bloodline; where as Raditz (low PL) supposedly trained with Vegeta a bit, but def lacked power. Goku's bloodline really is a low class one; not much potential. Basically I'm saying just because they're strong for a race doesn't mean mutants, because a mutation refers to genetics, and there's only one saiyan who comes to mind when you think natural power vs something thats been truly earned the hard way.

Nappa was certainly not "average" for a saiyan, he was well above average, and Vegeta was WAY stronger than Nappa. Nappa's power level was either 4k or 5k depending on source, while Vegeta's power level was 18k when he first came to earth, making him ~3.5 or 4.5 times stronger than Nappa. Nappa was the saiyan general, which means he was probably one of the strongest saiyans (outside the royal family) before their planet went kaboom. Raditz was probably closer to "average" for saiyans. Sure Nappa and Vegeta regarded him as a weakling, but again that's because they were elitists, so "average" was "weak" to them.

Kinda interesting. Never thought about the cloning, or failed experiments, or the name passing on thing, but kinda interesting nonetheless. Funny how you chose not to mention Freiza's ancestor Chilled from the episode of Bardock, but I can understand why you wouldn't. Personally I just kinda wonder how powerful a being like Cell could be if they only had cells from Freiza, Cold, and Cooler (possibly, Chilled and Frost now), which would kinda be the same thing as your cloning discussion, so it's an interesting thought. As for the age, I do believe it's consistent with the series to say that they definitely live a whole lot longer than most people, but not millions of years. What I think is a more likely "source" of the knowledge of Buu and Beerus is Lord Zuno. Cold has access to all kinds of resources, including space flight, and an Empire spanning many systems, so he likely would have heard of Lord Zuno somewhere. All Cold would have had to do is ask 1 question: "Who in the Universe can defeat me?" to get the answers of Buu and Beerus. This would have lead to the warning without messy assumptions about how old King Cold would have to be, or passing information along for generations.

What if Broly was sent to earth on accident, and Goku was sent to Vampa with Bardock?

But Masako! King Cold and Frieza were drawn and conceived of before Star Wars Episode 1 (1999), and the only mention of cloning in Star Wars up to the point of King Cold’s creation was a couple of lines in Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), specifically one wherein Princess Leia’s message mentions Obi-Wan’s service to the Republic during the Clone War and another when Obi-Wan tells Luke how he met Luke’s father. I’m not saying that the cloning theory is impossible, just that it’s impossible that Star Wars is the inspiration for it... unless of course Toriyama had absolutely nothing in regards to their backstory when he invented these characters and retconned this in after watching Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. This is a very good point. There was never any indication Boba Fett was a clone at that point. In fact, the general assumption was that the Jedi fought AGAINST clones since you don't usually name a war based on who's fighting on your side. At best, you use both sides (e.g. Spanish-American War).

Replace Freeza race with Space Pirates and you pretty much sum up how I think the Space Pirates of Metroid work. Only rather then seeking to make a perfect they just make armies to raid space and be targets for Samus to shoot. King Cold's one of those bad guys, who I really wish had gotten more fleshed out. I remember being really underwhelmed by him as a kid, because of how easily Future Trunks dispatched him and Freiza. Then again I'm glad Trunks did dispatch Freiza so quickly, cause that cyborg design was really inelegant and patchwork looking. Anyway I feel like King Cold should definitely be expanded upon and they should definitely bring back Cooler. I'd watch a Cooler movie, I'm already going to see the Broly movie once it's out here in the UK. Maybe Cooler could have been the Freiza forces failed attempt to create a ruler like King Cold and Freiza? During the time between Freiza's second death and revival?

What if the race's name is Freiza, and when Freiza was "born" he decided thay HE was the pinnacle of their race, and so chose that as his name: to him he IS their race, and anyone who wants to say otherwise, well... Hence, after he was born, it went from Freiza to Freiza's Race.

I like to imagine that when a Freeza Race’s tail is cut off and left in the ground, a new member of the race sprouts up

While it was really cool (no pun intended) to see King Cold in the Broly movie (along with Dodoria, Zarbon and the Ginyu Force making cameos, I feel the nature of Frieza's race should be kept ambiguous because I feel like it just adds to the appeal of who Frieza is and why he's such a cruel monster, because it could easily potentially ruin the character. It's sort of the same thing with Yoda from Star Wars, whose species and background are still unknown to this day.

Eh, I'll stop calling Freezia's race Arcosian when Toriyama bothers to give them a better name.

I'm pretty sure there was an interview a couple of years ago where Toriyama said that King Cold didn't have transformations and that was a mutation unique to Frieza.

Can we get a What If Bardock Was Sent to the Future?

