@@julianaansah6367 Akans make up about 65% of the current Ghanaian society. There's a difference between an Akan and Asante, Akan is the general group of people who speak or understand the language of each other, where as, the Asante is a group of Akans who decided to form a battle force to conquer other lands. The head of this force is /was in the current Ashanti region , the Kumasi hene or the Asantehene. I'm a Ghanaian but still learning.

Asantes are originally from ancient Egypt.... Which was known as kemet. Indeed, Ancient egyptian kings used to take names of previous kings just like the Akan way.... In one of Dr Anthony browders excavations in Egypt, they discovered a painting of an Adinkra symbol in one of the ceilings and tombs of the 25th dynasty... When you go to where the Asantes burry their kings,it's called "3banmu".... There are evidence of mummification in there..(which people are known for the mummys)... There are series of pointers that lead Asantes and The Akans for that matter... Straight to Egypt or Nubia...

@@purplelove3666 now.... Hold it right there.... Do Not expose yourself any further... First of all, I'm not an African-American... I'm a born and raised Ghanaian. I'm an Asante.. Secondly, I'm a historian so I dig deeper than the average history that is been taught in our schools... Again, don't sit there and rely on the History that is endorsed by our oppressors... It is an agenda. Since you don't wanna go there...I don't think I even need to prove anything to you.. Moreover, Asantes, ewes,GAs,Dagombas and the rest didn't just erupt from beneath the earth... They all have their origins.. They all came from somewhere.... The earliest humans lived in the central and eastern part of Africa... Africa has always been for the black people but they moved from the central and eastern to the rest of the continent.... At a point, the whole continent was called Ethiopia, Alkebulan and other names before it finally became the Africa we know today. Even the Asantes, have different narrations as to where the actually came from, of which Egypt(kemet),Nubia is one of them... So don't sit there and say what you don't know.... Finally, I think you are rather confused by expecting a historian to lecture you about economics of our nation today..it's my duty to remind the world of whence we came from... The economists, doctors, engineers are all there and they are doing their jobs... So why would you expect a historian to say something else.... History has a very important role in our lives today...it works on the psche of people..... U think our sisters world bleach their skins if they really knew who they are and the power they posses? You think a black man will ever see himself as a sub human if he truly knew his past? Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves of who we truly are.. Just to awaken the innovative, production, intuitive instincts in us ...... Don't let the frustration in the country run your mind somewhere pls

This man is not telling the truth about Ashantis and the Fantis. The Fante's called the Ashantis Asua-tsiw-fu .If you read a book call (ORIGIN OF THE COAST TRIBES) Page 6 it says Fa-tsiw-fu, meaning a portion of the people who had cut themselves off from the main body, and the others were called '' Asua-tsiw-fu,'' meaning the people who did not hearken, because they refused to listen to the advice of the King when he wanted to restore peace and prevent the Ashantis from driving the Fantis away. The Fantis say that they found the forest uninhabited, and some of them settled there, founding the village of Kwaman; but the majority pushed on till they reached the coast. They are said to have been led by three chiefs- Osun, Oburnuma kuma and Odapagan.( which is all tru but Ashantis don't want to accept the truth) and they sold the Fantis and the Ashantis themselves to the white men. Suriname and Jamaica people are full Fantis you can check their culture.
