The Oregonmikes Survival Challenge

Ойын-сауық

My good friend Oregonmike came up with the idea to fill a box with mystery items and send it to me. My objective was to take the box into the woods and open it up on camera, and build a shelter and spend the night in the woods with the unknown contents of the box and see what uses I can find for the items. It was a lot of fun and It would be fun for you the survival community to get with your friends and see if they would like for you to send them a package and film the adventure that pursues. Oregonmike is one of the coolest guys on youtube. Please visit his channel. kzread.info...

Yep, and the objective was to find as many uses for the items in the box. Oregonmike thought I wouldnt find any use for the fish. I showed him, lol. Thanks for watching my friend.

Now that sounds like some really good survival training. To me, getting lost with gear is no big deal. Losing a backpack could get serious. Breaking one leg or having use of one arm is very serious. I think eveyone would benefit from practicing camping that way. Im glad you liked the video, everyone I talk to here on youtube seems just like old friends to me too. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching my friend.

Thanks War, I have been told hundreds of times in the past that kids hit a certain age and they want nothing to do with their parents. Nick is only 14 and I can kinda sense him wanting to do his own thing. He has spent plenty of good times in the woods with me so if it slacks up a little bit for a few years I guess I can handle it. I love being able to put on video all the fun and nutty things I do in the woods for fun. I hope it makes others want to do the same. Thanks for watching my friend.

OK, about 1/4 into this I found out that "Mike" supplied way too much stuff for this Georgia southern reared country boy. Really, the knife he brought was very large! (machete not needed). Now into the 1/3 to 1/2 of this I know this is true. SPAM, rope, plastic, water, knife of my choice, stove, COFFEE, and RICE! Come on, this should have been a 2 day challenge at least for this guy. I think reallybigmonkee1 did a great job... although I would have done this for the ruck sack alone... would like to know where this came from, really nice. Nick... very nice job, always enjoy you guys videos and will check out Mike's. BTW, I butcher the English language a lot, but then i love to.

@Loraxtribe I thought this was a great idea of oregonmikes, especially the part of come up with as many uses for the items as possible. That gave me good ammo for a video. Well, I used the Ferro rod for the sterno but, I didnt remember any flint. I found perfect wood for a hand drill, which is very rare without drying it ahead of time so, I figured I'd give it a shot. If it failed I always had the Ferro Rod to light up those dry tree roots I found by the creek. Thanks for watching my friend.

That is a SOG Jungle Primitive. Not the best knife in the world but for $38.00 it is a steal. I love it and use it quite often. The cheapest place to get one is on Amazon. Thanks for watching my friend.

I should have used it for a bellows, that would be a very good idea. Oregonmike thought I wouldnt have used it at all. Two uses would have blown his mind, ha ha. Thanks for the sub and thanks for watching my friend.

Thanks! I gotta agree, and these are the most important times in their lives to spend time with them and hang out with them, teach them and be there for them. Kids are our future. Thanks for watching my friend.

Ah no big deal, Im glad you thought of it. Mike was wondering if I could have found any use for it. If I'd thought about the coal blower at the time, I would have had two ideas for it. Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching my friend.