With all this late ice and snow, it's so Cold that it's like a Friezer outside! However, we can stay warm inside and watch more Masako. And compared to being outside, that's Cooler!

Wouldn't it be interesting if it was Majin Buu was the one who originally wrecked the Frieza clan's home planet/way of life and that's why they had to resort to cloning and less natural ways of continuing on? Maybe that's how the Saiyans got the tech and idea for Saiyan Baby vats, explains the "lack of genetic diversity among the low class warriors" as Turles put it, and adds a little more rhyme in how the Freiza clan would wreck the Saiyan's planet/way of life.

For all we know, Recoome is an average looking member of Frieza’s race, with Frieza and King Cold being mutants.

I hope they decide to make Cooler canon as a way to explore the origins of the Frieza race who I still refer to as Frost Demons.

So recently me and my friends have had a Dragon Ball Dungeons and Dragons campaign, before we started we of course we had to make our characters and I being a massive fan of Freeza and his family chose to be, as we call them in the D&D, a Frost Demon. My friend the Dungeon Master had a little trouble deciding on what to do for the Frost Demons in terms of reproduction and more. Before I fully finished my character the DM decided that Frost Demons reproduced asexually, like the theory dictates. The reproduction process happens when a Frost Demon in their final (natural) form reaches into the little chest crystal and pulls out an infant Frost Demon no larger than a gummy bear. The reason why there aren't a lot of Frost Demons in the D&D is because as children they are very prone to disease thus they must be kept in a healing pod until they reach the age of eight years old. That was just our fan made way of how Freeza and my character, Rime, as well as all the other Frost Demons came to be.

@@TheMasterVictory Oh? Um.. well I can't really spill the WHOLE campaign but I can give some more information on Rime. Rime is a cyan colored Frost Demon and for the longest of time lived and trained with King Cold unaware of who he was or where he came from. He was given basic information on the universe and about Freeza and Cooler. Rime never really listened to the stories about Freeza but Cooler on the other hand was in a way Rime's role model. After years and years of living with Cold Rime finally decided to understand who he was and where he came from however, Cold refused to tell him. That was when Rime ran away and stole a spaceship. Another long story short Rime learned that Freeza was his father and Cooler his uncle! After that he basically spent most of his free time trying to teach Cold, Cooler and Freeza to be good, it really only truly worked on Cold and Cooler. He's still working Freeza however.

Maybe there was a smaller Majin Buu incident more recently where for some reason Buu was released and then resealed before much damage could be done, and thats how Freezer and Cold know about Buu. Maybe King Cold kept contact with both Beerus and the Supreme Kai, who warned them about Majin Buu, just in case Buu awakes in Freeza's empire

Butt Masako, it isn't a Tuesday! Speaking of butts or rather what resides upon them, do you think our favorite Saiyans would be even more powerful with super saiyan and godhood power ups if they retained their tails. GT explored it a bit butt (hehe) GT is pretty much an alternate timeline / the timeline no one wants to invite out to parties. I've nothing against "Dan Dan Kokoro" though, that sh*ts amazing and the best thing from GT. better than super saiyan 4 or that cross dressing manly hunk o' Trunks.

What if Buu is a legend to some races, king cold just found out it was true. #speculation

What if it was just bad writing? I mean, think about it, Beerus certainly didn't know what the heck a Majin Buu was or he would've made Buu turn stuff into candy.

@@InfernosReaper Perhaps, but it is far more fun to create headcanon ideas to make reasons as to why things happen and are said, than to just say the writing was shoddy.

