I may have been at this, I saw them at Brixton just before they got big, Orb all-nighters at Brixton finishing at 6 am the next morning, then I saw them when they went mainstream, and even dave gilmour showed up to watch them, i don't think he raved the night away afterwards though lol. Same as the mega dog all-nighters, those Brixton nights were amazing like a mini festival under one roof happy times back then.

Great version of Star 6, 7, 8 & 9. Steve Hillage's guitar work really adds to the track. I was at this gig and it was as good as it sounds!

Was there on the list. I think Grob and jennifer who did the boston tea party's put it on. Fruit salad did the lights. We took our own Solar 250 projector to add to the ambiance and sat in a box eating hash cake and enjoying a purple ohm. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck twitch when I hear Star 6 & 7, 8, 9. thanks so much for posting

lol i bought a microdot at some gig in brixton academy. the guy had them in a strip between two pieces of selotape. I was pretty munted so ate mine with the selotape still on. took about 8 hours for my stomach to digest it. started to come up in bed on my own. it was not a fun night

I want to Thank You for posting this live performance. I try to refrain from being bias, but The Orb wasn't the same without Thrash, especially live. The version of Star 6 & 7, 8, 9 in this performance is astounding. This version is much longer than the one that appears in Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld Patterns & Textures. The tracks from that live release are clearly edited. Once more, Thank You!

Yeah I agree. Thrash era orb is genius. Great live work early on, through sublime production & sound craft in UFORB, culminating in somewhat self sabotaged pure complex genius in Orbus Terrarum. My personal all time icon of that era. I'm still inspired by his work to this day. They are like beautiful paintings I will live with all my life

@@BHALLOR I’ve listened to virtually every flavor of electronic dance music from Moroder onwards, and the Thrash stuff on U.F.Orb still amazes me like it was made by a combination of god and magic. It is so perfectly finessed. They fully digest and communicate at least 7 major genres (krautrock, ambient, house, techno, trance, breakbeat, dub) and the end product cannot simply be called anything besides “the orb”. I’ve listened to Orbus Terrarum a bit more (and it’s been my eBay handle since 1999!) but only because it relaxes me more than U.F.Orb, but really U.F.Orb is basically a perfect album without one wrong note or off moment.... it’s nothing short of magical. I could only imagine being a clubgoer during the time when that album came out whilst jungle was simultaneously forming...unreal.

I used to have this on cassette back in 91-92 but I lost it a long long time ago in the sands of time 😢 I am gobsmacked that it's on KZread, where did you get this? And do you think I can get my hands on a copy of it? I have no idea if it was an official recording, or a good quality bootleg because the cassette that I had was a regular C90 or summat and just had 'The Orb & Hillage - Live' and was by far my favourite Orb LP. I was gutted when I lost it......well I lent it to someone and never saw it again. This recording is definitely the same one that I had back in the day 👍