@Masako THANK YOU I'm so happy you finally covered this. It's unlikely though King Cold was told about Buu from a father figure. The simple fact that IF King Cold had a father (and he was mutated later, instead of being a test tube experiment or something) this father couldn't be a great ruler or anything there'd be no reason to have this knowledge passed down of a super power being. It really is far more likely that Beerus told him like you first suggested, or simply that given he had an entire universal armada that was implied to be more successful than Frieza's - information gathering could have just worked and he heard the legends. He's smarter than Frieza he would actually read up on stuff in the universe to be wary of what he needed to be, especially if he ran into Beerus. But we gotta stop with the family line idea. It just doesn't work for them there needs to not be a Frieza line, just Cold and him. Toriyama also explicitly stated that no one exists with their power or cruelty. So there is specifically not any more super evil super powerful ones. Like, your Cooler idea of a failed clone would be cool (and actually give the character some flaw to make him interesting), but that still doesn't make 5th form make sense and namely if he existed he'd have to be really weak he couldn't have unnatural power like Frieza. I mean it could be rewritten that Frieza's next step (since he gave up on immortality for good reason) is to find progeny for himself like his father did and try to have a clone made of himself and Cooler were Frieza's son or some weird nonsense, so that technically when Toriyama made that statement there wasn't but now one was created. OR he was born really weak and only just now finished training over decades (a sort of opposite of Frieza's huge potential), though then he wouldn't have forms if he was weak. Honestly though the bringing non canon into canon thing needs to not become a trend, it needs to just be the special thing that happened one time and then move onto new ideas from Toriyama. Like you said, the rest of the race wouldn't have the forms. That's only logical because they don't have the power and the forms were explicitly a response to cap that uncontrolled power. It makes the whole idea of a race and Frieza and Cold's characters so much more natural to the universe and so much more interesting than the crappy idea that they are everywhere. I just wish in those aforementioned games they would treat the frieza race as such and not super powerful, same for the rest of the oc characters to be honest. The Frieza race would be such a cool thing if they were in Online, because Online was logical and took things back in power scale. Everything starts out around basic ass Namekian level. Like not even as strong as Nail your Namekians are basic, and human/saiyans (since in online they are just earthlings with Saiyan dna) only got up to about Namek level. Majin's specifically got WEAKER until they were at that level too and everything feels natural. The Frieza race would fit perfectly here, as a basic race where Cold mutated from instead of how Xenoverse treats them (and all the races) as 'omg you're just like Frieza and you're super strong and you're the greatest character' let some characters be weak, jeez. My point being that's what the actual Frieza race would be like and just I'm glad a bigger youtuber finally said it so maybe the good information can be spread around and we can end the bad super strong evil Frieza race idea. Been saying this for years glad it could finally get out there, now maybe people will start using their heads on this concept. Our Frieza race characters need to be not clones, they need to be the actual, weaker Frieza race people to show the contrast between them and Frieza, not a new concept that tries to do that but instead gives us no real insight into their natural past but instead this new clone one that wouldn't really match up with their past.

Yes, I know, you already made the joke about it not being a What If and all that... but what if we connected your theories? What if Freiza and King Cold ARE mutations, and were bred/grown by a race who learned about and feared the return of Majin Buu... like, say they were in contact with Babadi as he was trying to learn the location of the Buu-pod. What if they created King Cold as a means of trying to genetically engineer a super soldier and protector for their planet, but he turned rogue and destroyed them all instead. Maybe he got a taste for being evil and just ran with it. The mutant, known as Cold, learned about Buu from his "fathers" (ie, the scientists and rulers who created him), destroyed everything around him and then declared himself "King Cold" after taking over the planet, and then decided to "birth" Freiza and Cooler as allies to help him keep control, and as a way of moreso insuring his chances against Buu should he ever return. After a few years, they decided to expand into an empire, thinking that Buu was just a rumour/myth after all. King Cold, seeing his "son" being so much more evil than he was, hands reign over to Freiza. And then it all plays out as we know.

This is what I think, Toyiami said King Cold was a mutant born with adnormally strong power so when he was young he must of used his great power to conqure his home planet but that wasn't enough. So he then put together an army to conquer the universe. Sending his army to conquer planets and making himself King of the universe. I don't think Cold is an actual King because Freiza is never referred to as prince, I think Cold just made himself King of the galaxy because you know, who's going to argue with him? I think he got his technology from his home planet. I think he gave birth to Freiza similarly the way King Piccolo gave birth to Piccolo. Piccolo in some way is a clone of his father and I think the same goes with Freiza, he's in some ways a clone of Cold but ended up being more powerful and more sadstic. He took Freiza with him as he conqured planets showing him the ropes and when he was ready he passed his empire down to Freiza. That's my theory of their history.

Demons, in Japanese lore, are generally more synonymous with the concept of "evil," more than with creatures of spiritual origin. It's just another term for a bad guy to them.

If the race reproduces by cloning, even if you're not cloning Frieza (for power level reasons), you'd still clone an army of, say, "Half-Friezas" to fill out your army; not rely on alien "trash." The fact we haven't seen an arm of Frieza's race is evidence enough that they'e not front line soldiers. End of the day, sexual reproduction + mutation is the easiest explanation. The big question is whether they killed his race.

Wonder if King Kold would break in a cold sweat when someone brings up Cooler, and he says... " We...gulp...don't speak of that name often...."

Buu could have just as easily been heard of from legends or stories passed down. You’re seriously over-thinking this..

That actually gives me a fun thought; If they made a Freeza-race character called "Frijj" it'd be hilarious. It would both conform their cold-puns & it'd be a dairy pun. I'm not sure if the later is international...it's a tasty Milkshake here in the UK, though. Anyway, the point is; That character could be both the same race as Frieza & the leader of a Ginyu-esque team, as all their members are Dairy puns.

Just saw Broly yesterday. GOD it was amazing. It was also amazing being surrounded by a room full of people who were ready to make the Frieza Planet 419 joke
